History
Established in 1922.
The Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina (EDUSC) is a diocese in The Episcopal Church.
Originally part of the Diocese of South Carolina, it became independent on October 10 – 11, 1922 following nearly two years of planning. The see city is Columbia. Its cathedral is Trinity Cathedral. The diocese comprises 61 congregations in the Upstate (northwestern) and Midlands regions of the U.S. state of South Carolina. There are five convocations in the diocese: Midlands (Columbia area), Catawba (Rock Hill area), Foothills (Greenville area), Gravatt (Aiken area), and Piedmont (Spartanburg areas).
The Rt. Rev. Andrew Waldo is the 8th Bishop of Upper South Carolina. His episcopal ordination took place on May 22, 2010, at Christ Church Episcopal, the «Parish in the heart of the city,» in Greenville, SC.

Manager
The Right Reverend W. Andrew Waldo is the Eighth Bishop of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina. He was elected in 2009. During his term as bishop, Bishop Waldo has implemented a strategic visioning process, which assists parishes in reflecting on the ways in which they can make, equip and send mature disciples of Christ.
Bishop Waldo is a member of the Study of Marriage Task Force in The Episcopal Church. He is also known for his support of and the continuation of the work of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina’s attempts to create sustainable streams of quality education, health care and clean water in Cange, Haiti and its surrounding villages. He is also part of an ecumenical initiative to improve public education by being in relationship with students by tutoring– the SC Bishops’ Public Education Initiative
Bishop Waldo was professional musician performing early classical music in Boston before being ordained a priest in (1989). He still performs professionally with his family
