Front Range Honda

I had an excellent experience buying a 2016 Civic with Front Range Honda. I went in on a Wednesday with the original intent of test driving an HR-​V. This is a newer vehicle from Honda and a little harder to come by. Tony Roche helped me out and talked to me about the 2016 Civic, sending me on my way with some info about the two different cars. He reached back out to me on Friday and we started looking at pricing and options. He was waiting for me on Saturday morning when I arrived and we test drove a couple Civics. I loved the car and on Monday they had the model and color I wanted on the lot ready for me to pick up. I worked with Logan in the financing department and he helped me find the best rate available. The whole process was quite simple. I think I spent about 5 – 6 hours total at the dealership including the time test driving. This is my 3^rd new car purchase and it’s very easy for me to walk away if I feel like I’m getting the run around. I never felt the need. The guys I worked with were honest and to the point and I highly recommend them. Also, they have coffee and donuts (at least on Saturdays).

I get my Honda’s serviced at Japanese Connection since they were called Independent Honda back in 1985 but I have used Front Range (formerly Team) Honda for recalls and for cutting keys.
The service department is large, clean and seems to attend to customers with dispatch, even in the morning when crowded. They fixed a recall on a fuel filler neck on my 1984 Accord, and airbag recalls on my Accord and CRV with no muss, no fuss. I did have to take my Accord in a second day because one of the airbags did not come in – I saw the delivery semi the day I took it in, so I know they were expecting the airbag.
I bought both recent Honda’s from Team, now called Front Range. I have taken two test drives within the last year, once on a new CRV and once in a Pilot. I decided I liked my 2006 CRV better than the newer one so I took a pass and as much as I liked the larger Pilot I could not justify owning it for the few times I needed a larger vehicle.
All things being equal I will probably buy my next Honda at Front Range.

What a great experience buying a vehicle at this dealership! I live out of state and my daughter needed to turn in her leased Honda in Colorado and I corresponded with Paul Stetler to arrange details before she went in to buy a new car. Paul was very professional, informative, made quite a few reductions on the vehicle, was extremely helpful and the whole staff was very nice to my daughter. She received a great deal on the car of her dreams and is extremely happy. Please take the time to check out this dealership and ask for Paul.

I know people are often more likely to leave a negative review if they are unhappy than they are to leave a positive one if they are satisfied, but that’s not the case here. In October I went in to purchase a vehicle I was already leasing from another dealership in another state. The vehicle remained in my possession before and after the sale. I specifically opted out of a Karr Alarm system to be installed in the car. Later in January I realized the paperwork was incorrect on the extended warranty I purchased and that I had been charged $ 600 for the Karr system on my bill of sale. I immediately contacted them to get a refund on the Karr system and was told the paperwork would take 6 – 8 weeks. I followed up at 8 weeks and my calls and emails were unreturned. By week ten I began emailing and calling finance and general management even two or three times in one day. It wasn’t until I threatened in an email to contact the BBB and leave negative reviews at 11 weeks that a check with interest was sent to the finance company. No explanation was ever given on why it was held up but I believe this is the fault of the organization and not an individual because even management refused to return my calls. Read your paperwork carefully if you choose to ignore this review.

