Bubbles Tea & Juice Company

Not a fan of Bubbles Tea & Juice Company. This was my first boba experience in Columbus, but having grown up in Los Angeles, I’ve had accessible boba and better boba elsewhere. The flavors do seem to be off. Something about it doesn’t feel fresh. When I’m in the area, I’ll get something (without boba), just because the people I’ve interacted with here have been particularly nice!

Tea doesn’t have much of a flavor. Very weak. Tastes like sweet water.
Have solid tea and learn from popular boba places. Add grass jelly, add Oolong tea. You can make this place better!

I don’t recall what it was called but I ordered a smoothie with orange juice, strawberry, and yogurt. I added banana as well. The drink I got tasted like a strawberry slushie. I don’t think there was any yogurt in it. All ice and strawberry syrup. My husband got the kiwi tea with bubbles and enjoyed it. He also got to enjoy my «smoothie».

I don’t think I’ve ever had bubble tea so bad.
I love North Market, and they gave me Thai tea that literally was water, I told them so and got a milk tea instead, which was much worse.
They were nice, but the even talked about how the tea wasn’t brewed for long at all before they served it to me.
I was really disappointed and it was more expensive than average.
Would not buy from here again :(

Okay so let’s get things straight. I love bubble tea. I had it for the first time year ago and ever since then I have been trying it when I see it.
Bubble Tea & Juice Company had delicious flavor in their teas and juices. I got the Chai bubble tea and I loved the flavor! The mistake I made was getting the flavored jelly strips! I love the tapioca balls but the guy who worked here recommended the jelly strips saying they were just like the tapioca balls… They were not like them at all. Do not get the jellies especially if you have food texture problems. I could not enjoy my tea because I got them. Do not get me wrong though, this place is not bad! I just hated the jellies so much it messed my whole experience up.
I will eventually get the Chai bubble tea again with tapioca balls and I am sure I will love it! GET THE TAPIOCA BALLS!

This is just based on the 1 drink I got – but it was the perfect amount of sweet to tangy ratio. I got the ginger, mint, limeade – full of real mint and a chunk of ginger. Tasted so fresh and is the perfect balance when eating a lot of heavier foods – like donuts and waffles in the north market!

I ordered a regular taro milk tea with coconut jelly. The taro was very tasty, but the jelly didn’t have much of a tast at all. More of a texture added to the drink. I also thought there was a bit too much ice. If I’m paying almost $ 4 for a drink, I would hope to have more to drink than just waiting on the ice to melt. Overall it was an alright experience. Very yummy, but I will need to find a cheaper place for bubble tea.

Bubbles has really good fresh juices for a great price. I always get a fresh green juice with: kale, celery, Apple, lemon & parsley. Delish!
Tip: order it over ice to keep it cold.

I am not usually picky about my bubble tea. HOWEVER, this place is without a doubt makes WORST milk tea that I’ve tried. I had to throw it out after my first sip!
I tried the green jasmine (my go-​to at milk tea stores) and matcha. It was awful. The tea was not even tea to be honest – it was just sugar water. The boba was also very dry and hard. Both of these can be easily avoided! Just add less sweetener and don’t refrigerate your boba!
If you’ve never tried bubble tea before, don’t use this place as your standard. It is not authentic Taiwanese tea. Don’t waste your time, money, or calories on this place. If I could, I would give this establishment 0 stars.
If you are in the North Market, there are so many better places for you to go!

Ordered the orange sherbet smoothie and it came out very liquid-​y with ice chunks. Not well blended at all.

If you consider yourself a bubble tea fan, don’t waste your money or calorie intake here. I’m reviewing for the Thai tea milk tea.
Finding bubble tea in Columbus was my goal for the trip. When we walked into North Market, I was so delighted that Bubbles was there. How delightfully simple to find good bubble tea in Columbus, right? WRONG. I ordered a large Thai tea milk tea with tapioca (bubbles). Thai tea is a pretty common option at any other boba shop.
When the barista handed it to me, it was a pale orange — Thai tea usually comes as a rich rust color. Just by looking at it, I knew there was too much milk and not enough tea. I decided to give it a try. I honestly thought I’d taken a drink of an old drink that’d been sitting out a while… but that was impossible! I saw them make it! I realized that the pearls (despite the correct texture) were soaked/​cooked in plain water. It’s supposed to be prepared with brown sugar, to give it some sweetness. There was no way it was prepared that way. The tea to milk ratio was very unbalanced.
The only time I’ve had a drink that tasted like that was when I let the last of my bubble tea sit in the sun, forgot about it as the ice melted, and I decided to pick it up again, forgetting how long it’d been since I last took a sip.
After a few sips, I just threw it out. I wasted ~$ 5 here, for an unsatisfactory drink. Don’t do the same.

