TC Thrift

Pretty decent selection of goods for the thrifter here. Clothes, books, some furniture, kitchen items, home décor, collectibles, spiritual music, and retro VHS films.
My wife and I scored several items that we plan on cleaning up and flipping, as well as some goods for ourselves. The dishes are priced quite low, which is great for the buyer, but could be more profitable to the owner. The books are priced fairly, but I just didn’t see anything that trips my trigger (history, science, human rights, progressive politics).
We didn’t hit the clothes rack this visit, but I saw some visible $ 2.99 tags on this and that, so it would be comparable to Goodwill’s clothing prices, if these are the same prices throughout the racks.
The store is deep in length, well-​lit, and is welcoming and clean. But it was dead inside, despite the large parking lot in front. One other person walked in while we there, seemingly a friend of the kind manager.
Either this place needs to market itself better, or deal with the following.
Not a bad start-​up for a thrift store, and seems to support a good cause on the surface: helping teen and women girls get off drugs. However, the angle seems to be concealed behind religion and Christian proselytizing.
There are lots of Jesus stuff displayed, free literature not about the clutches of drug addiction, but rather preaching and evangelizing material.
There is also loud old-​time religious music playing, which is almost distracting for a non-​religious person like myself. I can’t imagine what this kind of music can do emotionally to the religiously and ritually abused.
If the churchy stuff was toned down a bit, it can be a more unifying place to shop.
