Touche Touchet Bakery

I love this bakery! My entire experience with them has been nothing short of amazing. From tasting the cake, ordering the cake, and then changing the cake, the entire staff was so accommodating!
The cake looked amazing when I picked it up! It was the star of my party! Not only did it look great, but it also tasted great as well! Everyone took pictures of it!
I’ve had other treats from here as well: tres leches, tiramisu, cupcakes, cookies, and spinach/​feta croissant! Everything has been stellar and they sure know what they’re doing! This bakery is a must try and you won’t be disappointed!

First visit was today. Everything in the display looked incredible from the croissants to even the giant cookies. It is very apparent that the bakers and decorators care about the appearance.
I will say up front that strawberry shortcake is in the top two on my dessert list. For that reason, the one I took home didnt last long enough to be captured in a pic. The cake was moist and the whipped cream was superb! Strawberries had the right balance of sweet and tart. My only complaint is the chocolate in the cake (I guess that was the swirl?). It wasnt a bad taste so much as different from what I grew up eating and this dessert is definitely one of nostalgia for me.
The red velvet cupcake was packaged in a little box that protects it for everything besides juggling. It looked just as perfect when it got home as in the store. They really care about quality in every aspect here. As for the taste, delicious! Great cocoa flavor and the cake was so moist it was incredible! There was a lot of icing but thankfully it isn’t a super sweet icing. It is creamy as can be and if used sparingly as you eat the cupcake pairs perfectly with it.
The chocolate hazelnut crunch with nutella is the last of our samplings this morning. It was soft with a good spongy chew. The hazelnuts inside gave an unexpected and much enjoyed crunch and it had just enough filling to not be overwhelming or overly sweet. Would be great with a nice cup of coffee.
I will definitely return here until I have tried every item they make a few times, just to be sure nothing was a fluke ;)

Having visited just once so far, I will give 4 stars. Future visits may get them up to 5. Their pain au chocolat (dark chocolate, of course) was the best I’ve had. Took a blueberry muffin home with me to have later — it was delicious with lots of big blueberries. Certainly worth more visits!

I love this place! This is within walking distance of my house for both me and my 3-​year-​old, so a very nice family outing. The pastries are world class delicious, but it feels like a real part of the neighborhood. The cupcakes are rich and delectable. And for regular days, I love the cookies — raspberry thumbprint and pecan are my favorite. Oh, and for breakfast — flaky, light buttery croissants filled with egg, cheese, sausage. I’m not sure I can even talk about the cannolis. I am picky about cannolis since I grew up in NJ near little Italy, and these are perfect. My husband brings me their cannolis as a foolproof get out of the doghouse free card.
Service note: this was the all time best. When I got my 3yo to walk here with me and his twin baby brothers in their stroller, I promised him we could sit together and have our cookies at the bakery. As soon as we sat down, both babies started to fuss. One of the staff came out to hold one baby, so I could hold the other and still eat my cookie. I LOVE this place. Thank you, Laurie!

Great bakery, everything I’ve tried here has been delicious. I especially love the croissants, muffins, and cookies. I haven’t had a chance to try many of the other treats, but they always look incredible. I also really enjoy the coffee here!

Yummy! The ginger snap cookies are the best! The counter person greeted us with a huge smile and was so nice and friendly. The décor of the bakery is warm and inviting. The cakes, pastries, etc are decorated beautifully. You’ve got to check this bakery out.

I love this bakery and yes, I’m a fan! They have an awesome variety of sweets (cakes, cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, etc.) at reasonable prices. Michael & Terry are great owners… very warm & welcoming! If you have not been to this location, you definitely need to check it out!

