ATCO Towing & Recovery

Prompt service with friendly drivers both times I’ve used them. Once to change a flat tire– driver offered to follow me to the local gas station so I could put air in the spare. Seeing as my car is having lots of problems I will definitely be using them again soon!

had the option to leave no stars, I would! Recently my car ran out of fuel on Monument Blvd. in Concord and was blocking traffic. A driver pulled up from Atco Towing and Recovery and I asked if he had any fuel on board that he could sell me to get me 3 (three) blocks to the gas station. He said he did and proceeded to pull up in front of my car and get into position to tow my car. I asked what he was doing and he said «I am not here to bring you gas nor would I make any money doing so.» I told him that he was not going to be towing my car and if I was going to have it towed that I was an AAA member and they would do it. He then got very angry and drove off at a high rate of speed and left me standing there. I couldn’t believe it. 5 minutes later a truck from Arrowhead Tow in Antioch pulled up, gave me a little splash of gas that I needed and I was on my way. Thank you Arrowhead tow!
The driver with Atco Towing and Recovery did not care about my safety or the safety of my car that was blocking traffic. He was only there to make a commission by towing my car somewhere. He obviously was trying to pull the ol’ «bait and switch» tactic on me.
If you are looking to have something towed DO NOT call Atco Towing and Recovery.
I am a small business owner in the Concord area and I would never treat an existing customer or potential customer in this manner.
From reading the other reviews about Atco Towing and Recovery on Unilocal,this seems to be common practice with them.

I went to Atco tow in concord today to remove my belongings out of my car. A lovely lady by the name of FAY went above and beyond to help me out in any way possible she could. Its nice to know we still have good people in this world. Also a gentlemen by the name of Andrew helped me out as well and him himself was also very kind. I cant see how someone can write a review talking badly upon someone who is so kind and only doing their job. I want to thank them for being so kind to me as it was a sad day to start. I recommend Atco Tow if you need a tow truck. Thanks again

awful awful awful!!! whoever I spoke with on the phone regarding my car being towed had THE WORST customer service. when i went to the office to retrive me car the woman behind the desk was having a conversation with someone on the phone (being very short and abrupt) she than hung up and complained about whoever she was talking to, part way explaining thier situation to me. um, not my business. how unprofessional. my childrens car seats were in the vehicle as well as the information stating it belonged to me. $ 300 to take my car (the vehicle I drive back and forth to work daily as well as drive my children to school) is an absolute rip off. these people are crooks. I’m not sure how they can sleep at night

My morning starts off with a flat tire. Errr. I immediately go on trusted Unilocal to find a tow truck. I find this company with good probably fake reviews. I give them a call and was advised estimated 30 minutes. Ok, great so I set it up. Maybe I can still make it to work on time.
I’m watching my mirror about 25 minutes in to it waiting for my help to arrive. Then I get a phone call that they have to cancel because they have a police call that is priority and they only have class one driver! Ummm… my driver should be here within the next 5 minutes. I’m told nope it will now be a 1 hour and 45 minute wait. …
Now at the same time Concord Police arrive lights flashing and all because I’m broke down on a busy road. I advise them that this tow company is crap. They called another tow with a 5 – 10 minute arrival.
Perfect so I have 5 – 10 minutes to write this review tool warn you that this company is not reliable. But if you don’t mind that their is a chance of them canceling you or you waiting for hours then this company might be good for you.

Carl came by to give me a tow from concord to alameda. He quoted me a very competitive price! When he showed up, he actually got my car running with his magic touch in about 2 min and saved me a bunch of money not having to tow it home anymore. Great customer service from the time you call to the time they arrive. Give them a call, they’ll be over right away!

just used atco for the first time! so glad i did. carl jacked up my suv in his clean newer towing truck and gave me a lift to the mechanic. atco was prompt and $ 15 cheaper than the other company i called and 100% nicer and efficient. i would highly recommend this towing company!

When the brakes on our boat trailer failed, it looked like our weekend plans we’re dead in the water. We we’re looking at a 4 hour haul from the bay area to Tahoe and we had no idea what it might cost or if we could even find someone on short notice.
We called ATCO and within 40 mins we were on our way. The driver, Carl, was outstanding! We made the trip in record time. Carl went above and beyond, helped us with some heavy lifting and assisted us in getting the boat/​trailer situated once we arrived. Excellent rate and even better service. Highly recommend these guys if you’re ever in need of a tow!

I ran out of gas in Concord taking my daughter to Gymnastics, and I had to drive my son to guitar lessons in Pleasant Hill. Having to be somewhere in 30 minutes, I quickly called ATCO towing and told them my situation. The tow truck showed up in 10 minutes which was amazing, and he had back on the road and we were on time to guitar lessons. Thanks ATCO for coming to the rescue. You guys are great! I’ll be recommending you to everybody!!!

When my big bike decided to take an unexpected nap on Olympic Blvd in Walnut Creek, Carl from ATCO arrived within 20 minutes from when I called to load the beast up and get him to the repair shop before they closed for a long weekend. Way to go Carl!

Have you ever heard the definition of a Ford? Found On Road Dead. This is what happened to me with my old Ford, while driving out to visit my daughters in the East Bay. It is so stressful to be stuck on the freeway, with your car smoking and cars whizzing by. I called ATCO Towing and I have never been so glad to see anybody pull up. The driver did everything to make me feel comfortable and towed the car to a shop. I guess dead means dead after all, as I bought a new car. I wouldn’t hestitate to call this company again. They were very professional, helpful and I thought their price was reasonable. Hopefully, I won’t have to use them again but you should.

Up from LA on a business trip and my car broke down on 680. These guys showed up fast and the driver was so nice! Don’t write a lot of reviews, but they made my situation better and usually towing guys get a bad rap, so they deserve a great one! A++

broke down on 680, I called atco to get my car towed to a nearby mechanic. The operator was real friendly and told me wouldnt take long for the truck to get there. They ended up showing up within minutes. Was awesome!!! all in all great service and glad I called them. good people to get you out of a bad situation, recommend 100%.

I had my car break down on the freeway. AAA towed it to the dealership. When the quote came back too high to even consider I called Atco to tow my car to another shop down the street. Atco was able to schedule me in for the same day and at a very reasonable price. Service was professional and friendly. I would definitely call them again if I needed another tow.

When a customer broke down on our property we called Atco. They responded quickly and the driver was a good man to work with. He helped turn a bad situation into a pleasant one. The customer was pleased with the service provide and although he car had to be towed away he left happy. Customer service is an important part of our service and working with Atco made this situation end on a bright note. I would use them again and would refer Atco to anyone in need.
