History

Established in 1974.

In 1974, Dr. Garry Yacoub began the personalized optometric practice that has grown into Foresight Optometry. In 2006 Dr. Jeanette Hochstatter joined him as an associate and the relationship between both doctors and all of our patients grew. When Dr. Yacoub retired in 2009, he turned over the care of his special patients to Dr. Hochstatter, who now provides the one on one care all of our patients have come to love. With our new space, we now welcome new patients and take many forms of insurance. We look forward to meeting you!

Business Owner

Dr. Hochstatter graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern College of Optometry in 1987. She has owned two private Optometric practices, has served on multiple optometric society boards, and actively participates in her community and the local schools. Today, you will find her working hard to continually improve the patient care and service at the new Foresight Optometry facility.

Dr. Hochstatter has been married for 25 years, and has two children who currently attend Universities in Oregon and California. Her primary recreation outside of optometry

I had my eye exam here 2 weeks ago. I walked in and felt instantly comfortable. Every was so nice and seemed to love their jobs! A patient walked in a few minutes after me and they knew her by name. They seem to really care about their patients.
During my eye exam everything was explained to me and they went into detail about what they were doing and why.
When it came time to order my glasses, Marcello and I picked some frames. I had a very small budget and told him so. He didn’t try to sell me something more expensive. He told me which would be the cheapest and explained all the billing.
I really liked everyone here. If you’re looking for an eye doctor, look no further. Go here!

I am frequently astonished at the awesomeness of these people.
They bought me presents!
First, I bought prescription sunglasses there, having just moved to the area I was not a patient, just there for glasses. They were very nice and let me whine as I was big, pregnant and grouchy at the time. Well, when my glasses came in and I went to get them they had baby gifts for me! How sweet eh?
Several months later I was having an eye issue and went to see the Dr here since I had such a good experience there before. She was so nice and thorough, explaining my eye condition so much better than anyone had before. She gave me many home treatment options and was so patient with all my questions.

This was the first time I used Foresight optometrist, after calling some other places I called Foresight optometry and Teri went out of her way to get me an appointment. She called me back when she said she would and this cinched the deal.

I would like to start of by saying Dr. Hochstatter rocks! I have seen her a number of times this year. The first time I had driven my brother there as he wasn’t able to drive himself due to an eye injury. I decided to stick around during his appointment and was impressed with how incredibly thrall Dr. Hochstatter was. I returned a couple months after that with my father for his appointment, then finally went in for my appointment last month. After collectively spending a great amount of hours there, I can without a doubt say I will not be changing doctors anytime soon! (More like ever) not only is Dr. Hochstatter consistently tending to all of your needs, she’s also very personable always with a great big smile. The office as a whole is very attentive and friendly. My absolute favorite is Jackie! she helped me pick out some pretty nice frames, She’s a real sweat heart.

Wow, I had to double check that this was the correct business after seeing all of the 5-​stars, but it is, and my experience here was completely different. I had purchased glasses here in the past and they were fine, but this time I spent over $ 1,000 and wish I had spent it with a business that appreciated my business and was a lot more welcoming.
I went in Friday about 30 minutes before they closed because I lost my sunglasses and needed to replace them quickly. I was immediately made to feel that I was an imposition in their day. According to their website, Teri Williams «is dedicated to making sure our patients’ visit to our office exceeds their expectations.» In my case she failed miserably. She wasn’t helpful at all in showing me what was available and answering my questions. She passed me off as soon as she could so that she could make her personal hotel reservations on the phone. The gentleman that then assisted me was much better, but every time we needed Teri’s involvement she acted annoyed and rushed such as «you don’t have any benefits available.» without offering any additional details. I didn’t have my prescription with me and she said they couldn’t get it until Tuesday because they are closed on Monday and told me to fill out a form. Instead, I called my optometrist (Eye Carumba in the city… they are GREAT!) and they said they would fax it right over to them. Teri also insisted that I pay right away (before I was even finished getting measured) and made an appointment for me to pick my glasses up without asking for my input on a date/​time that worked for me and rushed me out the door. Now I get to wait three weeks for the glasses.
I really wish I had walked out as soon as I encountered Teri’s attitude and gotten the glasses elsewhere.

