Love living here! People are super nice in the office. It must be the best community in Columbus.

I have a theory on this place. I’ve heard it’s shady, and I definitely discovered that myself. I put in an application (50 dollars) along with the 200 dollar ‘deposit’ fee back in June 2015. The deposit fee is to hold your place. As long as your credit, employment history checks out, you get the place. If it doesn’t (such as you have bad credit), they’ll deny you but you get your 200 dollars back (not the app fee, though). If you decide to simply back out of wanting to potentially move in there, you don’t get your money back. Well, I put in an application back in June. In the last rental companies have taken approximately 5 minutes-​30 minutes to determine if I’m approved or not. The Quarry told me it would take 6 WEEKS to determine if my application was accepted. So I waited. Called back after 6 weeks. They told me it’d be another week. Called a week later. They told me it’d be another two weeks. Called back two weeks later. They told me I’d get an answer the following day. In fact, she said SHE would call ME. 5 pm rolls around and I still hadn’t hear from the representative, so I called her. She abruptly told me I wasn’t approved, because I ‘haven’t been at my current job long enough.’ I have been an RN for years, and have been at my current hospital for over a year. I have good credit. Great references. They took 9 weeks to ‘run my application’, only to say I was not approved due to my length of employment. Here’s my theory (since I’m well aware the Connor Group, who owns The Quarry, are money hungry morons): There was never a unit available to be rented (when I put in my application originally they amazingly had ‘1 unit left!’), but they went ahead and took my money anyway, and decided to pretend the application process was a long one (again, every place I’ve ever rented took no longer than a half hour to determine if I was approved). They kept adding on time (‘one more week’ ‘two more weeks’) until they’ll ‘know if I’m approved.’ I think they were banking on the fact that I would get sick of waiting, and would back out of the deal on my own, forfeiting my 200 dollar refund. Because if they did not approve me on THEIR end, they’d have to refund my money. But they probably figured if they dicked me around long enough, I would get sick of waiting plus I’d be running out of time on finding a new place to live, so I’d back out of the deal and thus they would make 200 dollars off of me. When they realized I wasn’t giving up, they kept putting me off, only to never call me when they said they would, and when I called THEM for the 10^th time, angry and annoyed, they finally realized I wasn’t going to quit hassling them, so they made up an excuse on the spot (since they couldn’t really use my credit as an excuse to deny me, as I have good credit), stating I wasn’t at my current job long enough. All in all I (stupidly) wasted 9 weeks that I could’ve spent looking for a legitimate place (luckily I found one, and it only took them 10 minutes to run my application and approve me). I’m convinced The Quarry knew what BS they were pulling from the start, as I’ve heard over and over that they’re basically con artists who are out to rip you off and suck you dry, but I was persistent and thus their scam didn’t work on me. Finally got my refund two days ago, and it took everything in me not to flip them the bird. Do yourself a favor: when putting in an application, ask them first how long it’ll take to process it. If they give you a ridiculous window of time (like they did in my case), tread lightly. Ask a lot of questions. Put the pressure on them. Don’t let them dick you around, because they will. That place is a joke.

Before my husband and I got married last year and found ourselves in need of a place to live. We didn’t really have time spend looking for places and we decided to live at The Quarry. It appeared to be nice and to have amenities that may make the expensive rent worth it.
Little did I know, this would be one of the worst decisions of our lives. First of all, utilities are not included in the cost of rent. Utilities are managed by this company called «First Billing» and they charge $ 81 per month for things like «community lighting» and sewer/​water. Our trash is a large dumpster… This does not include your electricity, gas, or cable/​Internet. They also randomly notified us that they would begin charging «community gas» despite the fact that we had to pay our own gas bill.
Rent seemed more reasonable when we considered that we would have gym access on-​site. Let me just say the gym is not worth it in my opinion. The machines and tanning beds are constantly broken. I put in a maintenance request to have the sanitation wipes replaced, but it took MONTHS… months! They had no disinfectant available during that time.
Our apartment appears nice, but has an infestation of spiders and mosquitoes. It rendered our patio overlooking the water utterly useless. We put in requests many times, but nothing happened. Finally, we went to the office and they said we could be placed on a list for weekly bug spraying.
There is no accountability in the office. The girls seem nice, but no manager has been readily available during my ordeal this past month. It seems they are in the middle of a management transition and it appears no one knows what is going on. I will say Amber was usually knowledgable and helpful. We are obviously unhappy and want to be done with The Quarry. For the past month we have been trying to do a lease take over, but they do not seem to be competent enough to even know how the process works. We have lost most people interested because of this. Either way, it is a complete rip-​off and leaves your without options. They will charge the person taking over the lease a $ 400 «admin fee» to «flip the apartment» for 1.5 month despite the fact that we already paid it.
Time and time again I have tried to give The Quarry a chance. I want to be fair. I’m a nurse at OSU and the drive was nice. It’s in a secluded area, but my husband’s car was broken into multiple times. The pool was nice during the summer and I loved my fireplace during the winter (when it was functioning). It’s just that the bad outweighs the good and I want to warn others. The Quarry appears to be nice, but it is a façade. It is a poorly managed money-​pit.

I love living at the Quarry! I just resigned my lease for the second year. The staff is so helpful and it’s a beautiful community with great amenities! Could not recommend this enough!

