I so badly wanted to like our local establishment but I think they have some problems keeping up with weekend traffic. Orders got lost with volume of customer and staff just kind of looked at each other quizzically instead of fixing issues. Has potential but needs some love.

Coffees good– perhaps a bit on the pricier side. food good, pastries are amazing (the croissant is excellent) but most importantly they are very kind to our pup here!!! I love how dog friendly they are and we usually get a little biscuit too. We come here a lot but we probably wouldn’t be here as much if they weren’t nice to our dog:)

I have loved my past experiences here, but this morning rubbed me the wrong way. My boyfriend and I arrived a little after 8am and the closed sign was still up. No big deal — we decided to wait outside. There was an employee inside and she chose to ignore us. It would have been nice if she took a second to inform us she was running behind, instead of diverting eye contact. Customer service was definitely lacking. Makes me think twice about where I choose to get my coffee.

I am committing a Unilocal sin. Nothing too bad, nothing against the TOS, but I am doing an informal no-​no. It’s one of our prodigal son Mike G’s «thou shall nots» listed on his review of Unilocal.But since Mike’s gone, and we’re free at last I am gonna do it; while the cats away the mice will play.
I am reviewing a place as I sit in it; a real-​time description of the experience as it happens. So, so taboo.
Relax, don’t click that flag button, I’ve been here before, a quick stop on my way elsewhere. I won’t decide my rating until I go. And will not send until I am home.
I forget what this use to be; perhaps a bank with the drive-​through out front. Today the portico is used for a patio. It kind of looks like a artist studio, gallery, or antique shop from the sidewalk. Underneath the arching portico are what looks like art pieces, and a cello. My perception must be influenced by the places name, because on closer inspection it is not art but weathered cookout items; they just look like items in a Urbex photo.
Ordering is done at the bar right in from the door. The seating is separated by a hallway which features the work of an Etch-​a-​sketch artist. Never heard of that before, but his work is impressive. There are a few seats up against the windows here, but the space is small. Other than those choices, you can’t really order, go get a seat, and return like more open spaces, which could make an awkward wait but the bubbly barista today had my large mocha done fast.
Why does it smell like Chicken and Noodles here? Do they serve food? It smells like Chicken and noodles, maybe dumplings, with lots of pepper. I have to check this out.
They do! The small menu at the front can be easily missed. It is not Chicken or noodles though, but pad Thai. They also have pot pies and a couple other items. Smells good. I am not having any though. I have plans later. This review will judge only its coffee and atmosphere.
I am really digging the space. There’s photos on the wall, nature shots, prints floating in glass around rustic wood frames. The walls are mainly white brick. The ceiling are dark grey moldings. There are small windows, three rows of six.. . wait! Those are garage doors. This place wasn’t a bank, it was a garage. Now why didn’t I notice that coming in?
Wow does it smell good.. . Ok, focus now – décor. What else? The furniture is rustic and distressed. I like the black bistro table I am sitting at. Right of me is a craft room with typical craft stuff for sale: there are purse bags, marble looking cut outs of Africa, knits, pottery, some kind of weird looking owl, jewelry, candles and scents, a bike tire for some reason, and a mirror. They have post cards too, the spinner is in front of me. Great photography. I see a black and white of an Indian, a couple French drawings, local photos like the corner of –Olentangy Blvd and Orchard Lane?! What? Now who would send a postcard of…oh never mind, I am digressing. Let me spin this. Ok Park of Roses, that makes more sense.
The people: it is the young, pro, hipster, and student set. Most are pounding away at their laptops, or in conversation. The seating here is in the community interaction philosophy like Fox in the Snow or Tasi, with long table for multiple parties rather than small separate seating.
Where is the restrooms? I need to go. It must be that door in the craft room people keep going in and out if. One second. Yep it is there. Unisex and single use, their restroom is perfectly clean. (I am not writing this in there FYI) They have reading material for those that need to spend time there. Lots of progressive literature. In fact, Global is filled with progressive papers, signs, and flyers. Not a surprise for a fair trade place.
Oh the mocha! I bet people would want to know what I think about this. It came in a big red cup and was very smooth. Maybe too smooth. I am not a coffee expert, so. I don’t have the concepts to describe what I like and don’t like about a mocha. My best attempt is to say I like the smoothness, but the taste of chocolate is lacking in the middle of the cup. The top taste milky sweet, the middle more like expressos in hot water, the bottom syrupy chocolate. So I’d say it was good but inconstant in uniformity, if that makes any sense. I would order it again.
All in all, I love the atmosphere, the aesthetics; the coffee was prety good.

Definitely a great place to study. Coffee was okay. Savory treat was served lukewarm.

