We just started using Rover for our dogs when traveling. The experience has been wonderful. Easy to communicate and arrange plus we get updates throughout our dogs stay

I was struggling to find the perfect method/​person to take care of my dog Benny and hiring Carly in central Columbus as a dog sitter was the best decision! I felt extremely comfortable and knew Benny was in good hands. From the moment I met Carly I could tell she had much experience with a variety of dog personalities. Her pictures and texts made me feel at ease and I will certainly be using her in the future — she is the best!

Rover is fantastic! I found a great girl that comes to my house to stay for the entirety of my time away from home. The dogs immediately loved her when they met her and I am happy to know that while I’m away my pups are in good hands. I recommend this service to all of my friends.

Rover is an excellent dog boarding service with many people to chose from with varying rates.
The person that watched my dogs did an excellent job and I had no worries about my dogs in her care.
I think the boarding rates are very competitive and you get more of a personal experience than just taking them to a kennel.

The dog sitters were nice (Aubrey W. in Grove City). There was a fenced in backyard and the owners have had other successful reviews on Rover. However, my experience was not so pleasant:
On day 3 of my 4-​day boarding, I received a message saying my dog got loose and ran away. My dog about a little over 1yr old and has never run off. I was 300+ miles away and there was nothing I could really do, but worry. Long story short, they were never able to find my dog — he ended up being lost for 1.5 days (my partner and I were able to find my dog in a forest near the sitter’s home)
The sitter was very apologetic (and jokingly mentioned that she was worried she would be sued). We were just happy to have our dog back.
We will not be returning to this sitter. Please do your homework and use Rover at your own risk.

I love using
and have used it almost a dozen times since I found out about it. I’ve only had one not-​so-​great experience (and it’s not Rover.com’s fault itself). I would recommend a feature where you can see if someone is dogsitting other dogs for the same date — my dog got confused when another dog was potty-​training inside the sitter’s apartment and she made me pick up my dog 5 hours earlier than expected.
Overall, I have had a very positive experience with
and will continue to use it in the future. :) It’s a much better option than a kennel or doggy daycare in my opinion.

I love using Rover services for my dog Martin. He did not do well in a large daycare/​boarding environment. He definitely prefers the low key, smaller pack, and more one-​on-​one attention from his Rover sitters!

Rover is basically the AirBnB for dog boarding. With our pup being a rescue dog I didn’t feel comfortable taking her to one of the large kennel-​type dog boarding places. She’s already spent too much of her life in a cage with dogs going nuts around her. With Rover we were able to find a sitter near our house that had a big fenced in back yard with a few dog friends for our dog to spend the day with. Process couldn’t have been easier.

I am obsessed with my dog. He is my everything, and I take my responsibilities toward him very seriously. Dog sitting is a big source of anxiety for me– I want him to be comfortable and safe and happy as much as possible when my husband and I are away. He’s an old guy, and he can’t handle much stress anymore! I’m a very high-​maintenance dog owner, I know this.
For a long time, we had a wonderful dog sitter who would come stay at our house with him when we traveled. Then she had to go to grad school and change the world, so she couldn’t take care of our dog anymore :-)
I’ve used other services before and just wasn’t impressed, and when you worry about the care your dog is receiving it makes it impossible to enjoy a vacation or time away.
I saw an ad for Rover so I decided to go for it. I was impressed from the very beginning. The site is organized very well, I love being able to read reviews of sitters, I loved the disclosure of the sitters home environment (whether they had other dogs, kids, cats, their «on the furniture» policies) because it made finding a match for my sweet senior dog easy as pie.
You always go on a meet and greet before you actually drop your dog off, and I have never felt rushed or pressured during these meetings. I am consistently impressed at how thorough and professional and serious these sitters are– I always feel like they will be prepared for anything that can happen while they are taking care of my dog.
The employees seem very happy to be working there, and I enjoy the backup that comes with using a big pool of sitters. For example, if I book a sitter and during the sit he or she has an emergency or becomes unavailable, Rover will handle finding a comparable placement. There is also access to a vet for questions or concerns. My dog takes daily medications for his arthritis and this was never a problem for any of the sitters to administer.
I cannot explain the relief and peace I feel now that I have consistent access to quality care for my best buddy.

