Columbus Technical College is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia that has been part of the community for more than 50 years. Columbus Tech has four divisions: General Studies, Health Sciences & Nursing, Business, and Professional/​Technical. Our mission is to prepare students for the workforce with a quality, skills-​driven education. Annual enrollment is approximately 6,100 students. We are located in Columbus, Georgia — about 1.5 hours south of Atlanta.

History

Established in 1961.

Columbus Technical College is a two-​year public college in Columbus, Georgia. It offers technical certificates of credit, diplomas and associate degrees. The College is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). There are plenty of financial aid options including Georgia’s HOPE Grant and Scholarship, the Federal Pell Grant, VA, and extremely affordable tuition.

I wouldn’t recommend this school to anyone that relocates to Columbus. They do not provide financial aid for out of state students. Also, you are not entitled to a refund of any size if you drop a class after the 3rd day. I’ve never heard of anything like that. Oh… don’t plan on going to the math computer testing lab during the scheduled hours. The school is having problems with keeping it staffed. It’s possible that the lab won’t even be open, and you may have to test in an another class while a professor is teaching. This place is a waste of time.

I am enrolled in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program here at Columbus Tech. I’ve had a bit of a ride since I started, but it’s owed more to my inexperience in college rather than the school itself. I’ve had some great instructors and a couple of weird ones. Mr. Crumpton is great for BIO 2113 and 2114. Mr. Valentin is the best Medical Terminology instructor of ALL time. I’m so ready for Summer quarter to be OVER. :)
