Columbus Gives Back

I have had nothing but great experiences with Columbus Gives Back! The people who lead the events are very inviting and personable. They have great diversity of events that make you feel like you made a difference when you are done. My favorite two are the Ronald McDonald house and Faith mission. You bake cookies for the residents at the Ronald McDonald House. With Faith mission you have the opportunity to serve dinner to people in need of a hot meal. I have never had a bad experience and really love the #socialtwist they do after ever event. They almost always find a restaurant near the volunteer site to go to afterwards. It gives the group an opportunity to mingle in a more social atmosphere. I have met great people and Love what CGB has to offer!

I had my first experience with Columbus Gives Back yesterday — I have to say this is a WONDERFUL idea and seems to be run extremely well. They seemed to be very organized and all the other volunteers I met with the group were super friendly and nice. The group makes volunteering easy — flexible, easy to sign up, and fun! I’ve done my fair share of volunteering in the past (Unfortunately I’ve had to tell myself that performing good deeds was making up for the pain on a few occasions.), and I’m looking forward to doing some more work with this group.

My first experience with Columbus Gives Back was working with the group as a nonprofit partner. I was in need of volunteers for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, a 5K walk. The leadership was great at communicating throughout the recruitment process. At the event, all staff members who worked with the volunteers loved doing so and the volunteers had great feed back too.
I’ve also had the pleasure of volunteering myself. I love that the group offers a variety of organizations to become involved with. The flexibility has provided me a volunteer experience that works with my schedule. The other volunteers have always been wonderful and I know I’ll continue to volunteer and recommend to friends.

I love the Columbus Gives Back crew. I have volunteered with them multiple times and always have fun. Wonderful concept… one time volunteer projects, meet people and then hang out with the group after (drinks, lunch, etc.)
My favorite things about this group:
1. Flexibility — you can sign up to help out whenever you want. Once a week or once a year. I’ve added my name to events the night before if there were still open spots. It’s great for my schedule.
2. The People — great way to make new friends and network. Very caring and enjoyable group of people to be around. Juliana, the group founder, and her team of project leaders help newbies feel welcome.
3. Causes — wide range of volunteer projects. You can choose to help with projects that matter to you. This is always important to me when choosing volunteer groups.
«It’s service with a social twist.» I recommend this group to all of my friends and I definitely recommend it to all my Unilocal-​ers. Get on the newsletter and get involved :)
