The Salt Mines is more than a coworking community. We are a collective of freelancers, entrepreneurs, startups, and independents. We could work anywhere — coffee shops, the library, our living rooms — but we choose to work together where we can challenge each other to do the best work possible. We all work better when we work together.

History

Established in 2012.

The Salt Mines opened in a small storefront on Arcadia Avenue in the Fall of 2012 to give independent professionals a space and community to work together. Less than a year later, The Salt Mines moved to a larger space on Indianola where we operate today.

Andy S.

Business Owner

Andy Soell is the co-​founder of The Salt Mines, as well as a Full-​Time Member. Andy works remotely for a nonprofit law firm in Washington, D.C. and knows all to well the challenges facing today’s remote workers.
