This 7-Eleven doesn’t exist anymore. It has been converted to a Giant Eagle GetGo. According to , the nearest 7-Eleven location is ~60 miles away in Mansfield. Why, 7-Eleven, why?

7-Eleven Food Stores were a phenomenal break-through in 24⁄7 service. During my college years(gulp! — the 70s), these stores were mainstays for coffee, cookies, laundry soap, beer, and beef jerkey. Today, at least at this location, the 7-Eleven brand appears beaten down. The Lane Avenue location gets business from me between the hours of 8PM — 10PM weeknights due to volunteer work on campus. It’s a good place to stop for a bottled water and a Jack Links jerky bag. But the places creeps me out a bit. There always seems to be a loitering element at this 7-Eleven that cries«got spare change and smokes, buddy?», and I’m okay with that… still creepy. The store inside is borderline with floors dirty and the attendant tucked away near the back(for safety??). It’s bright enough inside(good) but outside that element of mystery lingers. Yet,… I stop while heading west on Lane. Must be the 70s calling me in.

Open 24/7, this place is like a lifeline for me, but I wish it sold body wash and had a better brand of hand sanitizer in stock. I’m glad to see that campus-area cops stop by here every so often to hang out and(I assume) check up on the place. It can get sort of messy on football Saturdays, so just be wary of that.