It just doesn’t get any better than Foresight Optometry. I had an eye emergency (o.k. not a 911 or anything — but an issue that needed to be addressed quickly). My husband had been to Foersight a couple of months prior, so I thought I would give them a call to get an appointment to be seen in the next day our so. Unbelievably they were able to fit me in 2 hours later!!! I was so impressed with all of the staff, these ladies are so professional and friendly. Dr. Hochstatter was wonderful, she took time listening and explaining.. . and I was back in business in a couple of days! Thank you Foresight, I’ll be back!

Foresight Optometry is an excellent practice. Dr. Hochstatter is a great doctor, very knowledgeable — I trust her completely. The staff is friendly and helpful. The frames are beautiful, very up-​to-​date and fashionable. The staff helps me pick out the best frames for me, and which lens choices I need. Some different faces and same great service. Just had annual check and still my favorite doctors office visit! You complainers keep going to your Costco and your eye places with 1990 equipment.
I went from contacts to glasses this time and never felt pressured at all at what to buy. Sure I asked how things looked and got opinions but I asked and much appreciated…
This is a first class operation and the ladies there are awesome. Up to date stuff and I don’t know how much more of a selection you peeps could want??? Try the eyeglass convention or the lens expo if they have one… geeze
It’s the lens that counts. Style is one thing but I had plenty of choices.

Loved everything office, staff, Doctor but the amount of frames for my big ol fat head was a disappointment. Staff is super friendly but professional, doctor was very thorough and explained everything to the T. I will keep them but hopefully get a larger selection of frames for fat heads like mine.

As a dentist, my eyesight is of the utmost importance to me. I have always had good optometric care over the years because I won’t settle for less than the best. My first experience at Foresight Optometry blew me away. After I received my first set of glasses from Foresight, I made a point of stopping in just to tell them how much I appreciated my new eyewear. I have now been for my second check up and again am very impressed. As a professional, I can highly recommend Dr. Hochstatter. I have also, in the past, ordered a back-​up set of glasses from a discount optometrist, and there is no comparison. You absolutely get what you pay for, and I, for one, feel that excellent eye care is extremely valuable. Excellence is what you will get here. They also spent a lot of time with me on style selection and that was meaningful to me and I appreciated their input. I also appreciated not needing to have my eyes dilated. All in all, a great experience and I am very pleased.

The team at Foresight is top notch!
Always so very friendly and professional. I don’t think I have ever had a doctor give me such a thorough exam and explanation before. I came home feeling well-​educated on my eyes. Plus the doctor was super personable, positive and up-​beat. Actually, the whole staff was a pleasure.
I didn’t have a budget to spend on new eye wear, but with the help of the friendly staff, I got a great smart looking pair of glasses that my insurance covered 100%. I never opened my wallet. That never happens!

Came back only because of Deanna but Because of Joyce never again and the doctor didn’t say much when I told her my complaint. Deanna was off that day and Joyce was at the desk I told her I had dual insurance And she stated they don’t coordinate benefits anymore. I said really because it was done the last time I was here. I said well it’s ok I will just have to go elsewhere and she said well I can try and explained ins. Companies won’t allow coordination of benefits anymore doctor agreed with her. Anyway so we stayed and in the end she mad a huge fuss over doing that. Needless to say left disappointed and didn’t even finish my exam. What a waste of time. When I got home called both my insurance companies and asked if the didn’t allow coordination of benefits and they both said we do it all the time maybe Joyce was just being too lazy. She has a bad attitude.
On my visit before I got the wrong prescription and when Joyce handed me my reading glasses and a card to read from everything looked worse. I told her sorry but I see more blurry now. Joyce stated oh honey your eyes must be tired from work and I said well I didn’t work today. The doctor checked and indeed they were the wrong prescription. Even with that I tried them again but never again. They were close to home but found a much better doctor and staff in the next shopping center. Don’t need the aggravation of Joyce hating to please the pt. And the doctor allows it

Foresight is absolutely the best out there. The staff is helpful, polite and very friendly. Their level of service will not disappoint… Best of all, Dr. Hocksteader is fantastic. She is as friendly as she is knowledgeable, and that’s saying a lot! In closing I’d like to say that I started going to this office when I used to live close by. In spite of my move to another community, I feel the drive is worth it. If you want 5 Star treatment — make an appointment.