It’s a nice shop with a great outside patio. The fact that they dedicate their entire business to fair trade practices says something. Good coffee, baristas, and location.
The price is right about average for single pour coffee, but their serving size is low. The small is an 8oz, which to me, is just silly. But hey, some people might be into getting just a lil pick me up. Something I do appreciate is when you order a small coffee, they let you know how small it is, in case you weren’t aware and wanted to have a bigger cup.
I most recently got their pumpkin latte, which is really good. The pumpkin isn’t too overpowering and I definitely appreciate that. I will frequent this coffee shop.

This adorable coffee shop is right across the street from where I practice yoga. There is a ton of outdoor seating as well as indoor. This is a great place for meetings, studying, or getting a cup of coffee with a friend. There is a shop connecting to the coffee shop with global gifts to purchase. This is a nonprofit, fair trade coffee shop so your money benefits more people!
Great, quality coffee as well! There are many options for vegans, which is really nice! They offer soy, almond and coconut milk as well as a variety of regular milk.

Such a great place to study or enjoy a cup of coffee. Absolutely awesome outdoor seating. Coffee is awesome. And the beer selection is nice and local. Must try to pad Thai noodles!

Global Gallery is a Clintonville Treasure!
Delicious coffee, really affordable prices, friendly service, fresh pastries and local Gluten Free treats. Located right across the street from a Starbucks and ain’t affected one bit! There’s always a crowd on their outside patio no matter what time of day.
My favorite treat: Coconut Milk Café Au Lait with stevia and cinnamon.

The best egg salad in central Ohio really worth dying for. You got to try their quiche and pot pies. You make a mistake to pass this place up

GG is my true love. Fair trade coffee AND they use Snowville Creamery milk (from grass-​fed cows.) They also have an awesome selection of food/​treats (including vegan and gluten free options if that’s you!) #%*$ Starbucks.

Nice cozy place and has awesome coffee that goes to a good cause. There’s also a mini shop inside this café where they sell handmade things from people around the world. The money that you pay help people and you get great coffee and cute things great for souvenirs.

This is the best place to go! I love the sweets and the tea highly recommend trying it out!

I came up from Cincinnati and hadn’t been here in awhile. The interior change was impressive! Last time I was here, it was cool but a bit cluttered. It’s been repainted in a soothing grey and white, the furniture is warm woods and painted turquoise, the bathroom has been redone and there’s a sense of flow where you can slow down and appreciate the fair trade goods on shelves.
The honey bear latte was wonderful… not too sweet and served piping hot in a hand painted mug. They were serving a Salvadoran breakfast as part of an international women’s day presentation. Homemade refried beans and tortillas, scrambled eggs, fresh avocado and salsa… yum! The array of desserts is expansive and my biggest challenge was choosing. The presentation was moving and I’ve such appreciation that a tiny coffee shop in Columbus, Ohio remembers its connection to growers in the wider world not just in marketing but also in the very fiber of how they run this place.

I’ve only been here once while traveling. But on that one occasion I had the rare chance to have a truly great espresso. Thick crema. Subtle and silky flavor. Well done, barista. Well done.

I took my car in for service at Bernie’s garage and decided to go on a local walkabout… Stumbled upon Global Gallery/​fair trade coffee. Quaint. Friendly. Soooooo Clintonville! Conversations ranged from what books to read, to the best place to have dinner, to the best board games of 2014. And don’t let me forget to add that the coffee was very very very good as well. They also have a quaint little gift shop of handmade global goods. Madded + were photographs displayed of a local photographer named Ua Chamberlain… quite lovely. On a scale of 5, I give global gallery 4 spoons!

Whether you’re just looking for somwehere to pop in and grab a coffee and pastry, sit and read a book, or do a bit of shopping for unique gifts, Global Gallery is the spot. They’ve always got lots of local confections on hand from Dan the Baker, Pattycake Bakery, and more. They brew a mean espresso, too– and there’s not ususally a line to the door like the *other* coffee shop just south of here.
Since I don’t work in Clintonville anymore, I’m not up here as regularly, but this is where I used to get a lot of my beans for coffee at home. They’ve got a pretty decent selection at standard prices for the quality.
And of course, I can’t forget to mention all of the fair-​trade handcrafted goods you can get here! A perfect little shop to grab gifts (for yourself, or someone ya love!)

