Great location to stop off if in a hurry for some provisions. High quality food w/specialty imports. Exemplary butchery counter, high quality meats. Intimate space, helpful, staff.

This place is crazy overpriced even for Concord, and there’s not a great selection. You would do better to go to Farfalle, just down the road, or even Crosby’s. If you want to spend a lot of money — but on food that is worth it — go to the Cheese Shop, also in Concord.

An amazing local store with best quality natural meats and fresh-made deli specialties, a creative and great wine selection, and best of all, people running the place and working there who connect very personally with customers. Top quality vegetables, cheeses, and other accoutrements. For those who want to shop local, this place is perfect.

In short: Small selection, but well selected. I was glad to see a shop with real food for sale, unlike the trash processed food they sell at the big supermarket about 100 yards away. Step inside and you can’t go wrong –unless you insist on buying the generic Raisin Bran, which is there just to comfort those still getting used to organic foods. CP offers a few choice veggies, a butcher in the back, organic dairy, and a thoughtful wine section with plenty of good US produced wines. I couldn’t help but laugh my way home after a funny encounter with the clerk. It wouldn’t keep me from buying here again, but I still feel like sharing it, in the spirit of the season. I will write it in the form of a 30 second play. Enjoy. Title: Modern-day religious warfare– Concord, MA. — — — — — — — — — — — — — Lara enters a small shop to buy milk and Challah(bread for the Sabbath). As she is checking out, the following dialogue ensues: Clerk: Merry Christmas! Lara: I celebrate Chanukah…(pointing to the bread) Clerk: Well, have a Merry Christmas anyway! Lara: No thanks. Clerk: Its still a day that exists and it can still be great!!! So here’s to days that exist, in all their glory. I raise my kiddish cup to them, and to Concord Provisions!

We went to Concord Provisions and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of natural, local foods. There were many high-quality local items that I had never seen before. We bought some local pattie-pan squashes, some miniature Boursault(or smelly Boursault-like) «bells» cheeses, and some Vermont Peanut Butter Company Champlain Cherry(cherry chocolate almond butter). These were all very good, and — for what they were — reasonably priced. Some of the other shoppers were a little eye-rollingly stuck up, so watch out for that. I’m looking forward to returning for some selections at their incredible-looking butcher counter.

Local purveyor of fine foods, Provisions is a good choice for high quality basic foods and alcohol. Beer, wine, and the hard stuff. Decent selection. Provisions really shines as a butcher, carrying local top notch meats, and they can order in for you whatever they don’t have in the case. Service is OK, but the more often you go, the better it gets as they start to recognize you. I suppose it also helps if you went to high school with some of the people working behind the counter… I always try to support local before heading to the supermarket, but sometimes I gotta when Provisions falls short on selection of fresh produce. I do, however, appreciate that they carry almost exclusively organic :)