Gah. Unfortunately I just had a review-​worthy negative experience at Front Range. Took my Honda CRV (2003) in and explicitly told the service advisor, David, that I was bringing my car in so that they could take a look & reassure me the car was safe for a couple of long-​distance road trips I was about to embark on with my three small children. Some of the specific things I asked him to check were: 1) my key fob had stopped working, 2) the cruise control had stopped working, 3) the car «shakes» when I apply the brakes going down hill at a normal clip, and 4) oil change. He told me he would PERSONALLY drive my car and check the braking issue. It was early a.m. but I picked up on a slightly condescending tone in his voice that rubbed me the wrong way. He was younger than me and not at all like the gentleman I had worked with on prior visits. David made the mistake of asking, «Do you know how to operate the cruise control m’am?» I fumed internally for a second and then let it slide. Leaving the keys with him, I made my way to the comfortable waiting room. I do love their waiting room (baked goods, coffee, nice chairs and news on the tv). About 20 minutes later the Honda shuttle took me to work and I actually arrived early (nice!). Sometimes, depending on where you have to go in town, you are the last one in the queue for drop-​off and it’s irritating and stressful. A few hours later David calls me at work and tells me in his sing-​songy voice (like he’s talking to a child) that my car is «safe for now» for purposes of the trips but that I need new air filters, a serpentine hose replaced, a rotate and balance, some fluids flushed, the battery was corroding slightly, and the front brakes were slightly worn. Then he says, «Now I think I need to give you a little education about cruise control.» WTF?! Who talks to a customer like that? Instead of just explaining that the cruise button on the dash had been clicked off at some point, he adopted a condescending approach. Anyway, I authorized the «must-​do-​now» service (oil/​filters/​hose/​fob/​rotate & balance) and it came to about $ 380. Head’s up: Even though I had no less than three different Honda coupon pamphlets sitting on my kitchen counter at home, David said that he would not honor them unless I had them in-​hand at time of payment. So, despite the fact that Honda says they honor best pricing available from competitors as well as their own expired coupons, they won’t honor their own coupons unless you remember to bring them with you and present them at time of payment. I did go on-​line and managed to find a statement on their website promising free rotates if you bought tires from them (which I had last summer). I mentioned that to him and he agreed to take that miniscule amount off of my bill. Gee, thanks! Unfortunately, I had a 20% off parts and labor coupon at home that I would have had to go retrieve in my car (which, recall, was sitting at Honda). So, guess it’s my bad (and lesson) to keep my coupons in my car at all times just in case. Okay, so flash forward to me picking up my car to go get my kids from school. I get the kids, go to unlock the doors using my «working» key fob (David reassured me all it needed was a new battery) and the damn thing still doesn’t work. I called David and asked him if the technician even checked to see if the fob worked after he replaced the battery and all David said was «well, he told me he did.» He said my only choice was to bring the car back in so that he could have the door lock checked and possibly replace the entire key fob for over $ 100. Well guess what? I don’t have time to keep bringing my car in when I live in north Colorado Springs, work downtown, have three kids to transport to various places and Honda is out east. I brought my car in on a day when my kids were elsewhere so I could do it easily and not worry about racing around town. UGH! And now here I am going on a long-​distance roadtrip without the ability to automatically unlock my doors if we have to get in the car fast (due to weather or emergency). Dang, just writing this makes me mad. To top it off, David did not personally drive my car to check out the «shake» from applied brakes. When I called to tell him it was still shaking and that I had assumed the rotate and balance was his solution he said that it was probably a warped rotor and that it just happens and it’s more annoying than anything. Fine. But you didn’t do what you said you were going to do and, therefore, I’ve lost trust. How does anyone ever know if service is even performed at these dealerships short of asking for the nasty oil and air filters back and a video as proof? Honestly, I’ve loved my Honda and it has been very reliable but the service I experienced from the dealer this time is enough to make me look at other car brands (I’m due for a new car this fall). I will NOT go back to Honda for service from here on out.

Don’t waste your time. There are plenty of competent mechanics in the Springs who want your business without pulling their greedy dealership and poor customer service crap. Went in to find out what the problem was with my car and I didn’t hear from them for FIVE hours! Service rep suggested I take a shuttle home after dropping my car off at 9am, and I didn’t hear from him at ALL. I called at 2pm, only to find out thy had charged me $ 100 just to look at it, and wanted to charge me more than a thousand bucks for easy repairs. Go to Maurickio’s on Arcturus. They are friendly, gifted mechanics who don’t force you into buying overpriced services.