I’ve been really terrible about reading lately and was looking for a close, quiet coffee shop to rectify this on my lunch break. I consulted Unilocal and headed over to Global Gallery!
There are a few parking spaces in the back. I found one and parked. It was a bit of a struggle to get out of, but it worked! The spots are limited so I’m not sure where you’d park if they were full; maybe on the side street?
I walked in and was greeted almost immediately by an extremely friendly employee. He was very happy to make my iced green tea (they only had mint, which was fine by me) and pita with hummus. They had a square machine, which made checking out (and tipping, if you so desire) very easy. The tea was great, and served in a mason jar, which always adds a certain amount of charm. The hummus was good; the pita tasted like whole wheat.
While I was there, I saw a few people working, a couple of meetings, and a few people relaxing. The environment wasn’t as quiet as I had hoped for the first few minutes I was there, as a group of 4 was having a rather loud meeting. But it quieted down eventually, and even the meeting was totally tolerable. I was able to focus on my book uninterrupted, which I appreciated!
There is a bin in the back to put your dirty dishes. I saw a trash can in the front of the store where I threw away my hummus. I didn’t get to explore the gifts section of the store, though I wanted to! I saw some really adorable mugs in the front that I’m still thinking about, and I’m sure the things in the back are just as endearing.
Overall, I loved my experience at Global Gallery! I can definitely see this being my go-​to spot for some quiet reading and relaxation. I can’t wait to come back!

This was a quick stop in our afternoon journey. But, I came here with my girl friend during the Clintonville farmer’s market on a Saturday. If you don’t know where Global Gallery is, it’s smack in the middle of the Farmer’s Market.
I ordered an Iced Caramel Coffee and it was delicious. I could have most certainly ordered another one. We spent about 30 minutes sitting inside (their outside seating was filled) just chatting. It’s a very quite and quaint coffee place.
There wasn’t much interaction with the employees since we both just ordered a simple coffee, but they were friendly when we did speak with them.
If I lived in Clintonville, I would certainly come back. I’m sure I will return with my friend when I come to visit!

Good coffee, cool little local trinkets for sale. Great place to chill during the Farmer’s Market.

The Global Gallery is an excellent choice for FAIR TRADE products, coffee and gifts! The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is inviting and charming. Lots of great people watching and superior treats, coffee and even some grocery items! Love love love this place!

I was craving something hot and liquidy when I came in. Tea for sure, but soup, too, if they had any. The soup of the day on the wall menu was a Punjabi lentil soup, which sounded absolutely scrumptious.
So I ordered it along with my dragonwell (yay for more than one green tea option — there were four) as «the soup of the day» (that is, I didn’t actually order it by name), and the young woman came around the counter and took a carton out of the prepared foods fridge. Have to say I wasn’t expecting that.
It also turned out to be not Punjabi lentil soup, but chili. Well, ok then. I didn’t protest because I was just craving something that would warm my belly, and chili sounded dandy, too, but it was certainly odd. She heated it up in the microwave and brought it to me with my tea. It was really very good, so it’s hard to complain about any part of the oddness, but it was still unexpected.
It’s not immediately evident when you walk in that there is seating inside the shop itself. My first thought was that all the tables were outside — and there are definitely more of them out there — but I wisely wandered through without giving up on the idea of hunkering down. I didn’t need to plug in today, but there is a power strip near the far wall if you need it.
Although there were several other people there doing their own thing, I was struck by how utterly quiet the place was. There was no music on, and it felt kind of like a library. The tables are nice and big; one customer was grading papers (for which I did not envy her at all), and she had plenty of space to spread out all her materials. The room smelled wonderful of all sorts of herby stuff. The wifi was zippy even with four laptops open throughout the café.
I’m definitely a fan. If you need a coffeehouse where you can simply work in quiet without distractions of the homo sapiens variety, this is a great option. It’s very intimate, but in a cozy way, not in a shoebox way. It’s friendly, and everything smells good but not overwhelming.

It took me quite a while to finally check out Global Gallery. I’d visited their store in the Short North, and of course their sister-​store Celebrate Local, but always driven past this store in Clintonville. Luckily a coffee meeting finally brought me through the doors.
The coffee shop side is pretty small and a little cluttered, but it’s packed with lots of great local goods. There is coffee, tea, cookies and other foodie snacks on the menu so if you’re there for a snack or some caffeine, they have you covered.
I think what I like most about this place is it’s character (besides the fair trade aspect, of course.) All coffees, teas, and goods here are Fair Trade, meaning that all producers of the goods were paid fair wages. There’s so much «good» packed in the store, you’ll have a hard time not walking out with anything. It’s kinda cluttered and although things seemed to be arranged by type/​theme, your eye has plenty of opportunities to wander.
Back to the character… the covered outside patio offers work tables, tattered leather chairs and other seating arrangements that are straight outta the thrift store. I quite liked sitting on a leather chair working while enjoying the outside breeze. It’s quiet, not busy at all, and the free wifi and homemade granola really sealed the deal for me. I can see myself coming here to work and host meetings a lot more!
