History
Established in 1972.
The principal owner of the law firm is Jac E. Knust, who started his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney, then as an Assistant Public Defender, and later engaging in the full time private practice of law. He is a trained mediator, appearing on Approved Mediator lists for four MD counties. He is also trained in collaborative law and interests based negotiations methods and utilizes his training to effectuate out of court settlements in most cases.

Business Owner
Jac E. Knust was born and raised in Sparrows Point, MD. Jac E. Knust is an experienced collaborative law lawyer and family mediator. He has been practicing family law in Columbia, Maryland for over 43 years. The family law cases he has taken on have included issues such as child support, custody and visitation, and divorce. He is an advocate for alternatives to the traditional divorce, including collaborative law and mediation services. Jac devotes 50% of his practice to litigation and also manages a team of collaborative lawyers. During his long tenure as a practicing attorney, Jac has handled cases beyond the scope of family law and continues to do so today. These areas include criminal law, DUI/DWI, traffic violations, motor vehicle accidents (Plaintiff), estate planning, wills, probate and estate administration, and business organizations.
