Shear Xpectations

This is a great place to get a haircut. My hair is difficult to cut and I hate going to new hair saloons. But my first time here, they welcomed me and were friendly. My hair dresser was Jenny and she is awesome. I only get my haircut by Jenny here now.
I highly recommend this place!

NoraKate is the best! I have found my go-​to salon! She listened to my hair concerns and recommended products and a routine for my hair.

I’ve been getting my haircut here with Lynn for the last 3 years and I will always. The staff there is always very friendly and helpful. There are times where I need a quick haircut and they always seem to find a way to squeeze me in. They also offer massages which I’ve gotten before and I need to get more often. A lot of hair products as well. There are far more women’s products available which isn’t surprising but they do have some men’s products. They carry the popular Paul Mitchell men’s products as well as some Bed Head and other brands. The products they carry may cost a little more than what you could get at target but they are all quality. I always feel guilty when I have to get a haircut elsewhere when they can’t squeeze me in because the experience here is the best.

Blair has been cutting my hair at Shear Xpectations for about 3 years now, and I have left happy every time. A few other girls there have cut my hair when Blair was on maternity leave, and they were all great, too. They are also much more reasonably priced than other salons offering the same level of service. The only downside is that the esthetician who does mani/​pedi and waxing doesn’t work on Saturdays.

Seriously the best salon I’ve ever been to! Celebrities belong here. Bobbie is AMAZING at eyebrows and zoey cut my hair PERFECTLY. I haven’t been to a better salon. Slightly expensive. But totally worth it. Modern, cute and the staff is friendly and very social. I wish I lived here just for this salon! Beautiful and clean :)

My daughter needed some help bad, so we went and found this place. This place was pretty cool. Very modern. Great product line and great customer service! We got hooked up with Jenny and my daughter was super pleased with her cut. She loves it! Everyone is so polite, professional, and really make you feel welcomed.

Bobbie does a great wax job and she is very nice! This place doesn’t get five stars bc it is a bit expensive. And Bobbie doesn’t work weekends :-(

I just moved here from Hawaii. Jill took hair of my new hair color and hair cut. My hair is a perfect shade of blonde and red! I also went to Bobbie for my eyebrows. My eyebrows look amazing too! Thank you Jill and Bobbie for helping me look fabulous!

I was recommended to this salon by my son’s friend who is a customer because I got a «haircut gone bad» by another salon.
After reading Unilocal reviews, I called and they were able to work me in on my time schedule. I was scheduled with Lynn. When I first walked in I was impressed with the waiting area and the salon area.
I explained what happened with the haircut and the «special needs» of my course hair. Lynn listened and took the time to talk with me and put me at ease with the dry cut she was going to give me. Lynn also took the time to give my the history of the salon and how it is a family run business.
Not only did Lynn fix the bad haircut I received she took 1 hour to give me probably the best haircut I have had in a long time. She would not let me out of the chair until I was happy with her results. Where else do you get that kind of service???
Although I live in Birmingham AL, I do visit my USC kids quite often and I will be sure to schedule my haircuts on my visits.

Bobbie IS amazing! She is so sweet and does a great job. I have followed her from her old salon and have two other friends who see her as well. I’m very picky about my eyebrows and always walk out happy.
The reason they don’t get 5 stars is because I’ve had SEVERAL incidences where the receptionist or whoever answered the phone booked my appointment wrong so there wasn’t enough time for BOTH services I tried to schedule. The salon was was less than apologetic but Bobbie bends over backwards to make you happy.

I love this salon. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful, I always receive a warm welcome, and most importantly, my stylist, Carly, is amazing. She is super-​professional and I love the way she colors, cuts, and styles my hair.
I also get my brows waxed here and Bobbie is fantastic. She’s so sweet and kind, and my brows look incredible after she fixes them up.
From the outside, this salon looks kind of blah, but the inside is really nicely decorated and comfortable. I would recommend this salon to everybody. It’s a little pricey, but worth it.

Everyone is friendly and very professional what a refreshing change. I am very particular when I do get my hair cut and styled and they nailed it the first go round.
