Gingrich Horticulture Service specialized in keeping your landscape healthy. We fertilize your landscape on a regular schedule & keep it free of weeds, insects and diseases. A preventative Grub control treatment is recommended each spring to deter raccoons.

Rodents such as gophers, moles, voles, & ground squirrels can be very damaging to a landscape. Our technicians are trained in rodent control & on-going programs are available. Our Exterior Pest control also includes yellow jackets & bird deterrents.

Our Tree Care Program includes fertilizing, insect & disease control, snail & slug control, deep root feeding, dormant season treatments & plant inspection on each visit. We have an Arborist & a Master Arborist on staff.

Unsightly weeds can destroy a beautiful landscape. A pre emergent treatment each spring & fall to prevent seed germination will eliminate the competition between weeds & your plants. Spot spraying weeds as needed will keep your landscape the envy of the neighborhood.

History

Established in 1999.

Gingrich Horticulture Service was founded by John and Dianne Gingrich. The business started out as a husband and wife team with John in the field and Dianne working in the office. After 5 years it was time to expand and we hired our first employee who is still with us today. Since then we have hired additional field technicians and office staff. Our goal is to provide the most professional and cost effective service to our customers without compromising our quality of work.

July 23, 2013 — Gingrich Horticulture Service has been selected for the 2013 Best of Concord Award in the Pest Control Services category by the Concord Award Program.

Business Owner

John graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. He was recuited as a horticulturist by a start up company out of college to work with home owners to keep their landscape beautiful and healthy. He is still doing this today with over 30 years of experience he has built his company, Gingrich Horticulture Service based on honesty, great service and reasonable prices. He is an International Society of Arborculture Board Certified Master Arborist, Certified Pest Control Advisor, Landscape Contractor and loves all aspects of his busines. He is well respected in the «green» industry.

I first contact Gingrich several years ago when our neighborhood gardens were invaded by gophers. I was so impressed with the horticulture knowledge of the team and the ample organic practices that we wrote a contract for garden fertilizing, spraying, and feeding. After decades of doing all the garden chores myself, it has been a God-send to have Gingrich Horticulture as my garden health assistants. John, Diane, and BJ are very attentive, experienced, and always helpful. I highly recommend Gingrich Horticulture, they exhibit high values of integrity, professionalism, and responsibility.

We contacted Gingrich about something eating our newly planted diamondia in the back yard, rodent holes in the front yard, and an underground wasp nest. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful on the phone, helped us decide not to deal with the voles in the front yard saving some money, showed up on time, and did what they said they would. It’s too early to tell whether they’ve got the mole yet in the back, but I’m pretty impressed so far.

Great service! We had Gingrich out to address a gopher problem. John identified them as moles, and we decided to leave them alone since they weren’t causing a problem. John was very informative and professional. He explained the gopher vs. mole situation clearly. He identified an issue my neighbors have with their trees, which they appreciated. And — he didn’t charge me a cent for the visit since there was nothing to treat. I will definitely call them again!

We reached out to Gingrich based on a referral. Unfortunately we had an extremely disappointing experience. We always try to support local businesses and avoid the larger guys for many reason, but Gingrich turned out to be even more dishonest and unprofessional than any service provided we have ever used.
We reached out to Gingrich to look into our gopher problem, during the technician’s visit he led us to believe that we did not have a gopher problem but rather a ground squirrel problem. We trusted the experts and had them treat as they recommended but I did decide to stay very close to the treatment process and check daily to determine if the treatment was working or if the traps had caught anything. Neither the bait stations nor the traps showed any signs of activity what so ever. After 2 weeks of this we asked Gingrich to remove their so called treatments. They even tried to tell me that I would not see any activity as the bait would be eaten and the ground squirrels would die underground.
Since I was monitoring the bait stations at least 1 or 2 times a day, I told them that I did not seen any bait consumption. Their response was that their technician has been refilling the bait stations. Unfortunately I know that this is impossible as the access to our yard is locked from all sides and he would have had to jump a 6 foot fence to access our yard without consent if this indeed were true.
After the removal of their «treatments» we had very extensive landscaping work done to our yard. During this process we found and got rid of at least 10 gophers through our own means. As such we decided to challenge Gingrich on even having to pay for their services since they misled us and treated a non existent ground squirrel problem. In response they threatened to take legal action if we did not pay our invoice. To be fair we even tried to partially settle the invoice but to no avail. We have since paid the invoice in full to avoid any complications as the practices Gingrich demonstrated were very retaliatory and we did not want to have any problems.
If it is not frustrating enough to have to deal with these type of rodent problems, to have an «expert» operate their business so dishonestly with no regards to dealing with their customers problems is beyond comprehension.
BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS SERVICE PROVIDER THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN SOLVING YOUR PROBLEM, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MAKING A BUCK!!!
