Affordable Animal Hospital Compton

I went in to get a second opinion and x-​rays for my 5 year old pit, Pinky who tore her ACL. We saw Dr. Marie Grant and she is amazing! Very helpful, very knowledgeable and was very detailed when explaining any and everything. You can tell she loves all the little fur babies that can into the clinic because whenever she passed a dog in the waiting room, she always addressed them and gave them love! My experience with her was excellent. I do agree with another reviewer about the receptionist however. The first group (young girls) I encountered seemed to lack the people skills needed when working with the public BUT when I went back to go get my pups x-​rays, the ladies at the desk were friendly, personable, they asked how she was doing. they were warm and welcoming!!! We are working on getting my pup to lose about 7lb and then will proceed with surgery.

Staff was fun and playful the dr gave my dog a short exam checked his hips and face got my dog his updated shots and I was out ! Couldn’t of ran out of there quick enough in the waiting room it smelt like rotting death because a poor doggy had a tumor just oozing from his ear and I had to step out in the beginning most of my waiting time because my dog was freaking out on the smell this place needs a deep cleaning dusting and full whip down but they get the work done

before even reading the reviews i was already expecting a pretty ‘cheap’ service because of the name «AFFORDABLE.» plus it was in compton, but little did i know the price was out of the ballpark. It was my first time EVER caring for my fur kid and the fact that Ive never had to pay for surgery before, they weren’t reassuring me with anything. I was so lost and confused that after I paid the $ 450 for an abscess surgery, I had to do all the research at home. they gave me a piece of paper (directions on medication use) and that was it. The reviews about the front receptionist below me are not kidding, they lack customer service. I’ve been trying to find a different vet because the lack of care they have. I’ve been to VCA and their customer service is 100% great but sadly too expensive, so right now im on the move to hunt for a vet…
p. s. i’d only go back for the annual shots. the prices look good even though the outside doesn’t
oh and i also wanted to add that when i had to pay for overnight stay, the next day when i picked my cat up, he looked very skinny and tired. once he got home he was very hungry. $ 50 for overnight stay with no food? I could have stayed overnight with my cat for free… services are just. wow.

They were very pleasant and the doctor explained the procedure and meds. We will be back in a week for follow up. And then another week to take stitches off.

«BE CAREFUL» WITH THIS PLACE. I went to this place in July 26, 2014. The receptionist has zero costumer service, she made fun of my accent and she was very disrespectful. I did not know that my little one was in heat, yet they continued to perform the surgery without letting me know, putting my pet life in dangerous, all this without my authorization. The estimated was $ 100.00 but they charged me $ 200.00 without letting me know. Of course I have proof of payment. When I complained to the doctor why they did not call to telling me what had happened, she told me it was not their responsibility (Ridiculous and Absurd answer). The doctor and the general staff has not the slightest professional ethics to treat customers. I WILL NEVER COME BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. BAD EXPERIENCE!!!
And by the way this place is NOT AFFORDABLE.

i use to take my dog here until i had to come in twice they kept saying my dogs bumps was a allergic reaction they gave him shots and medication twice its been nearly a month and they still havent gone away they dont know what there doing they just charge you and add things your dog doesnt need customer service on the phone are rude and your on hold for 10 min wait time isnt bad but the doctors arent knowleadgeable

The prices they quote you are affordable. But then… I called the local humane society — they were going to charge around $ 50 for shots for my dog. I called Affordable Animal Hospital — they were just a bit more, but there was no wait like there is at the humane society. What the DIDN’T tell me was that I would have to pay for the follow-​up shots. When they were talking to me the told me «The shots are $???» — whatever the price was I forgot but it was just a bit more than the humane society. THEY NEVER TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY AGAIN AND AGAIN EACH TIME I TOOK MY DOG BACK FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE SHOTS PACKAGE. I’m very disappointed and do not recommend this place to anyone. :(
