Specialties
As a psychologist I use validated techniques and skills to help children, adolescents, and adults overcome anxiety, depression, OCD, trichotillomania, and other mental health problems. I use exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD. I use EMDR for traumas. For long-term personality issues, I use Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). I also treat sexual addiction and partners of sex addicts.
History
Established in 1994.
This practice started after I completed a doctoral program in clinical psychology through Pepperdine University. Since then I have had the honor of working with hundreds of people and the pleasure of seeing many of them overcome long-term issues. This success has been due to their courage in facing their issues and fears. In order to help clients in their struggles, I have committed myself through the years to intensive training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy), Hypnosis, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for OCD and for Trichotillomania and Skin-Picking Disorder.

Deborah C.
Business Owner
I grew up in Baltimore in a small row house in a working class family. Luckily, my leadership skills and art talent were discovered in elementary school, and I was able to attend a rigorous public high school for girls, Western High School. After graduating from Towson State University, I became a juvenile probation counselor in Baltimore City. Supervisors encouraged graduate education. I completed a masters in counseling at Loyola College. I completed more clinical psychology courses there so that I could become a school psychologist in Baltimore City. I left Maryland for California so that I could undertake doctoral studies in clinical psychology. I completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology through Pepperdine University.
Besides my work with children, adolescents, and adults in my practice, I enjoy painting with pastels and oils. I did an intensive year of training with the Schuler School of Fine Arts and continue to take courses from them and others in portraits and landscapes