I wouldn’t wish the experience I had at Touché Touchet upon anyone especially an expecting mother.
I am pregnant and wanted to do a gender reveal cake with my family and friends. I always envisioned cutting a cake and seeing blue or pink and experiencing the news with the people that mean the most to me.
After cutting the cake we learned or thought we were having a girl, it was filled with pink icing. After spreading the word, and telling everyone we were having a girl, I decided to look Inside the envelope the tech gave me. There was a picture and a post it that said «BOY» so I looked at the envelope we have to Touché Touchet and there was two post its, one was pink one was blue and on the blue it said BOY. My guess is the tech tried to throw me off in case I could see through the envelope.
I called Touché and the manager and they seemed to be sorry and said to come in so they can handle it.
I went in and returned the cake. They asked to see the envelope, after looking at the envelope the manager didn’t seem to be apologetic at all. He said its not our fault, you should tell your friend (the ultra sound tech) she should have not put two post its in the envelope, so I said you look at colors and don’t read it? I explained that I would like a refund on the cake ($ 25) and he said he could not give me a refund because it was not their fault. He did offer me a 8inch cake when the baby is born. He kept trying to explain why the post it was wrong and why they did it wrong.
I was crying and upset and told him I was going to leave them a bad review. He flared his arms and said «ARE YOU THREATENING ME???» I said no, but you aren’t being very apologetic. He finally gave me a refund. He threw my post its with the gender reveal on his table in the back and then refused to give me my post its back because they were keeping them as «evidence.» Luckily there was another man working there that gave me the post its back.
I’m emotional, I’m pregnant and have been looking forward to this moment for so long. Touché Touchet completely ruined the experience for me. The manager had no empathy was completely rude and unprofessional. I have honestly never been treated so poorly by a business. The lack of customer service and disrespect by management has led me to write this review.
All I wanted was a simple I’m sorry for what you went through and a refund
I hope this review has some impact on your decision on whether or not to go to this bakery. Looking at other reviews the cakes and cupcakes might be good, but there is more to a business than just the product they serve.

This bakery is AWFUL. Today is the first and ONLY time I will ever get a cake from here. The cake crumbled completely before I even got it home for my friends birthday. It was supposed to be vanilla and it was chocolate. I’m pretty sure the baker doesn’t read orders before making them. The customer service was even more terrible when I called to complain about what happened. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BAKERY.

While they do offer Gluten Free option. They are not very gluten free savvy for those that NEED GF. Too small and too tight to safely get GF items here. I did not take the chance to eat.
For traditional foods, my friend is very happy to get treats here. But, not a GF Bakery :(

I was really excited about a New Orleans inspired bakery when I saw a bumper sticker for it in traffic a few months ago! I went to college down there and the food is definitely one of the things I miss most.
I finally made it over to the bakery a week or so ago, and I’m glad I popped by! The gingerbread man (uniced) that I had as well as a chocolate meringue/​pudding/​tart of some kind were both delicious!
I must have caught one of the less knowledgeable employees with my question about the availability of kings cakes, but she was perfectly helpful and suggested I call and speak to the baker himself. It looks like you can special order them, which is nice to know with Mardi Gras quickly approaching.
They also serve Community Coffee, a very common New Orleans brand of coffee. Sadly, they don’t carry the kind with chicory.
All in all, I will definitely be by again! There were many things in the cases that looked delicious.

So I’ve stopped in several more times since my first review. My favorite thing I’ve had is the iced coffee (which they just recently stopped serving for the year — and I do mean «just» — they had it on Friday, but not today), which is certainly not an every-​day drink (too full of cream and sugar) but is perfectly balanced for a once-​in-​a-​while indulgence drink. They also were handing out samples of pumpkin pie recently — I actually hate pumpkin generally, but thought that for pumpkin this was pretty well balanced — not overly sweet or spiced, and the crust seemed crisp, buttery, and flaky. I’ve had the cupcakes, which are OK — I’m not a huge fan of buttercream frosting, and all the ones they had when I got cupcakes had buttercream. They were fine, a little crumbly, but not bad — though they didn’t wow me, either. They seem to be expanding what they carry, also — I feel like they have a more diverse selection of baked goods than they used to. The walls of the small space are lined with bags of decorated cookies — I feel like it might be a great place to get on-​theme party favor cookies made and decorated for a bachelorette, baby/​bridal shower, or similar occasion. Overall, I still like and want to support this local business — and though I’m not sure it quite lives up to the hype I was initially hearing about it, I still think it’s a great place to have nearby.

Imagine a case filled with homemade bakery items: scones, cup cakes, pastries, strudels, cookies, savories and as you stand there, mulling over on what to get (which will seem like forever, since there are so many choices) someone from the kitchen brings forth even more trays, laden with additional delectables to choose from — making your decision a tougher than imagined, one.
I must have surveyed the case for nearly 15 minutes deciding on what to get.
I ended up with an apple/​caramel strudel and a savory croissant filled with feta and spinach.
I don’t even think my words can truly encapsulate how good this was. Crispy, flaky, perfectly spiced ample apple filling, more than a drizzle of caramel — crumbs falling into my lap, onto the floor, can’t even finish it. Biting into a pillowy, yet crunchy croissant and the ratio of spinach to feta, perfect.
Don’t feel like baking, do feel like baking, have company coming, it’s just for you — doesn’t matter, this is a splurge worth taking.
And I nearly forgot about the lemon cookie. It’s HUGE, tender and lemony throughout — a nice crisp on the top, yet chewy and toothsome.

