I just had Contra Costa Door service rep come to check on my garage door. Allen was the epitome of a model service person. He came right on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. He thoroughly checked the door and lift. He serviced the door by lubing the hinges and even gave me the can to keep! The last time I used this company was in 2006 and they remembered EVERYTHING about the history of my door and lift! WOW! This company is BEYOND IMPRESSIVE! I’ll ALWAYS recommend this company to EVERYONE. I have NOTHING negative to say about this company!

I phoned CC Door feeling frantic! I had gone with another company that sent me a flyer in the mail and the entire experience with the other company was a nightmare. The garage door was installed all wrong and they charged us a fortune. I phoned CC Door asking if someone could come out right away and help me. They sent a polite and experienced service tech out to me within one hour. He was appalled at the sight of my garage door! They gave me a very reasonable estimate and scheduled to come back to remedy the problem caused by us going to a fly by night company! I trust Contra Costa Door and highly recommend their services to anyone who desires to be treated politely & fair! Not to mention the vast amount of experience that goes with their service calls! Very reasonable prices as well. Thank you CC Door! You saved us!

I had a broken spring but at the time I called I did not know what was wrong. I was told over the phone what the problem was based upon my description and got a same day appointment for latter in the afternoon. About an hour later the service tech, Jeremy called me and he said he had time to do it within an hour and that was even better for me. Jeremy came by and had the spring changed out and the door mechanisms all oiled up in less than 15 minutes. It was very remarkable to see how efficiently he got the job done and with a great sense of humor to boot. We use the garage door as our main entrance/​egress from our home so it is an important part of the house. The Contra Costa Door phone number sticker is now on my door and will be called anytime I need my garage door worked on. Thanks for the great service.

Today my dear old dad closed the garage door on my kid’s bike as I was trying to leave the house. Bike: unscathed. Garage door: looked hopeless. Tracks bent, wire dangling, door crooked and stuck open. I called Contra Costa Door hoping they could come right away and even though they were very booked up, they had just finished a job early and they squeezed me in. They showed up in under an hour, fixed the garage door in under an hour, and the bill did not make my eyes pop as I feared it would. Eric also adjusted the down force on the door so this will hopefully never happen again. Eric complmetely saved my day and pocketbook and I am very grateful. I will definitely be calling CCD again for my next door issue.

Great service. Alan came out on the same day as I called them to repair our door opener. Arrived on time, quickly identified the problem and fixed it. Gave me some great advice on a new door opener which we know we will need soon, but did not try to sell it to us now as our current opener is hanging in there. He also replaced the bulb in the unit while he was here! Great customer service. Highly recommend.

We’ve used Contra Costa Door several times through the years (75 year old home…). When I initially had to call this time, I was afraid of a week or two wait. NOT THE CASE! They were able to schedule us for the next day! Eric came out – he was very professional and particularly very thoughtful as he tried to figure out our «Winchester Mystery House» type garage door set up, which we had inherited with this old house 25 years ago. Naturally, our problem was intermittent, we ended up needing another call a couple weeks later (today). Luckily, we got Eric again and he gave it more tweeking. He didn’t try to «sell» us – he just quietly kept studying the issue. We are sooo impressed! We will never use any other company.

I called last night because my door fell apart and my cars were stuck inside. They called me the following day before 8am and had someone to my house my 2pm. Carlos was wonderful! He discovered the problem, explained that my springs should be replaced and has my door working better than ever. He even helped my program my new car so it too can open my door (I could never make it work). Thank you Contra Costa Door and Carlos for having wonderful customer service and knowledge!

Another satisfied customer. These guys walked me through the basic checks for a non operational door, and concluded we needed to replace the aging opener. 24 hours later we had a top of the line Liftmaster with wifi and battery backup, and a new panel coded before he left. Couldn’t be happier.

