Adventures Out West

Bought a living social to try ziplining for the first time while on vacation in Colorado Springs with my mom! Turned out to be a great decision on our part because today was a blast! Allen and «Squeaks» we’re a riot and made it so much fun! They kept it lighthearted and made jumping off the first cliff a breeze! I would definitely come back for another adventure with them and the only reason I knocked them down from 5 stars to 4 was because I was charged a $ 2.10 per person «taxi fee» which may have been for the truck ride up a hill to get to the first launch site but I’m not sure… not that big of a deal but would’ve figured that ride was included in the price.

I would not suggest going to Adventures Out West for hot air balloon rides, and would be hesitant to go there for anything at all. We scheduled a balloon ride in May. The first flight was delayed because their website overbooked them. Then, we were delayed four more times due to weather, where their employees could have contacted us much earlier to inform us of the delay, but didn’t. They waited until the last minute. We finally scheduled for a successful day in the middle of July. The day we finally went up, the employees arrived 15 minutes late, after making it clear to all of us that we better arrive early. I paid for a video, but that apparently got lost in the rebooking shuffle, so they didn’t record anything. They offered me, and provided, a refund but I am pretty sure they only refunded half the original amount. I sent an email questioning the refund, because the receipt stated that I paid for the video but didn’t itemize the dollar amount. They didn’t respond to either of my emails. I think this company fails on all fronts. They did everything wrong from beginning to end. That’s not a minor mistake or misunderstanding. That is a pattern of incompetence.

We were in Denver for a few days and booked a jeep tour with Adventures out West. Had no idea what to expect and it was absolutely amazing. Concho was our guide and he was full of awesome information. He takes you to some really cool places and you get out of the jeep and spend 10−15min exploring and then it’s on to the next. I’m sure all of the guides are great, but ask for Concho!

We went on the Colo-​rad zip line tour and had a great time. The guides, «Big bird» and «Squeaky» were a lot of fun, a cool team, and also were newlyweds! We would do this ride again, but would go earlier — if you’re in a smaller group you might be able to re-​do some of the runs, if time permits.

OK, I didn’t actually get to go on the Garden of the Gods Segway tour, because I was sick and stuck in the motel room. But my husband and parents loved it and we will definitely go back so I can do it.

So much fun! Our guides were so much fun as well and really pushed everyone out of their comfort zones to ensure a great time. Would definitely recommend doing it at least once and try some crazy moves!

Great experience and excellent customer service! I found this place through Groupon. Only one Groupon per customer. I purchased one for my daughter and my dad was going to purchase one for my son. Not even ten minutes after I purchased the groupon for my daughter the Groupon deal sold out and my dad was unable to purchase the deal. We called the company and explained what happen and they went ahead and gave us the Groupon price for my sons reservation. They let us drive up with the rest of the group so that we could video and take pictures at no extra cost. Wonderful company and a wonderful experience! I would totally recomened them to anyone looking for a fun and exciting experience.

Yes, the zip lining experience was AWESOME. But I have to say, it’s really every team member that made this adventure extra fun. I don’t know if they specifically hire people with amusing personalities, but either way, they make it an extra hoot.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful. So glad we went on this adventure (which we decided on after the COG Railroad was sold out, and am sooooo glad we did).
Highly reccomend this company & adventure!

The zip lining is so much fun! The guides are thorough with training so you feel safe but also are funny and want you to have as much fun as possible. There were 5 lines if I remember correctly all going over the canyons. Great views from every angle!

I found Adventures Out West through Unilocal!We stayed in Denver but rented a car to drive around & visit a bunch of places while we were there… We decided to go to AOW on a Saturday… We had an AMAZING time! We did the open air jeep tour & zip line combo.
Our tour guide, Dusty, was awesome! Such a nice guy & told us tons of history on our tour. Then as we rounded into Garden of the Gods he let us stop to take pictures. We asked if we could walk through the trail there & he dropped us off and picked us up at the other side (taking 20 extra minutes of his time). We then headed up to the zip line. Dusty was so nice & took pictures of my friend & I when we were zip lining! Sooo sweet of him since we couldn’t do it ourselves! The Zipline was really cool and all the guides were great! They were hilarious & made the Zipline much more fun!
All in all it was fantastic & I would recommend anyone to do the jeep & Zipline combo!
I would 100% go back to do a different jeep tour & Zipline on my next trip to Colorado!!!

Thank God for Groupons as if we wouldn’t have found those for zip-​lining here, we wouldn’t have gone. My parents, fiancé and I all went zip-​lining this past week in Manitou Springs through Adventures Out West. Although the website did not make it easy to book, when I called there wasn’t a problem. Their customer service is great! We arrived a little bit before scheduled and met our zip guides. My mom and I were a bit nervous but our guides put our minds at ease. We went on one of the 90 degree days last week and my only suggestion, either go early in the morning or wait until it’s not above 90. There’s nothing like sweating it up with a harness on zipping over the springs.
We were able to complete five zips in about two hours. There’s a little hiking in between and honestly, that was the most strenuous out of the entire trip but again, mostly because of the heat. They have a camera guy taking photos so you can buy some at the end if you choose, no pressure, which is nice. I would definitely recommend AOW as they are friendly, accomodating, and it was a great time. Thanks AOW!

While visiting friends in Colorado Springs I thought it would be fun to fly in a Hot Air Balloon again. I called about 2 weeks prior to my trip and the owner of AOW answered and took down all my information and booked me for the Friday I was going to be in town. He also ended up as our Pilot. The next day I got a call back stating that he was out in the field when he took my information and asked if it would be possible for me to go on Saturday instead. No problem at all. Arrived at the meet up location and hopped into the van with my friends. When making the reservation he offered me a deal I could not refuse! Buy 2 get one free. So my one friend didn’t know until the day before and was very happy. We took off from just South East of the airport and up to 13,000 ft. It was as if we were even with the top of Pikes Peak. You could see even the second and third line of mountain ranges on. The entire flight ended up being much longer than the stated 45 minutes to 1 hr. as 3 balloons were launched that day and we were the first ones up. We stayed High altitude most of our flight. We flew low over a subdivision and then landed in an empty field about 3 to 4 miles away from where we took off. After things were wrapped up a Champaign toast and breakfast of coffee cake, muffins, fruits and cheeses we were driven back to the meet up location and he verified my credit card and had me sign the recipt. All handled very professionally and courteously! Look forward to doing business with AOW Again!
