I am extremely happy with the service and bedside manner of Haddon; their technician, Cris Arras was extremely friendly, explained everything to me, fixed the problem with my heater and showed me how to prevent having problems in the future; I will definitely use Haddon going forward and thumbs up on their service. –Ben

Had a guy over from Haddon last Thursday to inspect my furnace that keeps turning on and off, and is not When I answered the door he looked familiar so he went ahead and told me he remembered my house and had inspected my heater a couple of years back when he worked for Walnut Creek Heating and Air, the company I choose not to do business with two years ago when I went with Haddon which at that time had excellent service offered and fixed a simple problem with my heater. New guy (from Haddon) told me he had left Walnut Creek Heating and Air a year ago. As we walked towards my furnace he told me he remembered where it was and where he had gone under the house to inspect ducts. Without looking at my ducts and very quickly looking at my heater unit this man told me I would need to spend $ 4,400 on ducts which I needed as he remembered they were in bad shape and 8K on a new heater. Here comes the kicker… Had a friends husband out today who is in the same business (different company) look at my ducts and said they are fine! He said a couple of small leaks after looking under my house that could be fixed with a new kind of wrap that goes around existing ducts and seals and rodent proofs them!!! He also took a look at my heater and immediately saw it was giving off a code that indicated something with a vacuum hose telling the heater to turn off which is why it was turning on and off. He looked and the hose was torn. He replaced the 50 cent part and our heater immediately worked like a dream. He told me it has a good ten more years and left without taking a cent. He will be compensated believe me. I am mad and frustrated that someone dare come to my house and flat out lie and tell me I need to pay $ 12.5K when I do not need to. My guess is he is on commission because he didn’t care enough to even look past a quick glance and telling me he remembered my house. He also told me how his previous company would have charged me an extra 2K for duct work, trying to make it all sound so reasonable. I know we live in the SF Bay Area but I don’t have a money tree and I’m sure a lot of others who live here do not either. Do not trust them. On seeing their reviews it seems they get high marks when selling and installing new equipment. What if you only need a repair? Guess they are not making money on that.

Haddon replaced my entire HVAC system — condenser, evap coil, fan, all ducts, etc., moved the main furnace unit out of the center of my house and up into the attic. Up there they built an operation platform, put in a switched light, and an access ladder down to the garage level. Everything went extremely smooth, no surprises, on time and on budget. I can control everything from my phone from wherever I am. Super professional, excellent communication, and fantastic value. — THANKS HADDON!

Estimator/​sales guy came out and recommended a new Rheem furnace to replace the old gravity one that was as old as the house. built around 1910 or so. In short he said the new furnace would take up about a third the space of the old. Important b/​c basement is small and washer/​dryer there too. When the employees put it in the Rheem was small but the ducts/​returns, etc ended up taking more space. I stopped the work. And spoke with the sales guy. In short he said they could put it all in the crawl space but for an add’l $ 1800. Next day owner, Dave Haddon came out and immediately agreed to charge the location and put it in the crawl space – giving us much more room – free of charge. The two workers were helpful and efficient. the bid by Haddon was far less than 3 others, and the furnace is multistage and more btus.

We are very pleased with our new AC unit. Ryan, the sales rep. was very knowlegable and courteous. He explained everything and gave us a detailed invoice of what would be included. Kim promptly scheduled a service installation date and was very pleasant on the phone. Then installers were very professioanl, paid close attention to detail and very clean in and out of the house. They took the time to answer every question I had about what they were doing and explained everyting. We used Haddon through Home Depot and thier cost came in lower than other competitors. Overall, this company get 5 stars in all levels of service and we are loving our new AC unit.

On 5÷20÷15 I had an a/​c unit installed in my home. I am very pleased with the Rheem unit, and I was equally pleased with the courtesy and professionalism shown by the installers. They respected my home as I had asked, and they answered any question I posed to them. The day my a/​c was being installed, I discovered my water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced. Rest assured I called Haddon to complete the work.
My only complaint is that after the work was done I learned that they failed to obtain a work permit as required by law. I also learned that not having a permit for such work could void your insurance policy if anything had of gone wrong and caused a bigger issue.
They do is beautiful work, i just recommend that you make sure permits are obtained for any work you have done to protect yourself and your investment (home).

I was in need of an AC and updated finance, there was no way I was going to go another summer with no AC. So the search began for the perfect AC company. I scheduled two days of different companies to stop by and give me quotes. Haddon heating and cooling had the best reviews and the only diamond certified company. Eric stopped by and was very pleasurable to speak with. Everything he promised me he and the company provided. Unfortunately my wife and I don’t have a money tree in the backyard, Eric totally understood we wanted to save money while being energy efficient and not breaking our wallet on the installation. So he came up with multiple options for us. Scheduled a installation date the guys came installed with no issues very nice and pleasant. Eric followed up with the installation so did someone from the company and the installers made sure I had no issues. The icing on the cake is we got a NEST 2 out of the deal. Even if it was not involved in the installation I would still have gone with the company. They have truly earned their diamond certified status and it shows. Thank you for saving us money and keeping us warm and cold. Cheers!