We moved to Columbus and didn’t have any one to watch our baby (a 55 lb German Shorthaired Pointer) I was researching dog boarding for Peyton and came across
. I loved that the site had reviews from previous people who have used them. We were able to find Carolyn H. who lives near us and met with her before our weekend trip. Peyton has the time of his life when we go on vacation! I know he is well taken care of and given the love and attention he would get at home. He is not crated for hours at a time like at a boarding house, I receive videos and emails daily on the fun and excitement that he is having. The sign up was easy, the prices are very fair, and I like that we were able to meet the family talking care of our baby before committing to them. I would recommend
to all my friends looking to have a real personal dog boarding experience for their special pooch!

! There’s a great selection of qualified pet sitters, it is easy to use/​pay and our pup was happy happy when we got home. We had a sitter stay in our home, which worked out really well.

I love the fact that
connects me to individual pet sitters, rather than large boarding kennels. My dogs were able to stay in a home with a loving family while we were away, and really enjoyed themselves. Stephanie in Lockborne, OH was amazing, and the dogs had a great time.

My dad actually recommended
to me after I asked him to watch our 2 dogs while we went away for the weekend and he said no. He saw a commercial and told me to check it out. I love that you can sign in with facebook. It was easy to create a profile and I liked that you create a profile for each of your dogs too. It makes a great reference for any Rover sitter when they watch your dogs.
The site was easy to navigate and find sitters in my neighborhood. There’s were several that fit my criteria. I needed someone who was willing to come to my home 3 – 4 times a day to care for the dogs and someone who’d be willing to give one of my dogs medicine. I started communication with one sitter that ended up falling through and then started with the sitter I hired, MaryBeth. She was great and ended up doing a great job. Not to say I wasn’t nervous about the whole thing. I was used to having family watch our babies so, hiring a stranger through a website was anxiety inducing. Mary Beth was great at communicating quickly which calmed my nerves and
helps with the background checks, insurance, emergency number, message system, and service reviews.
While each sitter sets their own price, sitting options (in their home or at your home), and cancellation policy option, most are around the same price and I much preferred the service I got over using a dog boarding or doggie daycare facility. I loved being able to have the dogs cared for at home for such a reasonable cost. I would also try
for dog boarding/​sitting if needed last minute. Many of sitters were willing to watch dogs with little notice, which can be a lifesaver if something came up in a pinch where kennels were already books. I would use Mary Beth again and recommend
to anyone looking for a dog boarding alternative.

It is difficult to find a wonderful person to take care of your pet so you can have a safe and worry free vacation. It is that much more difficult to find that person when your pet is an «aggressive breed» such as we have in our doberman, Cozmo. Even though we know Cozmo as a lover and not a fighter, he can still be intimidating to those not accustomed to his breed. We found the dog sitter with
and she did an excellent job in taking care of our guy and we had a worry free vacation and he had other buddies to play and romp with while at her home. It was great for everyone! Thanks Rover!

Great site!!! A lot cheaper than kennels!
I would recommend to anyone, especially those with dogs that have little quirks. Mine hates cages, so my sitter never put her in one at all! Kinda like a doggy resort for mine!

is great place to find dog sitters in your hometown, or when traveling to another city. Quick and easy to use, it was a worry free experience. I will never have to board my dogs at a kennel again.

So easy to search, find and meet a dig sitter that you and your dogs click with and so easy to book and pay online! Then you just drop off and you’re on your way!
I have used Dawn S twice now and i got lots of pictures and updates from her while I was away and my dogs came back all worn out and with new friends!
So glad I found rover and I no longer have to beg friends and family to watch my 3 pups while I am away!