I’ve never had bubble tea until I ran into this place, and I have to say that it’s much like tea only with these small blueberry sized balls that have the consistency of gummy bears and don’t seem to carry any distinct flavor. For me it didn’t bother that much. Over all I liked the tea

Really enjoyed my milk tea with tapioca pearls. Asked for a flavor suggestion and she made a great one! Taro– kinda tasted like a hazelnut.

We had just eaten at Double Comfort, but since we parked at NM we went in to get validated and look around a bit. Not much time to browse, and we’ll have to come back for some things we’ve been needing, but Sweetie wanted some tea so we ended up here. She had a peppermint tea and loved it. I tasted it, and it was really good: full of flavor, a bit sweet, a good winter tea. They apparently make their own teabags, and I saw they sell loose tea. There were some tea accessories on a shelf too. Service was really good– very friendly and fast, but patient and eager to explain stuff.
I wasn’t up for anything to drink but they had a variety of teas, bubble teas, and smoothies, and a cooler with root beer, water, etc.

I didn’t think that bubble tea could taste so different from one another. I was wrong.
We went with the passionfruit bubble tea with tapioca pearls and passionfruit flavored bubbles. Right away after taking one sip my boyfriend and I looked at each other and said, «That’s not very good.» We kept drinking it trying to see what it was that was off. The passionfruit had no pulp in it what-​so-​ever. It tasted more like a stale passionfruit tea bag rather than a fresh pressed juice infused with tea. That is the only way I know how to describe it.
I feel bad giving only two stars but «Meh. I’ve experienced better» is exactly how I am feeling about this place.

Bubbles Tea & Juice Co. satisfied my bubble tea craving! The friendly employee was very helpful and gave me details of the different bubble tea flavors. They had a few special flavors, including honeydew and coconut. I opted for the honeydew, but they were sold out, so after some consulting, I ended up going with lavender. It was fantastic, and possibly my new go-​to flavor. You can choose to have it with or without the tapioca balls (with, of course!), and the sweetness can be altered to your liking.

Bubbles has been a mixed bag each time I’ve stopped in. Some days the drinks absolutely hit the spot, and other days they’re just meh. I’ve had the most luck so far with the fruity bubble teas, but even those are hit or miss.
I ordered a milk tea, almond, with soy milk, and the server kinda went, «Are you sure?» He explained that they use unsweetened soy milk, so unless you add sweetener to it, it’ll taste pretty blech. He offered to add a bit of sugar, and I said yes, but it’s still not the same, and he was right. It wasn’t great, and I won’t be getting milk teas with soy milk there again. Thing is, sweetened soy milk often tastes even better than real milk (I know some would disagree, but it’s worth shopping around; different soy milk brands vary considerably), while unsweetened soy milk tastes rather like armpit. It’s unfortunate when you pay 50 or 75 cents more for your drink to taste 50 or 75 cents worse. Still, he *did* warn me, and that was very cool of him. It’s why Bubbles gets three stars instead of two.
Getting a smoothie without their ubiquitous yogurt isn’t quite as disappointing, but they’re still really not made to be nondairy. I had the Tropical Paradise, which has only a gazillion ingredients in it, so you’d think they’d function harmoniously without the yogurt, and they do, but the drink did not feel substantial like a smoothie should.
Bubbles has been A-​OK when I’ve stuck with menu items as they’re listed and not tried to make substitutions. I haven’t yet had their loose leaf teas because the fancy blendy stuff always sounds so enticing, but I’m still open to giving them a go.

Being such a promoter of all things local, i find it very disheartening to write a review that isn’t positive. However I’m not here to sugarcoat my experiences. I’m here to give you the real deal. I have visited Bubbles Tea & Company on three separate occasions, and have never walked away feeling great about my interaction with the employees. I’ve never walked away thinking this was the best bubble tea I’ve ever had. It has in fact been quite mediocre. Why did I go back two more times? I think I was hoping for an improved experience. The convenience factor and medium price point along with a rewards program is also desirable. We’ll see if I go for ’round four’ or if I’m calling this a strike and walking out.

I ordered a milk tea with boba. It’s the most standard drink you can order so I figured they could make it well but I was terribly mistaken
The tea itself literally tasted like water with some tea diluted into it. There was no sweetness at all. The boba itself had an ok texture and chewy was but again, no taste. Boba is traditionally supposed to have a sweet taste to it because it’s cooked with sugar.
I immediately threw it in the trash. It is a sad day when you have to throw away a full boba milk tea

Bad bubble tea.
Taro milk tea flavour was passable but a little diluted. Not cold enough (maybe it would be better to blend with ice?). The tapioca pearls were the biggest problem though. First I thought they were just stingy with them, they were also a bit tough. But now, as I drink the last sips of the milk tea, I see a huge clump of stuck together tapioca pearls at the bottom — no wonder I wasn’t getting any through the straw. Most likely there is little demand for the tapioca pearls and they are sitting in a bucket getting stuck together most of the day. Considering the big lineups this place always has, will look elsewhere for bbtea.
