The Concord HomeTown Buffet — the food was not what I would be back for? We use to frequent the Santa Clara HomeTown occasionally. This was our first time eating at the Concord location. The facility cleanliness was good and the waitress gave us wonderful service. We had a mini reunion of 12 and choose HomeTown so we could eat and take our time catching up with each other. I would only rate the food as 2 star. Some foods were salty, cold and not something I would recommend. The only good item was the fried chicken. Everything else was mediocre. Only dessert that was good was the ice cream.

The food here is decent and location is not as ghetto as the Pinole location.(I used to go to the Pinole one but now it’s closed permanently). The macaroni & cheese, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, popcorn shrimp and pot pies are delicious! The rest weren’t too bad. Reasonable prices, friendly staff and clean dishes/counter area.

Hey what can you about this place? It’s all you can eat. None of the patrons there are under 300lbs(even their kids!) If you want fine dining or a less artery clogging experience go elsewhere but if you are looking for cheap eats try them. p. s. they had some stuff their I was not sure of but it was fried and really salty.

Last Wednesday they had salmon and it was amazing. Had plenty of salmon, crab salad, and popcorn shrimp(followed by cheesecake for dessert). I really hope they keep bringing the salmon back, cause I will keep coming back for it. Waiters are also really friendly and ask multiple times if everything’s good. The table in front of me had two insanely messy kids, and their waitress was extremely patient cleaning up after them. Ignore the 1 star reviews that focus on how messy other customers’ tables are… how is that HTB’s fault? And please, don’t expect a 5-star restaurant from a buffet, and then blame the buffet for not being a 5-star restaurant. Let’s be civil and courteous here.

Dont really have a review! I give them 4 stars. But I would say the food is great! Not allot of selection like other stores. One of the chef’s, the brotha with the dreads, made me a steak! Superb! Just how i like it!

I dont even know what to say about this place other then save your money. The food was just awful. The roast beef was over cooked, pizza looked like it had been sitting out for days, the chicken fried steak was so hard I could have thrown it at my husband and seriously injured him. Just so many other places to spend your hard earned money. Very disappointed.

This place has really gone down hill since I’ve been here. A lot of the food was bland, lukewarm, and tasteless. I will say the customer service was very nice, our waiter faithfully cleared out plates. But the bathrooms were disgusting. My friends elbow got stuck to the wall it was so nasty. Won’t come back.

It’s hometown buffet, what else are you expecting? Food is fine, self-serve of course. Lots of people eat here from all walks of life. Price is okay(they charge you knowing full well they will make money on your meal as you probably won’t take advantage of the«all you can eat» rule). As long as you aren’t expecting 5 star cuisine and treatment it will do just fine.

Mediocre food warmed to the limit. Staff difficult to understand(English is not their home town language) Price exceeds minimal value. Done!

If you have $ 13.00 to spend for lunch don’t come here, the food was bad today, everything was old. I arrived at restaurant around 2:50pm no one was on the floor. The food looked so old, but I said to myself maybe it won’t taste bad wrong. The front cashier ask me if I had been here before and yes I have about 6 months before and the same bad food then as now, WOW I don’t understand that, but wait it’s now 3:40pm. The manager is now on the floor and helping change over from lunch to diner and wait here come the fresh food. Sad it is 30 min before a manager is on floor and now he is speaking to employee about the quality of the food, let see if he goes to any table no he goes right back to the back. We’ll looks like my last time here

HTB forever! The people who are leaving bs reviews don’t understand that they need to be creative and mix flavored together! I always have a good time at Hometown. second best to Golden Corral

I grew up on Hometown Buffet so they always have a small place in my heart. However I’m not sure if my standards have gone up or if their food quality has really declined, but something has definitely changed. The best friend and I stopped by here Friday night for cheap dinner. The line to get in was pretty long, and the dining room was pretty packed. Both were a little surprising to see. The woman at the register was super friendly, and tried to up sale our sodas to a «to go» cup for 99¢ more. A nice offer, but one we declined. A few of the food choices I actually enjoyed. Particularly the Popcorn Shrimp, which I made sure to pick up on every trip to the buffet. It’s really not that amazing, but it did satisfy the salty, fatty craving I was currently having. Judging by how quickly they disappeared once a new tray arrived, I can assume I wasn’t the only one they were satisfying. Other things that made my plate were; macaroni & cheese, kielbasa, meat loaf, BBQ baked beans, Spanish rice that I covered in nacho cheese, and seafood salad. I also had a regular salad that I saved for my last plate. I also took a dish of a sad looking piece of cheesecake that was very yellow but tasted OK. A lot of the food looked dried out but nothing tasted all out bad. Except for the popcorn shrimp, nothing had a whole late of flavor to it. This place would be highly recommended for those looking for a lot of edible food at a good price.

