I went there to try the menudo and it is as good as people say it is, the menudo was excellent. I would give them 5 stars but did not because the only take cash and do not accept credit or debit cards so that is why I only gave them 4 stars. I returned there today and since they do not list their hours I asked and the owner informed me they open at 8 on weekdays and 7 on weekends, I had gone there at 7AM twice and they were closed and is why I asked when they open. But once again the menudo was excellent as before on the old location.

My DH loves the menudo here; I prefer the menudo from Julian’s in Hawaiian Gardens because it has hominy. Still everyone in the neighborhood comes here with their pots on Saturday & Sunday am for menudo. What I *love* here is their crazy good Caldo de Camaron… OMG nom nom! Jumbo shrimp in some great spicy tomato based broth… delicious homemade tostadas with and all the fixings… perfect weekend brunch food. Yum. In a VERYVERY sketchy strip mall off of Santa Fe. Saw peeps gettin’ arrested at one of the TWO liquor stores here in this strip mall. CASHONLY.

My Family has been a customer of thiers for years now, exclusively for their MENUDO on Sat or Sunday morninings. There’s always a line outside, everyone generally brings their own Steel Pot and pays per Pint or Quart. Its the kind that doesnt have hominy so i recommend you stop by your local bakery and pick up a can of hominy & Bolillos to complete your meal! It would of been a 5Star but lately, with their increasing popularity, they seem to have downsized portions(Or raised prices) & the quality is slowly starting to go down. Once outta the last 3 times i’ve had a bowl it was rather bland and lacking flavor. Its still pretty good, try it!
