Business Owner

Emily Emza Uphill is a 4^th generation furniture weaver with 2 decades of experience. At the age of 14 she started helping her father Bill, of Bill’s Caning & Rushing, with his work load; first learning how to hand cane, then sheet cane, rush and splint weave chairs, canoe panels, and other functional items.

Emza received her Bachelors of Fine Art from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Fine Art from University of Colorado at Boulder. There she taught 3 years of undergraduate 2D, 3D and time based art. Both in her studio practice and in teaching, Emza has had an emphasis on craftsmanship and perfection of finished work. She strives to do the highest quality weaving restoration for each and every client.
