We brought out 4 years old lovely cat to this place for the 3^rd time and tonight during his check up and cleaning his ear we faced him coming back to us with bandage on his right hands with broken nails and deep painful damaged.
My wife and i got so disappointed with their careless services.
Even though their personal got noticed by their veterinary physician but it is not helping us with his pain and our miss trust.
We believe everyone who does clinical services should always be careful with pets and at least notify the owner with any services.
So disappointed and really do not like their unprofessional behavior.

Very friendly staff. You can tell they love animals, very nice vet and super clean facility. We just brought our dog in for a foxtail removal, and I was pleasantly surprised by the price. Nothing ridiculous, no hidden fees, very straight-​forward. Bring both my furbabies here =)

I LOVED this vet. They had been taking care of my dogs for 3 years.
However, this last time I went in I asked about the rattlesnake vaccine. They lady told me it was $ 16 per dog so I got 2. When I got home and looked at the bill it was $ 37 per vaccine per dog… When I called to complain they told me the girl who quoted me was new. This was AFTER it was administered I found out the cost was more than twice what I had agreed to. then they let me know I had to get a second vaccine to make the first effective, instead of letting me know before I got it administered. AFTER I got the second vaccine I looked at the invoice and they had raised the cost $ 8 per vaccine in the 3 weeks that had passed and didn’t let me know!
This is the only instance where Alpine deliberately lied to me about the cost, however I paid 5x the cost I was expecting when all was said and done. Instead of reimbursing me they just said sorry and that the girl who lied to my face was new. I am so disappointed in Alpine. They’re not only losing my business over this but my friends and family as well. I hate to change vets but I feel taken advantage of.
They even ignored my dispute with the BBB.

Read on for the bad:
My cat was last seen here in 2014 for an emergency visit because our normal vet was closed. The vet prescribed prescription food for my cat who was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and ever since that visit we always purchased that prescription food from Alpine Vet. Fast forward to May 2016: I stopped in to purchase my cat’s food on a Tuesday and was told that they no longer sell prescription food. However, the woman at the reception desk said the vet would write me a prescription to purchase it at PetSmart. Unfortunately, the vet was busy with another patient, so he could not write the prescription that day. I was told they would call me when the prescription was ready. Friday rolls around, and I have still not heard from the vet and my cat is out of his prescription food so I call. Again, they need to speak with vet, so they ask for my name and number and tell me the vet will call back. Friday evening rolls around, and I still have not heard back so I call them again. I am told they tried to call me but my phone number (which I have had since I was 16 and have never had disconnected) was unreachable. I was told they were trying to contact me to tell me that they can no longer give my cat his prescription food since they have not seen him in over a year. I can understand their reasoning but to be fair they have not seen my cat since 2014 and have filled it with no problem to date! Also, I have been trying to get it filled since Tuesday! They are letting me know the Friday night of a holiday weekend when my cat is completely out of food and my regular vet is closed that they cannot fill his food prescription! What am I supposed to do for food for my cat?! Way to care about the well-​being of the animals you treat!

This place has gone downhill. Poor service, not personal. Seems that in their haste to get bigger and their move to a new office, they’ve forgotten who they are. We won’t be back.

It is with a heavy heart I give only a 3 star rating to Alpine Veterinary. I have been taking my dogs there for many years and loved the extended hours, great vets, superb customer service which always included follow-​up phone calls. On top of that their prices were reasonable.
Alas this changed about the time of the move to the new location. And yes, I love the fact that there is more parking and I am sure that the vets and staff enjoy the fact the the place is so much larger, but somehow it is not the same operation. First of all, the level of service service has dropped, there are no more follow-​up calls. At first I thought it was just related to the move and things would settle down after a while. Unfortunately, this is not the case. On a couple of occasions I had to follow up on the test results as I did not receive a call (and the results were not good). There appears to be a phone recurring phone issues and frequently there are problems with the phone with calls being either dropped or not answered. Additionally there is substantial increase in prices across the board. As I have 4 older dogs, I tend to be a frequent visitor. At first when I mentioned the increase in cost, the front desk person told me that there has been no increase in prices, but on my last visit she just as a matter fact stated «yes, we had some increases». The increases include charging for venipucture (blood draw) when doing blood work, and expanding what is being tested for when drawing blood. The test which used to cost around $ 90 few months back now costs $ 170+. I also feel that I am being sold additional services every time I visit; this is very uncomfortable as even though I try to be a responsible dog owner I do not have an unlimited amount of money. And, there has been a substantial increase in the medication cost. The price of Rimadyl increased from $ 40.40 for 60 tablets in April to $ 65.50 in May. All this this may force me to once again consider other options, and if nothing else, at least purchase all medication, RX dog food, etc. online or through Costco or other retail pharmacies.
Again, I am sorry to have to post this review. I hope you guys get it together again.

