We have been here a couple of times for their lunch buffet. Always with wonderful service and food. Enjoyed every single visit! Such a hidden gem in Howard County! I must have had five mugs of their masala tea today!

The difference between Indian food in an Indian restaurant vs an Indo-Nepalese restaurant is that Indo-Nepalese food has more of Nepali influence. So what does that mean? That means the food are TAD lighter in spices. This place is the hands down best Nepali-Indian food in the area, and I have tried a lot of places. To give some equivalent, Curry & Kabob has the same food quality and service that you find at Royal Taj, except they are also gentle on your wallet. The location can be little hard to find(its next to Melting Pot), but once you get there you will experience great food. Give it a shot once.

This review is based on the following dishes: Momo, Lamb Roganjosh, Chicken Saag, Vegetable Jalfrezi, Chicken Thukpa Soup, and Chicken Soup. Let’s start with the best dish ordered. Without a doubt, their Momo(steamed dumplings filled with chicken and spices) was tasty and the tomato-chili chutney paired nicely. If that was the only thing I tasted, you would be looking at Four Stars above. However, such was not the case and little did I expect things would go downhill quickly…(WARNING: for lack of a better word and out of respect for the owners and loyal patrons to this restaurant, the word«disappointing» is used liberally below.) Disappointingly, all the other dishes tasted today did not live up to the Unilocal-hype. Among these, their Chicken Saag was the lone shining star, albeit dimly. It was decent but not in the same league as the Saags you can get from the top Indian restaurants in the area. Quite a disappointing dining experience overall given the many reviews that rave about this place. Let me proceed, then, with what was most disappointing. That would be the Vegetable Jalfrezi, which appeared to be a mix of frozen veggies cooked in A LOT of tomato sauce. However, since at one point I tasted some gritty, dirt-like material, I am guessing that there was something fresh mixed in that was not thoroughly washed(I truly hope… and that it was a indeed a veggie). Even worse was the fact that this dish tasted predominantly of tomato sauce with spices thrown in… very, very disappointing. I’ve been trying to figure out if they used fresh tomatoes and pureed it or if they just used canned tomato purée. Either way there was just way too much tomato flavor and couple that with the frozen veggies and you have a dish that I did not expect to receive from a restaurant rated with nearly Five Stars! Also disappointing was the Lamb Roganjosh. Their menu describes it as containing chopped onions, tomatoes and fresh ground spices. But our dish tasted like chunks of dry lamb in a bland tomato cream sauce. I thought this dish would have more texture and flavor given the description, but it did not. I should also mention this dish was ordered at the«spicy» level(and their scale goes from«mild» to «medium» to «spicy» to «very spicy») but it only had a faint taste of heat and their other use of spices in this dish was barely noticeable. Finally were the two soups, of which, the Chicken Thukpa(Nepalese spicy chicken noodle soup) was better but still average. In addition to the chunks of chicken, noodles, and«Great Nepali Spices»(as the menu touts) there was also cauliflower, green onions and parsley in this soup. Overall, it had decent flavor but a bit on the salty side. The Chicken Soup, however, appeared to have the same broth and chunks of chicken but with«Great Indian Spices»(again, as the menu touted), but unfortunately, not much difference come through flavor-wise. If I had only ordered the Chicken Thukpa Soup I would probably be less critical but seeing them next to each other accentuated how spartan the Chicken Soup was – and, how both soups tasted the same, save for the addition of noodles and cauliflower in the Thukpa version. In short, and for the last time, very disappointing, hence the Two Stars. I am probably being too critical but all those Four and Five Star reviews set my bar high. Perhaps the kitchen was having a bad night or maybe I just ordered all the wrong dishes or maybe they are better with their Nepalese fare than Indian. I don’t plan on finding out though as this experience has been enough to turn me away from a return visit. I will acknowledge that their Indian fare is not as oily and ghee-laden as some of the other Indian restaurants in the area, but in terms of freshness of ingredients and presence of complex flavors, I just didn’t get that today.

Very friendly staff. We Unilocaled and on a whim decided to give it a try. The Nepali Momo and the Alu Tikki Chat as two dishes repeatedly written about. Tried both and couldn’t decide which was better. Several types of Naan and a few appetizer samplers finished out a nice meal. This place was hard to find but well worth the find.

