A Day To Remember

I was also thoroughly disappointed with this bridal appointment. The front of the shop does not welcome you in, its dingy feeling. There are a fair amount of dresses to try on, but the sample dresses are also dingy and dirty. Like yellow in color and I refused to try a couple on because they looked dirty! Ew!
Like others have said, the viewing area is one large room with just a couple of couches, and I found it SUPER WEIRD that you have to take your shoes off before entering. Just odd… who wants to walk about in their socks, god forbid it was summertime and you walk around bare foot! Just not sanitary, and if your trying to keep the place clean, use a vacuum.
The consultant was nice enough, but really didn’t have the knowledge about the dresses. She didn’t know where to guide me.
Just not a place I would suggest. I have been to many bridal boutiques and NONE of them made me take my SHOES OFF before entering viewing room. The «no picture» policy is WACK! I find that silly. Brides like to compare dresses to help them decide which one, and if I can’t take a picture to remember later then I am definitely less apt to return, whether or not you claim to have unique bridal dresses that can’t be found online or not, just makes me hesitant to return or purchase from you.
David’s bridal would be better!

If I could give this store zero stars, I would. I went to the store to get my measurements done by a professional to send to my friend who is placing the bridesmaid dress order in Ohio. The woman with the red hair (I do not remember her name or her position within the store) was very rude. She had no bed side manner. I have a figure and am busty. With that said, she was rude about the sizing of my dress and stated that I needed to think about losing weight if I wanted to get into a certain size. When in fact, I do not care what size the dress is, I just want it to fit! If anyone is body conscious, do not go here. I am glad I did not give them any money.

I was thoroughly disappointed in my visit to this salon, especially after struggling to find a street parking spot down the street.
First of all, as the other reviewer said, there is one viewing area for everyone’s guests to sit in, and they all have to take their shoes off first. I only brought my mom and future mother-​in-​law, and good thing it was only them, because there were no other seats left since there were another bride and a girl shopping for prom there. I understand that it’s a boutique in a downtown area so space is limited, but I just felt so cramped and distracted.
A big deal breaker for me was that I was thrown into my dressing room with my dresses and nobody helped me get in and out of them. If you have ever tried wedding gowns on, then you know the majority of them are huge and bulky and it’s very difficult to manage all of that fabric on your own. The consultant stayed outside the room and told me to call her in when I was ready to be zipped up and clipped in. I am very small, and with most dresses being bigger than a size 10, I need good clips to make the dress look the way it’s supposed to. The consultant could barely find any clips, and the ones she did find were tiny – she basically just had to hold the dress in the back, which kind of ruins it when you’re really trying to envision what you’ll look like on your wedding day.
Finally, I found a dress I loved, and it was priced around $ 1700. I was told that this dress was an «exclusive» and was made by a private designer for this salon only (House of Jackson Parker), so I wouldn’t be able to get it anywhere else. Okay, fine. Pictures weren’t allowed, but the other bride was snapping away from every angle, so after much grumbling and attitude, my consultant let my mom take 2 pictures of the dress.
Fast forward to the next salon I went to in Bedford, and what do I find? THE EXACT SAME DRESS. I kid you not, the same dress, only $ 200 cheaper, and the Bedford salon includes some other perks when you buy your dress, so really I would have saved about $ 400. The consultant at the Bedford salon informed me that some places put their own labels on dresses and claim that they are «exclusives» so that brides will be forced to buy from them. She was right – the dress in Concord had the same font on its label as the one in Bedford, but instead of saying, «Private Label» which is the real designer of the dress, it said, «House of Jackson Parker.» I was beyond furious that they had tried to fool me (to be fair I don’t know if the consultant actually knew this or was just spouting what she had been told by whoever was in charge of buying). Maybe that’s why they don’t allow pictures?
They have a large selection here, but save your time, I’m sure you can find their brands elsewhere without the headache and skepticism you’ll be feeling wondering if they’re trying to pull a fast one on you.

Here’s the short review: this is fine for brides who are on a budget, but want better service than David’s Bridal. This is NOT for someone looking for a one-​of-​a-​kind, pampering experience.
Here’s the scoop:
* It was a good 5 minutes before I was even acknowledged (and I had an appointment!)
* My «entourage» was basically ignored. I was told in advance that I could only bring 2 – 3 people, so I chose my mom, maid of honor, and another bridesmaid.
* There is ONE «viewing room» where family/​friends wait for you to come out of the dressing room to show the dress (and EVERYONE has to take off their shoes to go in the room… even if you’re just crossing through the room to use the restroom)
* I felt like the bridal consultant only half-​listened to me when I described what I wanted. She seemed exhausted and stressed.
* No one asked what my budget was
* Undergarments (strapless bra, corset, slip, etc) were NOT provided. I was trying on dresses in my «street» bra.
* I was not offered any help getting into the dresses, which as you will find out is a HUGE challenge. Someone should really help you with all those layers!
If you want to run amok and try on dresses by yourself, this is for you. Pick dresses off the rack and try them on, show them to your entourage, then leave. If you prefer a superior customer experience, I recommend Madeline’s Daughter in Portsmouth. Do yourself a favor and be treated like a REAL bride… and a REAL paying customer!
