This place is great would highly recommend. Finding a place you can trust to touch your car is so hard to find and man does this place make you feel comfortable.

I was recommended American Brake Service from a Co-​worker after getting a shady check up on the car where I was told I needed new brakes on an almost new vehicle. I brought the car to ABS to have this re-​evaluated, Bobby took the time to inspect all the brakes, explain to me what to look for myself and ultimately deemed it wasn’t necessary at that time. His honesty and trustworthiness is what took me back here when it was inspection time and when my other car needed it’s brakes done and a bearing repair. The work was quick, diligent and flexible with my schedule and came in a little under what the original estimate for the work was.

I have been going to American Brake Service since I was 16 and purchased my first car. I have had several cars in between, but this shop has never been anything but honest and respectful to me. They have also saved me 1000’s of dollars in unnecessary repairs. I always call ABS before I call anyone else.

Best repair shop I have ever seen. Honest, fair and reasonable. Been going there since the old location. Never been pressured, up sold, no problems of any kind. My whole family uses this place and I recommend them above any place I have used in the last 40 years.
Years ago I took my car in for inspection. Only issue was license plate light. Wrote the check, he came back in and informed me it was just loose. For 5 bucks it would not have mattered. I left the check as a tip. Just a great, honest outfit.

I never trust auto mechanics or dealers, so I always go in with my guard up. I was calling around to get quotes for rear brakes on my wife’s car, and Meineke wouldn’t give me a quote, saying I need to bring the car down there for them to look at, and the dealer was trying to sell me stuff I didn’t need before I even got there. I called American Brake Service, and they were very up front and honest with me from the very start. When I brought my car in, he me into the garage to show me the parts I DIDN’T need to buy, vs the upsell that most other places do. He could have probably sold me new brake rotors, but he said they will do their best to machine them, vs making me buy new ones. He also showed me a possible issue with my parking brake, and said he’d do his best to fix it without having to put new parts in. I was very very pleased with the service I got, and I will be sure to bring all my vehicles there for service in the future. They also do stuff like inspections and oil changes.

I’ve used thia garage a couple of times when it was located in Concord Heights and have had an overall good experience. Just tried their new location on 59 Pleasant Street in Concord and I also came away very pleased. They really excel at the smaller auto service jobs: brakes, oil changes, inspections, belts etc. I had a oil change, belt check and state inspection on my SUV and they completed the work on a timely basis at a very economical rate. Probably the thing I like best is that I trust these guys — they are very courteous, answer any questions you have and just give you the straight scoop. Unlike other auto service places where their objective is to separate you from your money with frivolous services, American Brake is a bunch of standup guys and a family run business as well! Give these guys a shot…

I have never felt a sense of loyalty to an auto-​shop until about 5 years ago when I came here. Bobby is a friendly guy and most important… TRUSTWORTHY. They have recently moved to: 59 Pleasant St in Concord. I would highly recommend them for brake work and state inspections. I’m not sure what else they do, however if they cant do it there, they will recommend another trustworthy source.