I purchased a new 2006 CR-​V and have approximately 176K trouble-​free miles on the vehicle. I have almost exclusively serviced the car at Honda dealerships since its purchase. A majority of the service history for this car was with Garcia Honda, Albuquerque, NM. I am extremely satisfied with Garcia Honda’s service department. I live in Colorado Springs and used to commute weekly to Albuquerque for work; therefore, it was practical for me to service my vehicle at Garcia Honda. I have stopped commuting. Earlier this week, I decided to have service accomplished at Front Range Honda, 1103 Academy Park Loop, Colorado Springs, CO 80 910 (719) 597‑4500. I needed an (1) oil change, (2) rear differential service, (3) cabin filter replacement and an (4) alignment. I attempted to call the service department last week to schedule an appointment; however, after being placed on hold for approximately 20 minutes, I hung up and tried to reach the dealership general manager. I reached the general manager’s voicemail and left a message. Later that same day, the manager returned my call, I told him about my experience trying to schedule an appointment. The manager told me he was sorry and would investigate my issue and would have someone contact me to schedule an appointment. A woman called, I scheduled an appointment and detailed the list of preventative maintenance I needed accomplished, the 4 items identified above. I dropped my vehicle off for service approximately 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment (0745 hours) and had to again regurgitate my desired maintenance list. I was told by my service advisor they could have my car ready for me by 1500 hours. At 1500 hours, I returned to the dealership and was informed my vehicle was not ready and that it would be awhile before it would be ready. I waited a little more than an hour for my vehicle. My service advisor advised me my vehicle was ready, apologized for the delay and discounted the final invoice. I am very disappointed in this dealership’s performance. Someone should have been tracking the service for my vehicle and notified me beforehand my vehicle would not be ready on time. I feel I was punished by being forced to sit in a waiting room with my only entertainment option a TV running an endless Honda infomercial. In my mind, I do not understand why it takes almost an entire work day for 4 noncomplex scheduled maintenance items to be accomplished. I believe the dealership personnel require customer training. It’s clear to me, I must find a dealership outside Colorado Springs in order to continue Honda maintenance. I am now questioning my judgment for recommending this dealership to a close friend mine for their purchase of a new 2013 Pilot, they purchased the vehicle two weeks ago. I guess I need to alert them to find a dealership qualified to service their new vehicle. In my mind, this dealership lacks the ability to perform minimal customer service and is just plain unprofessional and rude. No one at this dealership is concerned about my time and how much of it they wasted just so I could use Honda service. What does Honda say?

Bought 2 cars from this dealership in 2011 and 2012. Still own the 2011 one. Anyways, the sales staff is pretty back and forth, if you don’t have experience buying cars it will be hard to navigate pricing. My deal took about 2 months to finalize.
My first sales person was a bit of a hassle to work with, the second time we dealt with a new sales person and the manager. The sales person was very professional, honest (I KNOW, HARD TO BELIEVE) and extremely helpful. He was fired for not being as pushy as they wanted him to be. Sad, because I’m sure more people would have appreciated a sales person that wasn’t trying their hardest to rip them off.
Their parts department is great to deal with! I’ve been in there to buy parts for who knows how long and each time is absolutely great!

The service center was terribly slow. Seriously, it took over two hours to get my oil changed. They don’t take reservations and didn’t say how long it would take. The price was good, but the wait was not worth the money saved.

Well, I’ve purchased from both Kuni and now Front Range. I can say that I enjoyed my experience at Kuni much more. We don’t live in the springs, so we had a little bit of a drive to get down there. My husband had called and made arrangements for the price (that’s really the only thing I can’t complain about) before we even got down there, but on the way down they were calling us asking if we were still going to show even after we had told them we’d be there. When we got there, it was clear that they didn’t really want us to be there at 7 PM on a Friday, but they were still courteous.
We had to wait forever because there was only one finance person available to finish our transaction and the family before us took over an hour to go through all their paperwork. When wrapping things up, paperwork wise, there were several mistakes made. My husband had to make sure he was on top of that part of it. Oddly enough each mistake made seemed to be in the dealership’s favor.
When we got ready to leave, my husband asked if they could remove the decal from the back of the vehicle before we left. The sales guy said, «we aren’t making any money on this deal, the least you could do is advertise for us.» That’s not really the kinda attitude that I want to get from my sales person, I don’t know about you. The guy we dealt with didn’t seem to know very much about the vehicle we were purchasing, because it’s not something they sell regularly. I would expect that any person dealing with customers would know more about every model that is sold at the dealership before being assigned to people. I’m just sayin’.

I dealt with two very dishonest salespeople at Front Range Honda, and after talking to other locals, it seems this dealership has a bad reputation. They had the gall to insist that I put money down before they would even get the exact car that I wanted on the lot! (I had already done research and knew the exact type of vehicle, color, transmission type, etc. I desired.)
The slimy vibes I got from these guys forced me to buy my new Honda at Burt Kuni Honda in south Denver — I do recommend them.
