Stream Cliff Farm

I found Stream Cliff several years ago when I was doing a wine trail in Southern Indiana, and I’ve made it a point to stop by from time to time to check in and see how things are going. This really isn’t a winery. or a garden, or a tearoom. it’s a farm with a little bit of everything.
My group of friends and I stopped in on a Saturday morning not too long ago. One of the people in our group is one of those people who can do just about anything craft-​related that she sets her mind to. I knew she would love this place, so I was excited to show it to her. We first went into the winery and did a tasting, picking up a couple of bottles that weren’t too sweet for us, and then went to explore the rest of the grounds. We couldn’t get into the tearoom because they had a class going on, but we walked through the gardens and greenhouse. Everything was in bloom and the air had a fragrance of rain, fresh flowers and cut grass.
Stream Cliff offers something for everyone. Check out their website for information on upcoming events and the wines in stock. If you’ve been during the summer, make sure you check it out in the fall — the winery has the fireplace going and it becomes a much different place!

Greenhouse was good experience.
The service in restaurant was below average and the waitress never showed up to our table. My husband reached out to another waitress and she seemed bewildered on what to do for us. We decided to leave at that point.

The staff that did our wine tasting was fabulous! Very friendly and funny. We do an annual wine trip every year and this is our first time coming here. Not disappointed, however the wine is a little pricey, but delicious, nonetheless. Beautiful scenery, flowers, covered patio. It’s a beautiful day with great friends, who could ask for more!

I’m still slightly wincing at giving 3 stars when the tea room deserved 2 at most, but I’m giving 3 because of the atmosphere. A dear friend and I wished to escape the hubbub of our teeming metropolis and sought respite in the southeastern back country of Indiana. Though the scenery was quintessential Indiana – an unassuming historic property cushioned by bright blue skies & white puffy clouds, contrasted against tall waving stalks of corn – the hospitality at the tea room was not.
The woman who finally deigned to take our order after 20 full minutes without so much as a hello or a cup of water, was clueless, rude and self-​absorbed. Granted, the place was packed, but it’s 2013 people, who isn’t aware of how much latitude you buy with a friendly ‘Hello, I’m slammed and will be with you soon as I can!’ Instead, we were ignored… until the gal who was supposed to be our waitress came over to ask if we minded if she left a tray (which she had just been using to deliver drinks to another table) on our table. She never did come back for it.
I won’t drone on with other details, just know that a Sunday afternoon may not be an ideal time for this place. And! despite the down (Old Indiana) home feel, a trip to the tea room will leave you feeling like you’ve had far better experiences at corner hot dog stands on a bustling NYC street corner.
The many plants and flowers, butterflies, hens, goats and all – against the setting of the rustic buildings and gardens are lovely, no question. But lordy mercy, bring all the patience you’ve got and borrow some more if you’re heading for the tea room.

Fantastic! Smooth wine from stainless vats, Is that RO water I taste?! Great job at wine production. Tasting is limited to 4 kinds but throw 50 cents in the jar for each one after that. Great gourmet chocolates. Cool tea room and little shops. Historic, functioning farm, lots to see. We will be back to try and we it all eventually. 12 miles off 65 at the Uniontown exit, easy side trip.

We love this place for the great home cooked lunches. They have now added candlelight dinners and a large BBQ concert on the farm.
The restaurant is quaint and the sandwiches are very good. The sides and salads are fresh made. We love the turkey panini and the pulled pork, however the highlights are the homemade desserts. My favorite is the cobbler which reminds me of the ones made by my Grandma.
The teas and lemonade are refreshing. The winery is very good, but pricey.
The only downside is the restaurant is closed in the winter, however limited sandwiches and soups are available in the winery. Take time to visit the farm and enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink.

The building housing the winery is the farm’s former blacksmith shop and is located at Indiana’s oldest herb farm, Stream Cliff Herb Farm & Tearoom.
All the wines we tasted were great. My favorite was Kentucky Stud. It is a semi-​sweet red.
The ladies behind the tasting counter were very knowledgeable and helpful and full of historical knowledge.
