We are Chad & Jenny Custock, a photography husband & wife team. We pride ourselves in having a clean, creative style that truly lets the emotion of the moment shine through. Together, we strive to capture unique & beautiful images for some of the best people out there. Whether you are recently engaged, getting married, embracing your season of maternity, welcoming your new baby home or documenting your family, we want to capture it… we want to tell your story.

We stray away from posing & encourage interaction. Our favorite moments are the ones that aren’t planned, but were real to what was happening that day. We will make you feel confident & comfortable in front of a camera because we know how awkward it can be. A big part of our job is helping you relax & be yourself, so that the images truly reflect YOU.

In our spare time, we are raising our 2 beautiful girls in the Bay Area, exploring the coast, grabbing a Jasmine Lime at Peet’s or having friends over for dinner.

History

Established in 2009.

We met when we were 15 during a biology class in High School… seriously. When we first started dating, we realized in weeks we would make incredible companions… and then as time went on, we realized we would also make perfect business partners. We had different strengths, different weaknesses & yet the same passion. So, in 2009 our business was born.

After we got married, we decided to pursue photography in full-​throttle. It has been a wild ride & an absolute blast. We have been fortunate to work with the best couples on earth & we leave any encounter we have with our clients feeling blessed & humbled from the privilege of working with them. We experience such joy when we work together & witness one another in their element. We feel pride in each other’s work & in the images we create together. But most of all, we feel abundantly blessed to be glorifying God through the art of photography side by side.

Chad has fantastic energy and people skills… in Jenny’s unbiased opinion. He has the ability to talk to anyone about anything. He loves to hear about your passion & why you love what you love. Chad is brilliant in the techy-​world & builds computers for fun. Because of this strength, he has made himself a student of the actual machine behind the lens. Chad is also incredibly business-​savvy & embraces being an entrepreneur.

Jenny is obsessed with styling & designing. She has Graphic Design major & teaches photography. What she loves more than anything though is the connection you can have with your client. She thrives on the relationship aspect of photography & that there is a chemistry that can be created on location between shooter & subject. Jenny loves that real conversation & stories are exchanged throughout a shoot & that you both leave the set feeling connected to each other.

Using Jenny and Chad to take our family portraits was unlike any photo shoot experience I’ve ever had. Let’s be real– photo shoots can be uncomfortable and stressful. Our experience with Jenny and Chad was completely the opposite. They have an eye for shots and keep it light. They took the reigns on positioning us in flattering ways and helping us to feel natural in front of the camera. I would use them for any occasion. They not only can take quality pictures, but they have an eye for beauty and capturing the magic :) Highly, highly recommend.

Chad and Jenny are the best! They are so talented with the camera! They give such good direction when taking the photos especially when you aren’t super comfortable in front of the camera. They make you feel at ease and are really sweet people. They shot my husband and I engagement and wedding photos and we are blown away at how beautiful they turned out!

Chad and Jenny are the BEST! I might as well get right to the point, because its true! They photographed both our engagement and wedding pictures and they are above and beyond everything that we could have ever wanted.
My husband and I were both a little camera shy before our first session with them. They made us feel so comfortable and knew what to do when we didn’t. By the end of it, it felt like we had known them forever. We feel like they are good friends and we are so thankful for their time, talent, and for capturing all the special moments that we want to remember forever.

Chad and Jenny have quickly become two of my favorite people, so much so that I am trying to convince my husband to move so they can take photos of every aspect of our lives.
We used Chad & Jenny for our wedding in early October 2014. They were everything we wanted and more, they are extremely talented, the nicest people you’d ever meet and so easy to work with. I am not used to being in front of the camera, nor is my husband and they made us feel right at home. They staged the perfect first look and site for our photos and made sure we were comfortable in every aspect. They gave us tips, made us laugh and I cannot imagine spending my wedding day with any other people. Looking at the photos they took, we are in awe. We chose not to get a videographer and I don’t miss it at all, because these beautiful photos fully captured our day. They were so flexible with our time, and also helped keep us on schedule.
We loved them, want them to be our best friends and are so lucky we were introduced to them. I would recommend them for any event in your life.

