Specialties
We are a classical vocal ensemble and we specialize in concert performances of Operas, Musical Theater and Oratorios and Symphonic Works. We are available for hire by regional orchestras and private entities who want quality classical music performed by gifted local artists. Contact us for more information. We bring you principals, you provide the orchestra, chorus and orchestral music/parts. We have several operas in our repertoire which could be ready with 8 weeks notice. Depending on the principals ensemble the price varies, but $ 500 per performer. So 6 principals = $ 3000.
History
Established in 2013.
We are incorporated as a non profit. For the professional and pre-professional student, the ITO provides the performance experience that they would not be able to get by doing operas which most other companies do not do. Later we hope to include master classes in dance, workshops in vocal and interpretive techniques, and artistic evaluations for pre-professionals not available to emerging artists. Since our beginning we have grown in some 18 months from 8 artists to over 25 principal artists. Our message is gaining momentum and we have done this on less than a shoestring. If we are to gain strength, be recognized as an artistic force in the Bay Area we must grow, raise funds and promote a regular season. Besides it would be nice to be able to offer an honorarium to our artists to cover their expenses. Our expenses include concert promotion and advertising, printing costs, insurance about $ 300 plus each year. Also, venue rental, music scores and orchestra parts cos