First, I am an avid, frequent Unilocal user and take full advantage of the delivery, hands on ordering. Also I very its seldom I take the time to write a review. I recently started ordering delivery from this establishment. I must say I am addicted and extremely impressed with the prompt and speedy delivery service! On average it takes 20 – 30 minutes. This place of business has exceeded my expectations on that note. The food? Let’s just say once you’ve tried it, you can’t get enough. I wouldn’t even consider myself an «Indian cuisine» fan or is it even a preference. It’s always steaming hot, fresh, the quality is obvious, deliciousness doesn’t change and is delivered right to your door before expected arrival time. Cons: #1 $ 25 minimum for delivery being its only myself. But understandable and worth it. #2 I have failed to receive plastic forks, spoons or napkins with any of my orders. The Chicken Tikka masala & chicken and vegetable soup highly recommend

Nepali joint. Decent food. Not too bad. They even catered to my special needs of leaving the tomatoe out of Dal Makhani. Best thing is they deliver!

Wow, what a great find. We came based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The large menu made it hard to decide what to get. They had goat and lamb on the menu but we settled on malai kofta, gobi manchurian. Everything was boldly spiced and made fresh. I can’t wait to go back to try more.

If it wasn’t for Unilocal there would be no way to ever find this place. And if you have anyone older in your party or infirmed in anyway, I think you have to go somewhere else as it is hidden away at the end of a shopping center with no close place to park or impossible to drop someone off at the door. ect. Owner, staff was very nice. We just had the buffet but everything we ate was wonderful. Still… I know part of it is the«Columbia» experience with things tucked away on curving roads… but we were in the parking lot and still couldn’t find it. No one would ever just happen upon this place or «see it from the road».

I had an excellent dinner here with family. The area has some good options for Indian food, but this is one of the best. We had an early dinner for five starting around 4pm. The service was very attentive and the food courses arrived just as we were ready for the next item. Everyone seemed to enjoy what was ordered and said they would like to return. To start, we received complementary crispy flatbread(Papadum?) with sauces. For appetizers we ordered Momo and Sukuti Alu. The Momo reminded me of other steamed dumplings I’ve had and were good. The Sukuti Alu was something I’d never had before and had strong flavor and paired well with the potatoes. It’s dried goat meat, but not quite as chewy as a jerky. For entrées, we had Chicken Makhani, Tandoori Chicken, Lamb and Chicken Boti, Daal Tadka, and Shahi Paneer. The chicken was particularly succulent compared to Tandoori chicken I’ve had elsewhere. The shahi paneer had a generous portion of paneer to sauce, which was appreciated. The Makhani sauce and sauce in the Shahi Paneer was excellent, particularly with the rice and Naan assortment we ordered. I enjoyed the Daal, though would have liked to try it spicier. We were sharing the dishes though and the other diners were more sensitive to spicy food. The waiter asked the desired hotness level for each dish. No one ordered any dish hotter than«medium». I enjoy indian food on the spicy side and sometimes hotter. I felt medium had a detectable level of spice so as to make the dish interesting flavor-wise, but I’d wouldn’t describe it as having any more heat than the temperature of the dish. I suggest if you enjoy your spicy food hot, order it so with emphasis. I tasted the Gulab Jamun for dessert. It was more minty and less sweet than I was familiar with, an interesting and welcome change. A couple family members ordered the indian coffee with extra spice and they enjoyed it immensely. I had a spoonful and agreed it was quite good; the taste was similar to chai. I look forward to returning. Note: the restaurant location is in the corner of the same building as the Melting pot. The most convenient parking seems to be the lot next to the Melting Pot, facing Twin Rivers Rd.

A very nice find in Columbia. Curry & Kabob has found a flavorful balance of spices that is sure to satisfy the pallet. Hidden away around the corner and almost out of sight, C&K has a quiet feel. It really is almost hidden. You are going to have to look close to see the sign, but finding it will be worth the effort. Inside is a well decorated dining room that provides enough space for individuals or small groups. Service is prompt and the staff is very friendly. A pleasant dining experience is everyone’s goal, from the waitstaff to the cooks. The flavors do not disappoint. Starting off with the momo appetizer to all of the tasty entrees: Not a single disappointment. Try it. Like it. Go back for more.