We we’re looking for a photographer to capture our May wedding in a more journalistic perspective, ya know, instead of the posey look… We wanted the photos to bring out the real moments we were experiencing and record the memories we we’re making.
We had already seen their work and after speaking with Chad and Jenny, we knew they totally just got us! Meeting with them just confirmed that we wanted to use them. They are fun but professional.
My husband and I had never taken photos together and we were kinda shy. Chad and Jenny talk you through it and have a way of making you feel so comfortable. Our photos turned out amazing. They can take an area where you might not see all of its beauty and turn it into the most beautiful scene within a photo. True talent.
When your planning a wedding, there’s a lot of hard work that you don’t want to be overlooked; They stay connected the entire time so that they don’t miss any of the details.
We will definitely be using them again in our future. They are awesome. :]

I recently worked with Jenny and Chad at a Wedding in May. I do wedding planning and they actually referred me to their client after I helped them with their wedding a few years back. They were great to work with then and just as wonderful this time around, too. They were both very professional and knowledgeable, helping the bride and groom capture the best moments of the day, as well as wrangling all the family and friends without even breaking a sweat. It is always a pleasure for me to work with photographers that can hold their own and have a great disposition as well. They kept everyone on time (my biggest challenge as a day-​of coordinator) and the pictures came out AMAZING! I will definitely recommend them to my future clients and hope to work with them again.

Chad and Jenny photographed our wedding this past May, and we cannot stop saying enough good things about the pair. Not only are the photographs absolutely stunning, they both did an excellent job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. In fact, we were so happy to have them at the wedding, they felt more like good friends with a camera in hand. They are the best! They worked the crowd, interacted and engaged our guests, everyone had an amazing time with them.
The day of, the two of them were extremely calm and went with the flow of everything. One of their great qualities is that they are incredibly adaptable, so if things change, they always find a solution to make it work, and make it the best for the final outcome of the photographs. Leading up to the big day, they did an excellent job of communicating and staying in touch. Which was great because it allowed us to discuss the importance of specific photos and really fine tune what we wanted. Overall, we highly recommend the pair, you’ll have a one of a kind experience and your photos will turn out beautiful, we can’t thank them enough! We’re so happy to have these beautiful images for the rest of our lives.

Chad and Jenny did all of the photography for our wedding as well as engagement photos and we could not be happier. The entire experience was wonderful, they made us feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. They were fun, interactive, and engaging and provided great insights into what they thought would look good and voiced concerns about things they didn’t quite agree with. I appreciate that they had a clear process and were very professional the entire time. They made it so easy on our wedding day and made sure they pulled us if they needed shots or if the lighting was just right. They use some of the best equipment out there and spend lots of time editing photos to make sure everything is perfect. If we did not live so far away, we would use Chad and Jenny for all major photoshoot worthy life events, still might if travel works out for us. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, fun, and enjoyable photo session with pictures that turn out amazing. Chad and Jenny know their stuff.

I love Custock Photography! With our third and finial newborn I dreamed of having a professional photography session. Somehow I missed the boat with my first two children. Chad and Jenny came on a Sunday morning and were fantastic! They have a way about them that is both professional and personal at the same time. I believe that is essential when photographing life’s most intimate moments. I teared up (in the best way possible) over every photo they gave me. They have a great eye and know just how to capture a beautiful moment. You can see in their work that this is more than a job to them. I LOVE Custock Photography! I searched for a long time looking for the perfect style and price, and I found it with them. Not only are their pictures AMAZING, but they are wonderful, incredible people who really care about what they are doing. They are SO patient, fun, and most definitely have an eye for detail.
They took my engagement and wedding photos and I still can’t stop looking at them. After I chose them as photographers, Jenny let me know that she was pregnant and would most likely not be at my wedding. They chose a different second photographer that they trusted, Kevin, who was awesome as well. They even agreed to have Kevin shoot my engagement photos with Chad to calm my nerves. Jenny came with and helped pose us (which was not easy because I am so awkward). Those pictures are everything I could have ever wished for.
Chad and Kevin were incredible at my wedding (even through my bridezilla moments). They kept me calm and made sure I got the pictures I wanted. They caught all the right moments to help me remember my special day.
I most definitely recommend hiring them for your photography needs! I will be going back to them for any other pictures we might need in the future! :)

Chad and Jenny gave us the BEST engagement photo session we could have asked for! Neither my fiancé nor I enjoy being in front of a camera at ALL, but we knew we wanted to have photos taken before our wedding. We aren’t originally from the area so we had no idea where to take photos or what we wanted to do with ourselves in them. Jenny gave super helpful suggestions and was always incredibly responsive when I would email her questions about the shoot.
When the day came, my shy fiancé was pretty nervous. Somehow Chad and Jenny made him (and me) feel extremely comfortable and got us laughing. Again, we weren’t really sure what to do in front of the camera, but they kept the suggestions flowing, kept us at ease, and after a few minutes I felt like we were already old friends.
I was so happily shocked when I received the digital files and the pictures looked gorgeous! After so many months poring over Pinterest, being jealous of other peoples’ engagement photos, we were finally the proud owners of our own awesome set. My family and friends still gush over them and it’s been more than 6 months since we first got them. I only wish I knew more people in the Bay Area to refer Chad and Jenny to! Hopefully this Unilocal review helps more of you find them :) They’re the absolute best.