Let’s start with sales Representative, Ryan: Ryan helped me choose the most GREEN, efficient, most cost effective, central heating system, and H2O On Demand Heater for my home; to my utter dismay, I bought my home brand new in 1998: The building contractor installed an OLD, USED, central heating system and purposefully (malicious intent), installed a 1991 H2O heater!!! WHAT!!! I was livid discovering both units had RUST inside!
So, Ryan helped me choose a 96% Central Heating System with a permanent filter (I just have to wash the permanent air filter every three months) and a Rheem whole house H2O 94% On Demand Heater for my home.
Scheduling: Gloria contacted me initially scheduling for installing the H2O On Demand Heater last Tuesday, 6÷09÷2015; Kim Haddon notified me scheduling for the central heating for 6÷15÷2015; both scheduled appointments were prompt and promised as scheduled! Installation scheduling for both components are SUPER-​FAST and pleasingly efficient!
I’m very pleased with contractors, Justin and Jose installing both very key, integral heating components for my home because they are copiously conscious keeping my home clean while installing these two units: These two contractors are highly knowledgeable, highly competent, and oh, so very cool!

My experience with Haddon was very good. The sales representative was very determined to give me the best deal possible on a new AC system and he easily beat the competition right out of the gate!
We had one hiccup on the electrical but it was quickly resolved with a phone call. They went above and beyond. Good job Haddon!

Very disappointed. Signed up to have them inspect my AC after it stopped blowing cold air. They had a special going if you signed up at theit table at home depot. We agreed on a time and we’re all set. A few days later I get a call saying that actually their technicians don’t work Friday afternoon afterall. Wanting the good price, I rescheduled for 5pm on a Thursday. I rushed home Thursday and waited. I called at 5:30 to see where they were but the office was closed. At 5:45 I get a call from the tech saying he was on the way and he had me down for a 5:30−6 timeslot. Wrong. I specifically told the scheduler I had something to do that evening. I had to tell him not to come by afterall. He was nice (Chris I think) and said they would call to reschedule the appointment but they never bothered to return my voice mail or call to reschedule. Only reason I’m not giving 1 star is I cannot comment on their actual in person professionalism and workmanship.

We just bought our house and I think I was a little over enthusiastic about changing out our thermostat to a more modern system. Long story short, I blew out a fuse on our furnace and I couldn’t figure out how to resolve it. I called Haddon one evening after leaving messages at 2 other local businesses (who didn’t even return my call) and they were able to send Victor out the next day. He was on time and after I was honest with him and explained what was going on, he knew right away what might be wrong. He had a witty and funny attitude towards my mistake and fixed our problem expeditiously. No overcharging, no up-​selling. Just straight to the point fixing and on his way. Couldn’t be happier with their service. Will definitely be calling Haddon again in the future.

Good service, nice people, but after the technicians left after both the installation and duct inspection, they pulled paint off of my ceilings with the tape they used and never said anything about it. There was also a huge mess of chipped paint and newly discovered rodent feces from one of our vents. Again, they never said anything about it nor offered to help a 9 month pregnant lady clean it up. AC and heater work great though.

Haddon replaced my home HVAC split system. They came out to scope our old system and gave a good, honest estimate for an all-​in price to do the entire job. They showed up right on time on the date of installation and took special care to keep my home clean during and after the installation. My new system is running as efficiently as advertised.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received yesterday from Haddon. My furnace is very old and the ignitor stopped working. The staff at Haddon was very courteous and scheduling the service call was not a problem. Victor was early and took a good look at my furnace. I told him I realized it was probably time to get a new furnace but would like to be able to light my furnace manually while I decide what to do. After some inspection he said board that controls the ignition was completely dead and it was too old to be replaced as they don’t make that part any more. HE SAID THE FURNACE WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. I was also told there was NO WAY to light the furnace manually. He gave me a bunch of options for purchasing a new heater and A/​C and said he could probably get me a system installed in the next 3 days. If I chose to go with Haddon, he also said they would provide space heaters while we waited for the install. He was very nice and in fact insisted on waiving the service call fee (that’s why I am giving 2 stars instead of one).
Today, I had another company come. The tech came in and basically jump started the furnace, and I figured ok, well he can light it because he is a tech and had the right equipment. We then turned the furnace off and the pilot light started igniting again and he showed me how to do it manually. Long story short, the furnace is working now and I can use my own time table to decide when replace it as opposed to being forced into making an immediate decision. He also said IT CAN BE FIXED by replacing the ignition module, which I may also do.
Haddon may claim that the furnace could not be relit manually because of safety issues (although this did not come up in the conversation) but the fact of the matter is that can be relit as long as you are careful and have a basic understanding on how gas and pilot lights work.