Amazing fare and warm service. Although our waiter(possibly manage or owner) seemed to be a bit confused with our questions at times, he was genuinely kind and attentive. It was really hard to decide what to get considering their menu is extensive and varied, but we ultimately settled on the Momo(dumplings), Lamb Seekh Kabob, Chicken Vindaloo, and Garlic Naan. Not a single dish disappointed! The only complaint I have is that everything took foreverrrr. They close at 10:00PM on a Sunday night, and while we got there and ordered by 9:15, our food didn’t come out to 9:45 — 9:50PM. We asked for a to-go sauce for our leftover Kabob and it took another 10 minutes to make. Aside from all that, we’re really looking forward to coming back and trying the authentic Nepalese cuisine!

An enjoyable, flavorful, customizable meal from Curry and Kabob. Definitely my new favorite Indian place! We ordered the chicken masala and chicken vindaloo. With the advice of a fellow Unilocaler, I ordered the vindaloo medium and the chicken masala mild. Even ordered medium, the heat in the vindaloo packed a punch. The meal came with two pieces of naan. Both dishes were so freshly made that as we hungrily dug into it, fiery tendrils of steam came out of Mike’s mouth. The chicken vindaloo was fantastic – complex flavors of spices, chilis, tomatoes made a delightful tongue tease. Complemented by the chicken marsala. The creamy, tomato sauce cooled us down in between bites. The perfectly made basmati rice and naan made perfect vessels for the huge, chunky portions of chicken breast we received. Furthermore, they offered excellent customer services. This place is a hidden gem for sure, as we were one of the only diners for dinner. If I didn’t have a go-to Indian place, I do now. I’m looking forward to trying the Nepalese dumplings and goat curry. Tips: They have dinner deals(e.g. two chicken entrees w/naan for $ 27.00 or 2 veg entrees, etc.). You can enter in the front or back of the store. They have various picnic tables outside perfect for outdoor dining on a nice day.

Service, for the most part was spot on and friendly. Our appetizer, freshly, home made dumplings — ground chicken, spiced with fresh cilantro, swimming in a lightly seasoned broth and encased in a tender, chewy noodle wrap, were divine. I didn’t care for the accompanying dipping sauce, which was cold and overly sweet. My lamb vindaloo, served in a clay pot, was enough for two meals. A tad too much cream? — something, silkening the sauce and distracting the flavors. This was the same for my hubby’s chicken tikka masala — to much cream, lacking that wonderful tomato essence and why was it so overwhelmingly orange? I’ve never seen such a beautiful hue given to this chicken dish. The garlic nan was mediocre, at best. Name dropping here — one of the best I’ve ever had was at Tandoor Grill, in Laurel, MD. It arrives piping hot, dripping of butter, ripe with garlic and puffy too.

Please Note: This review of their food is from a grubHub delivery — We did NOT visit the restaurant. Sometimes you just need the hot spicy exotic spices of East India. The soft warming reassurance of Naan bread, the cooling refreshment of a good yoghurt Raita, and the spicy crunchy fun of Papadam. Curry and Kabob delivers it(though a bit slowly) and more! The Chat Papri was amazing — I’m sure it got a bit LESS crispy in the delivery process but we found this app quite addictive and a healthy portion for sharing! Crispy home made chips tossed with cool cucumber, chick peas, tomatoes, diced onion, & cilantro then drizzled with spicy & sweet sauces. YUM! Crave-able! 12 Piece Momo, a Nepali App, was also fantastic! Plump pinched steamed dumplings filled with spices & chicken and served with a wonderfully tangy dipping sauce. Great buy — 12 pot stickers at $ 8.95! Entrée wise we also got Chicken Tikka Masala, which was delish, as well as the Shrimp Tandoori. Sure the bread prices seem higher than local take-aways but they’re double sized! One order is really like two! Don’t forget to order much needed accompaniments like cool yoghurt Raita 2.95 and crispy Papadam.(Though you get spoiled getting that for free when dining in, don’t you?) All in all, we were quite pleased with this order & had leftovers for days!
