The Spacebar

Only been here twice (one time as a member of a band playing), but the great beer selection and excellent sound system/​sound techs make it impressive. Cool place to see a show.

Would give a 0 if I could. We spent 4 hours at the bar last night. I was drinking water, since I was the DD, but when I went to order another round of drinks for all of us, I was told I couldn’t have any water. I’d been ordering everyone’s drinks and tipping all evening, but was told ‘we don’t have glasses for water’. I had just returned 3 glasses to the bar and said I’d wait for one. I was then told those glasses weren’t for water. Sure it’s water, they don’t make money off the sale, but I was still tipping. Lesson, Don’t anger the DD. This DD didn’t order the last round and moved the party out of the bar.

The Spacebar is great for several reasons. 1. The sound. When it comes to live music, they have one of the best sound systems and acoustics in the city. 2. The beer and spirits. Good selection, not the widest, but what they have is good. 3. The ambiance. It’s just fun! Open, which is great. And I love the bar! Very well done. I will definitely return.

Fantastic atmosphere and great for seeing live, local artists. The sounds is done very well considering the limited space, and they provide free earplugs! I felt a little out of place, as the only non-​hipster dude, but it was still a good time!

Spacebar is everything Kobo should have been. Wide, open, unobstructed viewing area for the stage. Excellent sound, as well. The bar is in the back room, where it should have always been. The décor is sparse and classy. The lighting sets the mood for a chill night. The beer selection is great. Best of all: the bathrooms are great! If you’d even been in the Kobo bathrooms, you know why this is such a big bonus. Bravo Spacebar!

Kobo used to be one of my favorite north campus bars. Now that it is updated and fixed, I am even more drawn in. The selection of drafts is quite impressive. Several of the drafts are usually IPAs but I LOVE IPAs. Punk night karaōke is a great time but I definitely enjoy seeing bands on the stage more. I miss kobo but the sound was always awful. Space Bar’s sound is amazing! Def check it out!

Wow this place cleaned up nice. I love the bar. Section of a tree rough cut about 2″ thick. Restrooms clean. Nice beer selection.