Very happy with the service we received from this company. I called and spoke with Brian who asked all the right questions and determined that our spring had broken and that they would be able to send someone out the same day. At the appointed time (they provided a 2 hour window) the technician Eric arrived and got to work replacing the spring.
He also noticed that the limit switch was damaged and needed replacing, but since he didn’t have the part and wasn’t sure if was still available (an old garage opener) he said he would check and get back to me. Sure enough, they called back and arranged to fit it the following day and waived the labor charge on that visit which was unexpected.
So in short I was very impressed with the knowledgeable and courteous service and would not hesitate to recommend this company. Thanks again Eric!

Alan came out to service our garage door on our new home and he was very professional and kind. He had a great attitude; which is very hard to get these days. He educated me on several things about garage doors and recommended better ideas. I will recommend contra Costa doors to anyone. I am happy my builder finally did something right by choosing this company.

If there was a 6 or 7 star I’d give it!!! Alan came this morning to examine our garage door — which I accidentally ran into! We thought we had to buy a new one. He was early (a bonus), professional and very courteous. He went into the garage and saw that it could be fixed. He could have just sold us a door and not have indicated that he could fix it but he didn’t. His honesty and integrity with us is something we will not forget.
Contra Costa Door will be our service provider for life! I highly recommend them.

My garage door decided to stop working one day so I pinged my neighbor who is a realtor for a recommendation on a good garage repair company. Contra Costa Door was the vendor given to me so I quickly looked up the company on Unilocal to research whether or not I would in fact go with the recommendation. Reviews looked good so I proceed and schedule my first appt about 2 weeks out. Fast forward and unfortunately my garage spring breaks leaving my garage door completely inoperable. I of course call Contra Costa door again to come out. I book my appt for about 8 days out and am told the technician would arrive between 11 & 2pm. I take the day off and call Contra Costa Garage at 11:00 am that morning to see if they have a better estimate of ETA. I speak to a very nice gentleman who says the tech isn’t picking up his phone so I provide my cell phone # and ask for an update call. Fast forward to 1:40 pm I finally get a call from the tech telling me that he is «wrapping up and will be at my house in about 30 minutes.» I realize that this means that the tech isn’t even going to make it to my house in the «window» that I was scheduled for! I needed to head out and pick up my kids. I call the company asking to see if the technician can come back at 3:00 pm. His response «uh unfortunately I can’t be late to my next appt». This comment makes me upset as they didn’t have the decency to be on time to my appt or to even call to let me know that I could have used those 3 hours to run errands but he wants to tell me about how he doesn’t want to be late to his next appt! The tech says «I’ll just have to come back.» This flippant comment was so insulting as it’s not that easy for me to take time off! Fast forward– one conversation with one of the partners of the company who did nothing– I ended up going with the Door Doctor. Called the same day that Contra Costa Door didn’t show up. I explained the situation to the woman on the phone. She sympathized with my frustration and was able to book me an appt for 2 days later on a Fri for 9−12pm.
Fri morning I receive a nice call letting me know that my technician is on his way. Imagine that! Our tech arrived early and went to work immediately. After going back & forth between the garage & his truck he tells me some info that I was already aware of (broken spring) but he also tells me that my track is slightly bent. He replaces the spring, works to straighten out the track and an hour later my garage was up and operable again! I told him that contra costa door was recommending that I replace my entire door and i was curios if he agreed with their recommendation. He smiled and said «I don’t see a need at this time unless you have specific reasons why you want a new door?» My gut was right. I was being uphold by Contra Costa Door! Bummer. Won’t be using or referring them ever. I also told my realtor about my horrible experience with them. She’s now referring The Door Doctor!

If you look closely there seems to be a pattern with bad scheduling & no shows with this company.

I would recommend this company in a heartbeat. I needed to replace the garage door weatherstrip and install new control panel to be compatible with myQ mobile application. I went to the showroom and Allen showed me how to install these two. He was very knowledgeable, patience and professional. He even gave me a quick lesson on how to maintain my garage door. I left with the products Allen recommended and was very happy with pricing as well. With my friend’s help, we accomplished the two tasks in less than three hours.