A bit crowded, and I don’t particularly prefer buffets, but this one had good food for a change. I LOVED the cornbread. The staff were helpful, but the neighboring tables(as well as when you go to pick up your food) aren’t too friendly or patient — even on Mother’s Day to a mother trying to hold a child and hold 3 plates of food in her hands. Show a little kindness, people. But I suppose that’s what you get at a buffet — a variety of people… And food. My son loved the veggies, though. For dessert, he loved the rice Krispy treats, but for me, I stuck to the fish, corn, cornbread, mashed potatoes, some nice crunchy sweet stuffing or whatever was next to the mashed potatoes and gravy. :) Overall, not a bad experience, I wish the customers were a little kinder, but the food was pretty good :) Personally, I wouldn’t recommend the pizza — it was a bit undercooked :(Their price is on point, though(for the quality of food and atmosphere).

I give this place 0 stars. Decided to come here for mother’s day and I have been sick for 3 days. I asked to speak to the manager, Francisco was the manager and spoke to him about an employee working in the dessert section he was wearing no gloves and touching his face and then touching the food with no glove. Disgusting. As I was speaking to Francisco and letting him know, his response back was, «yeah and». I wash my hands. What does that have to do with anything. Then he walks away. WOW… This is a horrible way of handling the situation. I will be filing a complaint. Don’t ever go here. So gross. I am done with buffets.

This place has gotten better over the past few months. I have had a better dining experience as of lately. The staff are more friendly and the food stations aren’t as messy or cluttered! Make sure to look for coupons! it is worth it!

This is a buffet. There is no buffet in the world where all the food is great. This has some good food and it has some bad food. You eat a lot of what you like and avoid the stuff you don’t like and you leave full. What it boils down to with places like this is can you stand eating around the other patrons? For the most part you get regular folks and it’s not a problem. We went there the other night, we’re pulling into a spot right in front of the restaurant and there’s a lady standing next to a car with the door open kind of blocking the parking spot. We pull up and wait for her to move and she kind of acts like«you go somewhere else.» Well, we’re not moving because you want to stand in an open spot, moron. She finally gives way(about six inches) and we pull in. I look at her closely and she looks like a grandma but also possibly a boxer. She looks like she’s been in a few rounds and could kick my butt easily. She’s talking to a young girl in the car, either her daughter or granddaughter or possibly a future opponent. She’s also got a fedora on, which really makes her look even more odd. We get our spot inside and start eating. There’s a family two tables over, parents and two young daughters. The kids are super cute, however they’re constantly singing. Not actual songs, just random words in the same four notes over and over and over, very loudly. The parents don’t care if this annoys anyone because they’re too busy stuffing their faces. The mom, sadly, is overweight to the point where her motto is clearly«this buffet isn’t making any money off me.» She’s not only been eating the entire time we’ve been there, but she got a Styrofoam box to take some home(which is another fee and I’m sure she still came out ahead). Despite her lack of parenting skills, I feel bad for her because she’s at a «heart attack at 35» weight and buffets are probably the last place she should be eating. Now I realize Boxer Grandma has met up with a few other folks and is sitting a couple tables over in my direct line of sight. She eats like a pig. It makes me want to vomit watching her. She attacks her chicken like someone who’s been living on an island for 30 years off bananas and is getting meat for the first time. I’m trying not to look at her as I eat because I don’t want to get sick but it’s hard because of my line of sight. Her movements are so violent as she attacks her food(like she attacks opponents in the boxing ring I’m thinking), I don’t know how the people at her table can sit next to her and eat. The word«manners» is not a word Boxer Grandma is familiar with. Now I’m thinking if the overweight lady was sitting in my seat, she could see Boxer Grandma eating and lose her appetite and this would be good. So it’s all about where you sit, folks. Next time we’re sitting in the far, far corner away from everyone.

Ok, I admit, I too have an craving for middle of the road America food sometimes. And… sometimes, one plate of it is not enough. Sometimes, one would like to eat a piece of fried chicken, then ice cream, then mac n cheese, back to ice cream, with cake, some burnt steak, 8 plates later, have a spinich and tell your wife you had your veggies. DON’T JUDGEME. Anyways, the food is at least freshly made, good and the place is clean. Don’t come in with super expectation and you will leave with a huge smile on face

This is a buffet, I know. But it doesn’t have to smell like urine. I tried the sirloin steak for starters. The guy had two pieces of steak in front of him on the grill, one that looked pretty good, the other that looked fatty and deformed. He picked up the good one, then put it back down, and gave me the shitty little piece. Got back to the table, the steak was as gross and abnormal tasting as it looked. It was greasy, fatty, and threaded with tough, connective tissue throughout. Then I tried the chicken. Gross and oily, and gamey. Next, had them cut me a slice of ham. Dry, dry, dry. It made me appreciate mustard. The people around me were cramming massive amounts of food into their bodies, and looked miserable. Babies were screaming their lungs out. From the ceiling they piped in «Arms of the angel» by Sarah Mclachlan on repeat over and over during my $ 15.00, 25 minute visit. Actually that’s an exaggeration, but it was mighty depressing in there. Don’t do it.
