APF is a full-service wholesale custom framing facility. We work closely with Fine Art and Framing Galleries, Interior Designers, Professional Photographers, Art Consultants, Retailers, and others in need of custom framing at wholesale prices. We offer superior quality with flexible pricing to fit your individual needs. Although our showroom is open to walk-ins Monday through Thursday, it is always best to call first or set up an appointment so that you do not have to wait if we are working with other clients.
History
Established in 2006.
APF started as a small two person operation to help fill the need for wholesale framing in the East Bay. We have since grown to become one of the largest wholesale framing facilities in the Bay Area with a very knowledgeable and efficient staff.
Meet the Business Owner
Mike M.
Business Owner
From 1996 – 2000 Mike earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with college honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He sold works to his former high school, the local community college, and to private collections. It was during this time that he became introduced to the world of picture framing. To pay his way through college in 1997 he landed a job as a picture framer in a small shop north of Chicago. One year later he began working for a picture framing franchise where he began learning the basic skills of framing and went on to earn his certification through the Professional Picture Framing Association. Within the next three years Mike went on to work for three other frame shops in the Chicago-land area, ever increasing his diversity and skills. In 2001 he relocated to the Bay Area to work and later become general manager of a large wholesale framing facility. In 2006 the culmination of these experiences led to the opening of APF-The Art of Picture Framing.