Touchet touché always exceeds expectations. My girlfriend and I regularly get danishes, I just had the feta and spinach variety and it was delicious.
I also couldn’t help but get one of their harvest cookies which is just a big amalgamation of ingredients like coconut and raisins and cinnamon. That’s a favorite as well.
While I was waiting for them to heat up our Danishes, not a microwave but an real convection (?) oven, I gave in and bought a lemon crinkle cookie and the owner (?) explained his recipe and it was the best lemon cookie I’ve ever had.

Chocolate cake with fudge filling was incredibly delicious!!! The staff were excellent and very helpful with short notice. My son’s 1^st birthday cake was everything I wanted!

I had a great experience here the other weekend — I came in to sample the different pastries and baked goods and was pleasantly surprised to see that they also served beverages and sandwiches.
I ended up sitting at one of the tables to enjoy a sweet tooth lunch with my guest. We tried the iced coffee, iced tea, several tarts and several varieties of cookies. The Key Lime Tart was our overall favorite — the texture and flavors were exactly what we were hoping for, and there was even a cute little lime candy topper placed on the whipped cream topping.
It definitely seemed like this was a local favorite — on a Saturday afternoon there was a steady stream of customers placing specialty orders and taking bakery items to go.

Ordered a cake for my daughters birthday party and everyone was very impressed.

At one point, this was my favorite bakery, until I actually walked in and got cupcakes out of the fridge. The first time I did it, the cupcakes were delicious and moist. The second time I did it, every single cupcake was dry. Of course, I live quite a bit away, so I didn’t realize this until I was home (45 minutes away). For the amount you pay for the cupcakes, I was out quite a bit of money as the cupcakes weren’t edible. The third time, the cupcakes were just ok.
Now, when you actually order the cupcakes, they are delicious. I ordered some for Christmas gifts and they were a hit. I ordered some for some visiting friends and they found them to be amazing. My favorite is the german chocolate cupcakes. I also like the carrot cake, the red velvet (although the last two times I got them they tasted different and they were a brighter red, not the dark red I was used to), the cookies and cream, the strawberry (not a fan), and the peanut butter (which was ok).
I ordered my husband a red velvet cake for his 30^th birthday and it was sooooo good. I also ordered my daughter a cake for her 5^th birthday party and I was so impressed with the taste and the design.
I have decided to only order bakery items and not walk in and get anything again.

What I like about this place is that it doesn’t just have cupcakes. In fact I didn’t even see any cupcakes when I went. I saw a bunch of other delicious and tasty treats. Half of them I’m not familiar of but looked great. I just went to the farthest right and got 1 of each in that section. 5 or so different things which were all very good except the little fudge ball thingy. That was alright.
My favorites were the Strawberry Éclair and the Cannoli. The Éclair had real strawberries inside and were very creamy. It was fresh, made in the morning and the Cannoli was outstanding. It wasn’t too sweet which I loved and had a great crunch to it before feeling the creamy inside. #Pause.
They are apparently having some type of event where you try 3 of their treats and vote which 1 is best so they could choose the winner and put it up as a daily treat for us to get!
Places like these know when to change to our likings, hence why they’re still around and kicking it as the other places which sells only cupcakes are closing down because that era is played out.

I was so excited to try this bakery! I have been looking for cupcakes in the area and with the dryness of crumb cupcakes nearby at Columbia Mall, I was not pleased. Unilocal then led me to Touchet Touchet!
It was uncrowned on a Saturday afternoon. We tried the chocolate peanut butter cupcake as well as the marble cupcake. The marble cupcake was delicious was swirls of vanilla and chocolate, and very moist cake with sugary/​buttery chocolate and vanilla frosting on top! The flavors are very well-​balanced and the cake was overall very good.
The Peanut butter cupcake however was absolutely amazing! The chocolate cake had a surprise filling of chocolate fudge and the peanut butter frosting on top was thick with infused peanut butter flavor without being too sweet! The cake itself is moist not try and perfectly dense.