Very nice apartments, love the community and the location is perfect. Close to Grandview, Hilliard, UA, and campus.
Had some issues with the apt but maintenance has fixed them promptly. Even had to use the emergency hotline and the problem was fixed right away.
I think it’s funny how some people on here have complained that the gym smells like sweat… that is a good thing right? Means people are working hard in there instead of taking pictures of weights! The gyms here are nice and have everything you would need to get a good workout in.
We did have a snafu when we moved in where the carpet hadn’t been replaced but they fixed it that day and we were still able to move in that same day.
Overall a good apartment complex with nice places!

Lived here for 16 months and glad to be gone. Called Luxury living, but its overpriced garbage with most amenities they offer usually broken or dirty.
The gated entrance was always broken and open, allowing no security for the price of a private gated community. The 2 pools are great, if you want to swim in filth, beer, and urine. The Hot Tub was condemned by the Ohio Board of Health for being a stagnant cesspool mosquito breading ground.
The new gym is nice, but disgustingly dirty with stinking of sweat. When i moved out, they tried to get me to pay for damages that existed before I moved in. I have now been gone for a few months and I am still waiting for my security deposit.
Overall, great complex/​quarry views are very nice, but management and amenities leave a lot to be desired for such an expensive place to live.

I did not have a good experience at all at the Quarry and do not know many people who did. The staff in the leasing office are unfriendly, unprofessional, unorganized, and lack knowledge on what is going on at all. When I first moved in to the three bedroom town home, only one of my roommates was on the lease. I went into the leasing office twice to sign my lease and was told both times that the lease could not be found. Then got rude voicemails asking me why I had not come in to sign the lease yet. There are additional fees tacked onto the water bill such as «pest control» and «common electric». I wouldn’t have had a problem paying these fees if they were legitimate. I did not see anyone spraying for pests a single time that I lived there. Spider webs and large insects are everywhere. As far as common electric goes, the lights outside are left on 24 hours a day. So I was paying for all of the street lights to be on in the middle of broad daylight. With all of the additional fees, the water bill averaged about $ 120 a month. At my previous apartment the water bill was $ 40 max. In the summer the pool was very poorly maintained. The water was green and disgusting. Every time I went to the pool there were beer cans laying all over the place and chairs were every where. When I moved out last month we were charged $ 800 for a small hole in the carpet. I liked the apartment I lived in but it was not at all worth it to live there.

I lived at the Quarry for three years in two different apartments. Overall, it was a good experience. My first apartment was larger and more expensive, but it had a really nice view over the water. I really loved the layout of the apartment, but it was a bit pricey.
After the first year I moved in with a different roommate to the back corner of the property. It was almost like the outcast area. My window overlooked the creepy woods. It was also difficult to get decent cell phone reception. Hey, at least it was cheaper.
My favorite part of living at The Quarry is probably that both of the two bedrooms I lived in had two bathrooms, so I didn’t have to fight with my roommate to get ready in the morning. My least favorite would be that the walls were super thin. I could hear my neighbor’s dog barking at all hours. Very annoying.
The Quarry has two clubhouses with pools, which was great in the summer. The pool by the main clubhouse was like spring break on the weekends, while the other pool was much quieter. They also have a workout room, which you can access ²⁴⁄₇. However, it’s fairly small and was often overcrowded or had broken machines. You do get access to the Barn’s facilities as well, but that’s about 15 minutes away.
For the most part people who live at the Quarry are young professionals right out of college. It’s generally a safe area and I was comfortable running or walking around the property at night. It’s a great place for a person in their twenties to live.

After my frustrating «associate losing my paperwork» incident, I am happy to say that I love my new place. When I moved in, there were a few things I pointed out to the move in associate & they had someone come right in the next day & fix them for me.
If I need anything, I just walk down to the leasing office & they’re usually pretty helpful. They tend to be busy though (I think typically showing new rental candidates around) so it may be hard to catch somebody, but I can’t blame them for that.
Another nice thing is that if you have a delivery from FedEx or UPS & no one is home at your place, they drop it off at the leasing office and you can pick it up at your convenience.
My opinion has dramatically changed since I’ve moved in — I’m very happy here.

My g/​f and I lived here for about 1.5 years. We lived in 2 different apartments. We went from a 2 bedroom with 3 people to 1 bedroom with 2 people. After moving into our 1 bedroom the management tried to charge us $ 1200 for new carpet in the old place; for the sole reason of «dog smell» and dog pee stains. We did not own dogs whatsoever. They said they had pictures and we said lets see them. The lady went into the back to get the pictures came back with nothing; she then apologized that they had the wrong apartment.
Our friend had lived there for about 3 years and wanted to stay a 4^th when she asked the management for a discount for being so loyal they said very rudely, no, we can find someone else to live there tomorrow or even this afternoon that will pay the full price.
In our first few months of living there my car was broken into, $ 2000 worth of damage. When I told the management office about it, they shrugged their shoulders and said sorry. I asked for them to replace a light in the street lamp right over my car and they said they would. 2 years later… still not fixed.
The review about the spiders and mosquitoes is totally true!!! You almost feel as if you are in the deep woods bc there are so many bugs.
The Pros. 1. The location (OSU, Downtown) 2. The name 3. The views (we lived on the 3^rd floor facing the lake)
The Cons 1. Management (not friendly or helpful) 2. Price! ($ 800 for a one bedroom!!!) 3. Bugs!!! 4. White barber carpet (very hard to keep clean) 4. Living on the 3^rd floor. 5. Very thin walls (we could hear everything)
Side note about the price, they were going to up our rent 4% if we decided to renew our lease. You think it would go down.