LOVE! Everyone is so good to our pups :-) One of our dogs had surgery there recently and the staff were so kind to him and to us… especially since I was such a worrywart about the surgery. They were patient and understanding. Dr. Verk even called me to discuss my concerns before the surgery. Everything went smoothly and our pup recovered very quickly. So happy I found this office!

Dr. Virk and his staff are truly compassionate people. Our beloved dog Chance, was very
ill and we had to put him to sleep. Chance and our family were treated with dignity, kindness and with the utmost respect. As difficult as this was for us, Dr Virk and his staff did not
rush us so we could say goodbye with the time we needed.
If you have a beloved pet as we did and they are more than just pets, but «FAMILY» members,
you owe it to them and your family to make Alpine your veterinary hospital.

I have been Coming to see Dr Virk ever since they were a two room practice. It Is wonderful that now it is a state of the art can do anything in house practice. Dr Dimitrov is amazing with my senior dogs. They are never in a good mood, aged and cranky. He is always in a great mood and so patient and gentle my Hairy loves coming here

It was about 12 years ago I found Dr. Verk after I had discovered an eating disorder with my GSP. A friend referred me to Alpine Veterinary Hospital and Hunter saw Dr. Verk. After a very through examination Dr. Verk determined that Hunter had a food allegery and suggested that I switch his food. We did and immediately it cleared up and he was putting weight on again. I now see him for another beloved family member Angel our little Chihuahua. and he has the kindess touch with her. He is extremely caressmatic and a great Veterinarian. We now have moved out of the area but refuse to go any where else so we make the long drive seek his care and advise when it come to our pets!

Went to this place with my first dog 3,4 times 3 years ago when we first got her. My wife and I saw 3 different vets and they lost our file twice. Never saw the same vet or same receptionist. Luckily we had the paperwork with us. I don’t recommend this place at all, I didn’t trust them at all. They recently moved next to our vet at Clayton valley pet hospital. Go there if you can. The staff is much friendlier and consistent.

I found a dog in the street — I thought she was dead at first, turns out she was alive. I scooped her up and rushed her to Alpine. They immediately took her in and examined her. She was dehydrated, hungry and in shock (but apparently no broken bones). They kept her while I went to work. I came back later in the day to pick her up and they said they appreciated me taking the time to save this little girl and didn’t charge me anything. That was pretty awesome.
The little girl is doing great now, we may end up keeping her although there are a few folks at my work who’ve said they’d take her so it all worked out great for her.
Update 4÷5÷16: We ending up keeping her. She’s doing great and very appreciate of having a warm bed and good food. Sad the way people treat animals but this little lucky girl will have a great life.

So disappointed with the service here. Called to make an appointment, was immediately put on hold for 15 minutes. So I called back, only to be put on hold for another 10 minutes. To top it off the woman on the line was extremely rude I believe her name was Nicole. I understand places can be busy but seriously there’s no need for that attitude. No longer bringing my dog here.

Very happy with the service we’ve received so far. Two cats and one big, mean rabbit, are all happy patients of Alpine Vet. The prices are within our budget for regular checkups and for more serious treatments. And we like the doctors and staff, which is most important when choosing an office to care for our little friends.

We have been taking our animals here for some time now, and they are always great. Just this last wednesday, march 9^th, i had to make a quick decision to put my beloved cat of 16 years down. he had gone in for testing and turns out had kidney failure. while we were making plans on what to do, this night i could not stand watching my baby suffer further. we called alpine and they got us in in 20 minutes. they were sympathetic and very accommodating. they made the last few moments with my baby as comfortable as could be and showed me much kindness.
Thank you to the Alpine team for always providing exceptional service and showing compassion during my time of grief.
I still have 4 animals, all of which, will always be seen by the Alpine staff.

