We have been taking our Volvo’s to Steve and his staff for over 20 years and they are honest, hard working and do a great job. They even do work for us for free when it’s something small. They are so good that I begged them to work on my other car (not a Volvo) but they are so good and busy with their Volvo business they just couldn’t (although they did take a glacé and gave us a recommendation).
I can’t say enough about this shop and Janey at the front desk and Ted in the back are just the best. They have also recommended Volvo’s (type and year) when we were in the market for one. They are such experts!!!
It’s truly hard to find a mechanic you trust but this one is above board in everything they do.
If you have a Volvo this is the ONLY place you should be taking it for service!

Went here for my first time as I am new to the area and I wanted quality mechanics without dealership prices. After I saw the reviews online, I checked them out and they are honest, knowledgeable mechanics that were able to do the work I asked (overdue trans fluid change and software update) for under the price quoted. They explain everything on your bill, and I will go there again for many major maintenance I cannot do myself. They have the VIDA software, a MUST for transmission work. This place is a must-​know for Volvo owners in Columbus.

Well, here we are, three years later, and I’m getting ready to drive Nora back across the country to California. The folks at European Auto Works have done a fantastic job of keeping her running through snow and ice and sun and one small accident. Janie has always been able to squeeze me in when something goes wrong and I need work done asap. Ted and the rest of the staff is great about figuring out what needs to be done right away for safety reasons, what can wait until I have a little more money at hand, and what should be worked on simultaneously in order to save some costs on labor. They’re fabulous about breaking down what is being done and what the charges are for. And if you spend any time in their waiting room, you’ll realize that the people who come here to get their cars worked on are loyal customers who return time after time and are known on a first-​name basis by Janie and the mechanics.
As a single woman, a prime target for bad or shady mechanics, I am incredibly thankful for these guys and their work. I recommend them wholeheartedly and will definitely miss them when I leave Columbus.

You get what you pay for… so you can pay someone who says they work on Volvo… until you breakdown on the freeway…
or you can pay these guys who will fix it right the first time.

At $ 98 per hour for labor, they are a giant waste! Tried to tell me my car needed new brakes for over $ 500 (it does not per the Volvo Dealer); tried to tell me the MAF sensor was bad (it was not per the Volvo dealer) but rather it was a $ 20 gas cap that had a bad rubber seal! Plus the Volvo dealer was running a free Check Engine Light deal as opposed to this store that «has to recoup my $ 20,000 annual VADIS computer fee somehow!» Rude & Arrogant and they try to take advantage of people who they think don’t know Volvo. BEWARE!!!

I recently purchased a 1993 Volvo 940 for my 16 year old niece that needed some work so we took it to European Auto Works for service. It had several issues that we wanted them to look at (issues with gas gauge, air conditioner and battery) and some we didn’t even know about. The staff was fantastic!
They looked everything over and gave us estimates on what we should fix to get the car running better and what was optional (nice to have’s). They helped us prioritize what we really needed to do. The got the work done quickly and the car is running better than it probably has in years.
We recently had a slight issue with the acceleration cable and I was able to call them, explain the issue over the phone and setup a time for them to take a quick look. When I took the car in, the mechanic looked at it and was able to fix the issue (a loose bolt) it in a matter of minutes!
We will definitely be back for our future repair needs!

Totally botched a pre sale vehicle inspection and ended up costing us over $ 1100 in repairs for issues they should have caught. When we asked for a refund they denied fault and tried to blame it on everything but themselves. Rude owner, bad service and bad policies.
