A friend was telling me about this place and even though I’ve passed by it many times I’ve never noticed it, because it’s down some stairs, on a corner, tucked away. I walked down and the people working there hardly even looked my way, but the enormous pile of corned beef convinced me to stay. Initially I’d come to get the breakfast Id heard so much about, but then I figured why limit myself simply because it was breakfast time? I decided to have a corned beef on rye for breakfast — and I didn’t regret it — it was one of the best ones I’ve had in years. I know this will become a regular stop every time I’m in town. Can’t wait to try other things at this deli.

Being a guy from Cleveland it’s hard to get a downright great corn beef sandwich just like it’s hard to find a great polish boy. But danny’s is about as close as i’m going to get. I truly enjoyed the cornbeef. Not too long of a wait and I went during lunch hour duing the regular work week. I’m very upset with the price of my food for the size. I got to sandwiches for me and a co workere and it came to 22 dollars. For the size of those sandwiches in Cleveland it should have been double the size. I say save your money and look elsewhere.

I LOVE this place. I work across the street from it and I rarely get sick of their food. Their food is really good and I have many favorites from the Roast Beef Philly to the Chicken Salad Sandwich. The servers are great and quick, which is important when your on lunch from work. I wish they had more TV’s. I like to watch the news while on lunch. Finally, they have breakfast and it is super tasty and very reasonable!!!

I only gave this 5 stars because I couldn’t give them more! I recently had the pleasure of trying Danny’s Deli. I ordered the Corned Beef Rueben and was blown away! From the loads of meet to the perfectly toasted Rye, their Rueben is hands down the best I have ever had. The deli was packed at the lunch hour(try the food and it will all make sense), the staff was super friendly and I even got a chance to meet Mr. Danny and Mrs Nikki. After meeting those two, it is obvious Danny’s Deli will be the«MUSTTRY» deli for anyone visiting Columbus as well as the«GOTO» comfort food for columbus residents for years to come! I’m going to work my way through the entire menu. Great food, Great People Great Atmosphere, I highly recommend Danny’s Deli!

Great lunch spot in downtown Columbus. Danny’s has quick service and a full menu of what you’d expect at a deli. I personally like the Mary’s Favorite and really just about any of their hot sandwiches. The place is crowded every time I’m there, though, I’ve never had to wait for a table. So many happy customers is a good indication as to the quality of their food and service.

I ate here after approximately seven years today, and immediately regretted not coming back sooner. My order: half of the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of the chicken paprikash soup(special). My regrets: I didn’t order the full sandwich and annihilated the soup too fast. So good and I’m rejoicing that I work directly across from the restaurant. Yay!

The food was good, but the place is a little dirty. Service was friendly.

Their corned beef is the best I’ve had in the city, hands down. Large portions make the prices a bit easier to swallow. I’m interested to try other menu options, but I’m not sure I can resist ordering the corned beef every time. Do yourself a favor and try the New Yorker — the crunchy, sweet slaw and subtle Swiss cheese pair perfectly with the meat.

Now, THIS is how corned beef is done! Not some mirage(please see Katzinger’s) posing as a corned beef sandwich. Although this is a little late, my corned beef memory stayed strong, albeit 3 months later. I met my sister, nephew and bro-in-law for lunch back in March. We had to order quickly because they close early in the afternoon and are not open on the weekends, which I find respectable. I ordered the Jawbreaker corned beef and a cup of matzo ball soup and I couldn’t have been more please with my order. The Matzo ball soup was super flavorful and a great warm up for the coming attraction. The corned beef was everything I had hoped for and expected. Piles of hot corned beef, between two excellent pieces of Jewish Rye and no gimmicks; this is what a corned beef sandwich should be like. Tack on a courteous staff and this is one great little place. They don’t try hard with corny names or overpriced sandwiches; they keep it simple with great service and great food. This has become my undisputed corned beef sandwich champion in Columbus.