I have been very happy with my vet in Walnut Creek for several years, but on a recent checkup she mentioned my older cat (Phyllis) needed one tooth extracted. I was quoted $ 1,300. I had my husband take both our cats to another vet in Concord yesterday that was offering 20% off oral care. He paid for an initial exam visit, was told Phyllis needed at least 3 teeth pulled, and was quoted $ 1,000. While Casey was at that vet with the cats, I saw a recommendation on
praising the services of Alpine Veterinary in Concord. My husband called and scheduled an appointment for this morning.
Phyllis was seen during a complimentary initial exam and then taken into surgery where she had 4 teeth extracted. Our total came to under $ 500, including microchipping her (long overdue!) and her take-​home pain medicine and antibiotic. I met the caring staff when we picked her up this evening and really liked all 3 women that we encountered. Phyllis is doing great tonight, and they warned us about signs to look for that indicate infection, and the best ways to help her heal.
The difference in price between the 3 places is just incredible to me — for the same service! I will only trust my cats and rabbit with staff who I feel provide them caring treatment and love. (And one of the ladies tonight told me she loved my sweet kitty!) So on top of the loving staff, you can’t beat their prices. I will definitely be returning to this office for the cat’s regular care and cleanings, and since they treat some exotics, my rabbit will be coming here from now on too. Very happy with my initial experience.

The best thing this place has going for it is its price for me. It has a very small parking lot so parking can be tricky at times. The waiting room is gross, smells like urine and feces and they have a random cat that just walks around. Each time I have gone there have been several barking dogs, with my cat already stressed out from the barking a random cat pushing up against his carrier did not help. There can be a long wait both in the waiting room and in the exam room. I have had different doctors on visits and each time I felt rushed and as if they were not really examining my cat. The doctor said that he looked fine after barley glancing at him, but after asking for a more thorough exam they found that he was sick. If I had not requested a closer look his illness could have become much worse. So just beware that they don’t look that close.

We’ve brought our animals in at Alpine Vet for a few years now and this is by far the best hospital you can bring your babies to! We have two kitties, one 3 year old boy and a 5 month old girl. They’ve both been through a lot and Dr. Dimov is absolutely great with both of them. Due to the malpractice of another hospital (Well-​Pet Vet Clinic in Pittsburg, NEVER take your animals there!) our 5 month old kitten’s surgical site from being spayed reopened and they took care of her right away. She’s all better now and I’ve been nothing less than satisfied with Alpine Vet. I’ll never take my animals anywhere else again. They’re also open pretty late which makes it more convenient in cases of emergencies. Friendly staff. Clean hospital. Great doctors. Would definitely recommend to all friends and family.

Dr. Virk cared for and treated our Arrow (German shorthair pointer) after I urgently called after 5pm for emergency care this past week. The office told me to bring Arrow right in and they would wait to see her.
When we arrived the office staff (Amanda, Nicole and Melanie) were helpful, efficient and patient while I was a nervous wreck about Arrow’s health. Arrow is our family fur baby for sure!
Dr. Virk was kind, informative, patient and in no way pushy towards «extra tests or unnecessary treatments» to line his pockets with money. His focus was prompt care for Arrow. We discussed all care and cost openly with him. Dr. Virk was SO genuine, informative and realistic with regards to Arrow’s chances of recovery and quality of life. It was apparent he loves helping animals period. Dr. Virk was not focussed on making money but was focussed on helping Arrow become healthy.
Dr. Virk completed Arrow’s life saving surgery first thing the following morning after stabilizing her the night before and called me immediately after to inform me of her outcome and answer more of my questions.
As soon as she was out of recovery, the Dr. and staff made accommodations for me to see her. While in their care the office staff was patient and informative with my numerous calls to check on Arrow.
The office may appear to be «No frills» but do not let that mislead you, the care and attention your pet receives is absolutely 5 stars. Yes, the office staff gets busy and may need to place you on hold when you call but they are caring for the animals which I feel is the priority!
I completely recommend Alpine and Dr. Virk for any veterinary needs in the future. We will undoubtedly continue to bring Arrow and our kitties to Dr. Virk in the future for their routine care.

We saw Dr. Freeman this Sunday for a veterinary exam and health certificate for our dog to fly to Florida.
He was fast, friendly, and efficient. The front desk staff was kind and working as quickly as possible to get everyone taken care of … there were about a half dozen other pets and clients coming and going within a very short period.
Highly recommend this veterinary hospital for those seeking compassionate, affordable care for their fury friends.