I have a yearly eye exam there. The Dr. remembers me each when I come in, and the things we previously had discussed. I never felt like they tried to push a sale on me. If you asked them to show you different things they will. Always friendly and helpful staff, ecplained all the steps when checking my eyes.
I wouldn’t go to another place. Highly recommend Dr. Hochstatter and staff!

I was very skeptical after reading some of these reviews but after calling around I decided to come to this office and I am very pleased with the level of service and professionalism. From beginning to end my experience was above and beyond what I could have expected.
It was easy to make an appointment for an eye exam and I did not have to wait very long. Dr. Hochstatter was very friendly and warm; her confidence was reassuring and she explained everything.
Jackie is amazing! She went out of her way to see if they had my lenses in the office so I could have my glasses same day. I don’t know what I would’ve done without glasses for two long weeks! Everyone else was very helpful with picking glasses, offering to take pictures for me, etc. Alma spent her time helping get the glasses to fit perfectly and she was very personable.
Did I mention they helped me entertain my toddler with Legos, stickers, and crayons?! No one seemed to panic as my little girl ran around touching EVERYTHING!
From the high level of customer service, the great designer selections, and friendly office staff I would recommend this office!

I have been a patient of Dr. Hochstatter for 2 years. She is amazing and professional! She really takes the time to explain everything she is doing. I truly trust her and feel like my eye health is in great hands! She even has the latest technology– no more horrible eye dilations!
The staff is also very nice and helpful! I never have to wait and they have great customer service. They really took their time with me to help me pick out a new pair of glasses that looked good on my face shape!
Would definitely recommend Dr. Hochstatter! They even have Saturday appointments!

Dr. Hochstatter was very professional and provided an in depth review of my entire eye health and explained all the test very well. Compared to previous results and communicated things that I can be doing to improve my long term vision.
But then the business model basically turns in to how expensive of a pair of glasses they can sell you. Dr. recommended progressive lenses and started selling me on the coatings I would need for glare and protection. The sales person for glasses took me through all my options that would work with my insurance and offered to throw in various discounts and bonus’ for purchasing sunglasses at the same time. I have had less pressure from car sales people make the deal before I left the office.
I felt like I was sort of ripped off and bought more than I needed when I left, but even that would not have been so bad if they actually delivered on what was sold to me. Sunglasses did not arrive after the two weeks I was told would take to be shipped, and after 3 – 4 calls to the office in which I was told they were special orders so would take some more time, came to find out that they had never been ordered and they would have to start over.
I cancelled order, which eventually arrived, and I was not charged for glasses. Unfortunately they were put together in a rush, and never really worked and I could not bring myself to go back and get them fixed.

I don’t really understand why this place gets such terrible reviews. I’ve been going here for two years. I go in for my annual eye exam and buy my contacts and glasses here. I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen and the customer service here has been nothing but above my expectations.
They have a nice selection of frames and always work with me and my insurance to find the best way to save money.
If I had to come up with any negatives at all about this place it’s that it’s not open on weekends and that the appointments get booked fast (which is really only a problem for me because I wait until the very last minute to go in and order my contacts).
Anyway, I like this place and I highly recommend it.

I was extremely disappointed in this place after I brought my two children here for exams & to purchase eye wear.
The one star is for the friendliness of the staff. The negative 4 stars is for the long wait & the fancy new cataract testing that they never tell you includes an extra charge of $ 60 (not to take, but for allowing the doctor to open on the computer to look at & to show the patient). Like I said, I brought my two children here, one who was 13 at the time & was brought into to see the doctor without me present & the doctor asked her permission to open the cataract results on the computer… uh hello, she is a minor! I’m still puzzled on how they thought that was ok. We also waited an outrageous amount of time at our appointments, eyewear was very expensive here & we were told that we would get a phone call when their glasses came in, after waiting to hear from their office for over 2 weeks, I finally broke down to see what the hold up was & was informed that the glasses were there & that they did call us, but never left a message on our answering machine… WHAT? WHY?
If you’re looking for a new optometrist, keep looking, I wouldn’t waste your time or money$$ on this place