Super customer service from Contra Costa Door! The spring broke on my garage door today and they gave me an appointment for the next morning. I got a call a few hours later to say they had a cancellation and could fix it same-​day.
The technician, Jeff, was very friendly and fast. He also pointed out some problematic cracks in our door caused by hitting it with our car. Eventually it will cause the door to fold, so we are planning to replace it. It’s great customer service and attention to detail like this that I really appreciate from Contra Costa Door.
We also love the new ultra quiet Liftmaster opener with iPhone app we had installed a few months ago. Not sure what I did without it as now I can open or close the garage door from anywhere in the world!

This company has figured out customer service. We had an issue with our garage door. A early call today with a request for service was answered at 7:30 in the morning by Kevin. Due to a last minute call, Kevin committed to calling me back soon with a yes or no on service today. He called back within 30 minutes and committed to a service rep. being here today.
The rep. was timely, fixed the issue and we are good to go.
It could have only got better if he said it was free !!! :)

If I could give 10 stars, I would.
I found this company on Unilocal a couple of years ago when my parent’s garage door suddenly stopped working. I remember Contra Costa Door made every effort to revive it even though it was a 25 year old system. My dad decided to keep the door and put in a new, much quieter garage door opener (I didn’t know they were 2 separate entities). It was $ 500 which I thought was very reasonable given that the new system was so silent and smooth and my dad loved it! (there were other, less expensive openers but my dad had his heart set on this one). The technicians were so informative, professional, and patient with my parents, I made a mental note of the company name.
Just today, I was at my brother’s house and they were complaining about how their garage door hadn’t been working for over a week and that «no one could figure it out». My brother had called Lift Master (the makers of the opener) and somewhere in the conversation, they recommended he cut the wires to the sensors, so he did. When I heard this, I immediately called Contra Costa Door and spoke to Brian. He was very knowledgeable (and surprised that someone had recommended he cutting of the wires) and patiently walked me through the steps to figure out the issue. Because the sensor wires had been cut, he sent someone out to take a look.
Allen came out and fixed the problem in less then 10 minutes! He knew everything there was to know about these doors and was such a professional, decent person. He explained how the system worked and why it had stopped working in the first place. I couldn’t have asked for a better technician. Excellent customer service!

if the was a minus I would put that… I called made an appt. for service the gentlemen told me that my appt was for Friday between 8 – 10 and if I needed to cancel to call them. The and no one showed up. when I called to find out what happened. Russ said I it was not on the books and that I was going to call back to make sure I wanted the appt… The is the STUPIDEST thing I have every heard,

My girlfriend called Contra Costa Garage Doors because our garage door was not closing properly. It would slide down the track and get stuck at the end. She scheduled an appointment for Friday afternoon at 4 pm and a repairman named Mark appeared 30 mins late. He then gave a cursory review of the garage opener, tried to open and close the garage door a few times but he never took off the cover. He then declared after 10 minutes tops that we needed a new garage door opener for $ 450 since the «mother board» was malfunctioning. However, this made no sense since the garage door opener was only two years old. Long story short, she called the garage door manufacturer. One of the gears was stripped, and I installed a new part that the manufacturer sent to us for free.
My girlfriend wanted to write this review about her experience with Contra Costa Garage Doors because she really resents contractors who go to our house then try to overcharge and take advantage of you especially when they are greeted by a female.

I was so impressed with this company that I called to thank them and wanted to write this review. They’ve been in business for over 50 years and it’s clear why.
My garage door broke the night before I called. It was ajar, half-​way down and a bit of an emergency for my home’s security. In the morning I spoke to Russell who rearranged their schedule so a repair (basically simply getting it to shut completely) could be done as quickly as possible. They were there in less than an hour.
The repairman was willing to give me a quote for a new door, as I was certain it was necessary. However he fixed it completely, buying me time to consider and new door and for a very reasonable and fair price. He was quick and easy to talk to. I was very happy and highly recommend working with this longtime established company.