I just had an air conditioner installed and at the end of just 4 hours I had a wonderfully cool house. The installers were very friendly and answered all my questions, I also
want to mention Vince who was the salesman who came out to talk to us. He knew
the product inside out and gave us several choices. I am VERY happy with the whole
process and will now sit and enjoy my cool house. Thank you so much.

Five stars all the way. Did a great job fixing my air conditioning. It’s going to be a cool summer thanks to Haddon heating and air.

Vince is a nice guy, and I credit him with saving me money. I’d planned on installing two separate units, one in the attic and one in the basement, but he talked me out of it and convinced me to install a single, high-​efficiency Rheem unit with a dual thermostat. This will save money upfront and in the long term, and it allowed me to use my existing second-​floor duct system. The guys who work with Costco also came out but their bid was higher and they didn’t really think through what would work best in my situation.
The review would have been five stars if Haddon hadn’t failed to install a vent in my bathroom. That’s kind of my fault because I never suggested it, but they should have brought it up as an option. It would have been really easy to do because the duct system they installed runs right next to the bathroom floor, and the ceiling below the bathroom was already blown out for our kitchen renovation. When I later realized that there was no vent in the bathroom, Haddon wanted to charge me another $ 400 to come put one in. And that’s after I’d already spent some $ 9,000. My kitchen contractor says he can do the bathroom vent for much less.

I’m giving this company one star only because the techs that came out to install/​repair are courteous and professional. But I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. If you’re looking for a good company, contact Environmental heating and air solutions!
We wanted to replace our old furnace for a new one, and relocate it to the attic. We were quoted a one day job. Although it was more expensive than the other 2 quotes, we agreed to hire Haddon because we had a 12 week old infant at home in the middle of November and we needed to make sure she was warm. They came out all day on a Wednesday. They said they couldn’t complete the job and that they’d come out that Friday to finish. They came out Friday, and the fan on our new furnace was broken. They said they’d order it and fix it Monday. A tech came out Monday and said they hadn’t ordered the part yet, but that he was there to confirm the fan was broken. We called Monday to get a firm date of completion. They said they hoped they would get the part in time to install on Tuesday but that they couldn’t tell us when it’d be done. They offered to lend us space heaters in the interim. When they finally came to repair our new furnace they turned it on only to shower our house with insulation an leave. Every time the heater turned on more insulation came pouring out of the vents. We were unable to put our baby in her crib as it was covered in insulation every time the heater kicked on. We had a wonderful company, Environmental hearing and air solutions, come out to clean out our ducts after Haddon botched the job. We also hired Service Masters to install a new a/​c unit. They do the job right and guarantee complete satisfaction. Very disappointed with Haddon. No apologies were extended. Unbelievable.

Haddon installed a Rheem tankless water heater in April. Required a good amount of reconfiguration of pipes, new vent line. Took 12 hours of work on a 95 degree day in a hot garage utility room for two technicians. Very professional techs, ran a new electrical line even though this was not part of the fixed fee quote, no extra charge. Clean, well-​laid out installation and extremely courteous service from scheduling to quote to install to handshake at the end of a very grueling job.
This experience is consistent with the service I received when I had Haddon upgrade the entire heating and AC unit in 2005. Based on these two experiences, Kim and Dave operate a well-​run, customer service focused business and hire good people.

Haddon certainly isn’t bad. Especially after that first company that came to diagnose our heater but then again, that particular company makes a toddler look like a sophisticated, savvy technician.
The Haddon technicians are courteous and professional. They were able to properly diagnose the problem and produce all paperwork for us. We called them for our heater and decided to upgrade the water heater at the same time.
Unfortunately, the water heater was plugged instead of plumbed, which left us without hot water for the weekend. There were also some deficiencies with the newly-​installed heater. We did get a weekend call from Dave, thankfully, who scheduled a technician to come out first thing Monday morning. Unfortunately, he arrived two hours late to our house. In the end, he did fix both the water heater and central heater and Kim agreed to refund us a bit of money for our troubles.
So things don’t always go as planned and mistakes happen, but part of a company’s quality (or lack thereof) is how they handle problems. In this case, I am confident in Haddon’s ability to take care of problems. By the way, Dave’s a great person to talk to off the job, and I’m sure he’s just as great on the job.
Five stars for customer service. Three stars for skill and abilities. Overall, three and a half stars.
