Protection 1 Security Solutions

The home we just moved into already had a Protection 1 system installed. We called them and the sales rep was a sales rep. Pushy but not overly, and made protection 1 sound like the best company for alarm systems. We took the bait and set a time to have our system installed. I received emails confirming my time, and even an email saying my installation technician was in transit. However, he never showed up. I wasted 4 hours of my time waiting for someone who was never coming. Upon calling the company again they told me the tech had come to the house and that I wasn’t home. When I told them I had been home all day specifically waiting for him they changed the story to he had called and since no one answered he never came. When I told them I had my phone next to me the whole day and I had never received a call they told me that they had the old number on file for the previous homeowner. The story kept changing and what it boiled down to was their lack of desire to please a potential customer. You have to sign a 36 month contract and pay a hefty fine if you cancel early. I will be looking for a different alarm company and recommend you do too.

It’s hard to find a good security company out there, but 12 years ago I found a great one.
It was a seamless process to get started (interview, scheduling, install, usage) and over the years, Protection 1 has just gotten easier with online account management, better on site equipment and more ways to communicate. It is great that they not only work with you to find very accommodating times for service, but their follow through is wonderful! In fact? I even receive emails with a photo of the technician who is scheduled for my call. And speaking of? The gem of Protection 1 in my opinion? IS the onsite customer service (though i have to say the folks who answer the line whenever I call are super helpful!)
I have had the same technician since I have signed up years ago… and that is something that I love! Not only do I find peace of mind in knowing who my service folks are but they also get to know me. This creates something that we do not see much of today: a personalized experience for service. And this is key when you are working with a national company! Kudos P1!
What is also key? Is that my service technician HAS BEEN WITH THE COMPANY for as long as I have known them! Job satisfaction? Pride in work? This all shines through whenever I open the door and am greeted by my Protection 1 rep and he has a smile on his face and a Good Morning to happily deliver!
(And that he can fix any problems I have with my system super fast, super efficient and is super knowledgeable — score!)
