Lowell’s Auto Repair

We were down from Duluth for the state fair. Our alternator went out. I checked Unilocal and Lowell’s pop up with 5 stars. They were quick, honest and very reasonablly priced. Best treatment I’ve ever had at an auto repair service.

I have been taking my car to Lowells for a couple years now and I am extremely satisfied with the service he has provided. He is a trustworthy mechanic that will tell you what needs to be done and why, and if you are not too mechanically inclined he will show you what he is talking about.
He has excellent people skills and is effective at interacting with people. If he so desired, he could probably be a maître d’ at a 5 star restaurant.
When you get an oil change, he also gives you recommendations on what you need to keep an eye on for possible repairs. The service goes as far as getting a loaner (if it’s available) if you need to go do a few things in the meantime.
If you like personalized service while supporting a small business instead of a corporation, then this is the place to take your car. Over time they develop a history on your car and they know it a lot better than a large dealership would.

I have been going here for all of my car service for years, and I can’t believe it hasn’t been reviewed on Unilocal before. I am amazed that an auto repair shop like this can still exist. The owner of the shop (Lowell) actually approves and tests every job done on the vehicles (he’s thorough) and he always communicates with me about work and money. I’ve met customers at this place who drive from all over the state just to have Lowell and his team work on their vehicle, and I would too, because I have yet to find a more honest and hardworking team such as this. You just can’t beat this place!

This is my family’s mechanic, literally no one else touches our cars. Lowell runs the most honest, helpful, and convenient car repair shop I have ever been to. He will always tell you (and in most cases show you) what needs to be done and why, and you can rest easy knowing that he is not just trying to make a quick buck off of you.
He will tell you what has to get done and what can wait and is always very easy to work with.
From oil changes, to break replacements to anything else this is the ONLY place to take your vehicles. Also he is a small business and Lord knows we need to support more small business!