I checked out this place last week when I took a half day. It was my only chance to try it, since they’re only open during the week until 3 pm. I’ll start out by saying that if you don’t work downtown and can walk over to this place, it’s a real pain in the ass to find parking. I parked on Broad at a 30 minute spot and rushed over to get in, get my order, and get out. That’s nothing against the deli, but it’s fair warning to anyone wanting to scope this place out during the week. Like other reviewers have said, the restaurant has a Broad St address, but it actually faces out onto Front St. Once I got in there, it reminded me of some of the delis I’d been to in New York City. It was very busy with Columbus lunch break in full affect, but I had scoped out the menu ahead of time and knew I wanted the«baby» Reuben. The guy at the counter was brusque, but with how many orders and people coming in, he didn’t have much time for bullshit. My order was out in about 5 – 10 minutes. This may be the smallest size Reuben they have, but it’s still pretty bulky. Unless you’re starving, this sandwich could definitely fill you up. And the corned beef? Phenomenal. That was some of the best corned beef I’ve had anywhere. The sauerkraut and Swiss, along with the delicious rye bread it was on, made for a great Reuben. You can get a side of Thousand Island with it, but it honestly didn’t really need it. I’m not sure if I’ll get back to Danny’s again. Not because I didn’t love my sandwich, but the logistics simply don’t work out for me. If I worked downtown, I’m sure I’d be here all the time. They have a fairly large menu as well, so I’m disappointed I probably won’t get to try the rest of it. If you work downtown and have never been here, you’re missing out on a great spot.

Finally, I found a place in Columbus that serves what I consider«real» corned beef. As I have relocated from Cleveland where we get the«real deal» deli meats, I was glad to see that Danny’s Deli also had a location here. My wife and I shared the«jawbreaker» which was delicious and also not greasy along with some excellent french fries. Portions are very good and our meal was complemented by a Dr. Brown’s black cherry soda which goes along perfectly with corned beef. Service was very good and the atmosphere is fun and energetic due to the downtown lunch crowds that flock there for the good food. Thank you Danny’s Deli– we certainly will be back.

I’ve tried most and would pit Danny’s up against them all in a cage match. Their corned beef is high on my list if reasons I miss Columbus.

I did a call-in order. Drove, but I should have walked-sorry city of Columbus for my illegal park job! I was hungry! The chicken salad was tassssty. The lady who took my phone order was a little smug, but the guy at the counter was awesome. I can’t wait to try to corned beef, but I’ll have a hard time parting with chicken salad… so long as I get a pickle. :) yum!

This place is really close to my new office. I wanted a sandwich and noticed this next door to Jimmy John’s on Front. I chose takeout instead of dining in. The service was really fast. In the time it took me to fill up my drink, my order was ready. I had ordered a chicken salad sandwich and chicken noodle soup. They threw in some crackers and pickles too. Both the sandwich and the soup were excellent, although I should have limited myself to half of the sandwich because it was stuffed with chicken salad and filled me up before I got to the soup. Definitely bigger than it looks. My only gripe is for the sandwich, soup, and drink it was a little over $ 12. So, I will definitely go back for the quality, but I won’t go often. Maybe once a month as a treat.

Danny’s has been my choice for breakfast. Downtown special is great! As well as the Breakfast special. Fresh eggs and the sausage is great!

Very good and reasonable priced breakfast. The Breakfast special wrap is hard to beat. The corned beef is delicious and you get a ton of it. I recently tried the pastrami and OHMAN was it good. Nothing like what you would get at a grocery store deli. This place is the real deal. It can be on the expensive side but they don’t skimp on the portions.

I do not visit Danny’s very often because it is a bit pricey. However, when I do visit I always buy the Hot Corned Beef sandwich($ 9) due to its deliciousness! They offer a ‘jawbreaker’ version, which I have not tried since the regular size is big enough! The place offers both sit-down service and carryout — makes it very nice for choices! The sit-down service is usually really good even on crowded days. I have to admit that their fries are okay — not the biggest fan of them. I wish they were salted because after eating half the pack my palate gets bored with eating them. If you happen to be in the Capital Square area visiting the Statehouse or other local venues, I highly recommend Danny’s Deli for a different kind of experience! 4⁄5 stars

Don’t be confused with the address. They are actually on S Front St. just south of W Broad St. under a bright red awning. I’ve only been to Danny’s for the breakfast menu, so I can only comment on the ‘Breakfast Special Wrap.’ The wrap consists of two eggs, scrambled with cheese, bacon and homefries wrapped in a tortilla. This wrap has such a great taste, I try to get one at least twice a week For $ 3.95, this is a big breakfast wrap.
