Established in 1941.

The Greater Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau was incorporated in 1941 as a private, non-profit organization to promote Columbus as a convention destination. In June 2003, the GCCVB started doing business as Experience Columbus in an effort to make the organization and its core missions more identifiable to local residents, leisure travelers and convention and meeting professionals.

The Experience Columbus Visitor Center — Easton was opened in 2003 in conjunction with Steiner and Associates, the owners of Easton Town Center. The visitor center helps create experiences for nearly 100,000 visitors annually.
