We are a fine art gallery and frame shop featuring the most exceptional and extensive framing selection. Our delicately hand-carved frames are the finest around, some even imported from Italy and Spain. Accompanying our large frame selection, we have numerous matting options in many different colors, textures, and designs, as well as frame restoration and shadow box services. Our shop also features an art gallery with beautiful original artwork completed by native South Carolina artists. Stop in today or contact us for more information!

History

Established in 1968.

Robert Havens established Havens in 1968 as a retail piano dealer and in 1985 his daughter, Betsy Havens, created Betsy Havens Aesthetics, in the Vista. Later, the two joined together in a family business– five boutiques that offered custom framing located across Columbia.

In 1993, Betsy sold the smaller locations and moved into the building that Havens Framemakers resides today. Throughout this time, Havens carried furniture, home décor, jewelry and accessories in the store, still continuing to provide custom framing services.

In 2003, after 18 years of running a successful business, Betsy decided to retire and the business was sold to the current owner, Jackie Vazquez. Since then, Havens has returned to its true roots, focusing on just custom framing and original art.

Although Havens no longer carries the accessories that were adored by many, we still hold true to the tradition established 47 years ago of providing quality custom-framing to the Columbia area.

Meet the Business Owner

Jackie V.

Business Owner

Jackie Vazquez has been in the framing business with Havens Framemakers and Gallery since 1985. Jackie learned the craft of framing from Betsy Havens, the founder of Havens. Jackie purchased Havens from Betsy in 2003. Along with being a framer Jackie is also an artist. Jackie sells her landscape paintings at Havens and has developed a nice following of collectors. Jackie says she has always liked working with her hands so framing and painting come naturally. Jackie works in the Gallery daily, overseeing her staff, meeting customers and completing the more intricate tasks such as, shadow boxes, french mats and frame restoration.
