I am kind of shocked by the negative reviews of Dr. Keledjian. I saw him the first time in John Muir Walnut Creek about 12 years ago, after a serious error committed by another surgeon. He performed an ERCP on two separate occasions, and was super attentive, informative, and kind. A few years later, I had a colonoscopy, and found him (again), extremely professional, courteous, and informative. Additionally, he was very polite to my husband in post-​op. Just recently, I had occasion to need him when I had been admitted to John Muir for a mystery illness. While he was a bit hard to get a hold of, he did come in to see me at 7:00 in the morning, and stayed for an HOUR, talking to me about possible causes of my problem, we strategized solutions, he listened to me, we discussed some more, and we developed a plan. It was the most collaborative, collegial, and respectful experience I have had with a surgeon. We were a team — he was not bossy or dismissive. He and I are working together — which is not something I can say about any other surgeon I have worked with (and that is MANY, unfortunately). I’ve got nothing negative to say… I love the guy!

I have had 4 procedures in the last 12 years and my wife has had 3. All procedures have been performed in a very professional manner with success. His pre-​procedure appointment is both informative and cordial. The office staff has always been helpful and caring in my preparation. The day of the last procedure Dr. K informed me after I woke up exactly what occurred. The post procedure instructions were provided and I was transported home. I then received a call from one of his assistants 24 hours after the event to see how I was doing. He truly is an excellent Medical Doctor, since I am one of those people that maintain my own medical file as well and have had experience over the years with many Doctors in a variety of specialties.

I saw Dr. Keledjian in the Antioch office, but wanted to add my review here along with two older reviews. I never looked him up when I was told he could see me. I should have. But I needed a colonoscopy done as soon as possible. He saw me the next day after I called his office, and the procedure was done the following day. He seemed nice enough when I met him. Colonoscopy day he sat at a desk while others got me ready for the procedure. He said not one word to me, and then im knocked out. When I awoke, my husband was next to me and the Dr. Never spoke to us nor was be anywhere to be seen. A lady came up and gave me crackers and water and told us what the Dr. Said he’d seen. This was on a Friday and come Monday I was miserable, I had been in so much pain from my Ulcerative Colitis and the colonoscopy. I called Dr. Keledjian’s office and the lady at the front desk said that he had sent over prescriptions already. Ok, thanks for telling me now that I ask about medicine. Well they won’t be covered by insurance so I’ve got to keep calling back and forth between dr and pharmacy to see if he had written a different prescription yet, he had not. Tuesday everything was finally settled much later in the day and I was in need of relief. The next week I called to speak with Keledjian regarding the medicine he put me on, as one Asacol some patients have worsening symptoms and I felt though at first I wasn’t in pain now I felt worse. It took a couple days for him to finally call back, after I bugged the crap out of his office staff. Sorry, hope they don’t hate me now. He basically laughed at me and said they have to put on the pamphlet that people can be immune to it because it’s happened like once before. Right… so speed things up I’m on these two medicines for two weeks now. Four days straight and I’m waking up not being able to move I’m in so much pain. I had to stop eating, I could barely drink anything to stay hydrated. I was losing more blood and was in the bathroom all night. I lost 11 pounds since I had been in for my procedure. ELEVEN. I went to the ER this past Monday, they notified him. Tuesday I was worse but not dehydrated as they pumped me with IV fluids in the ER so at least I had that going for me. I stopped taking the Asacol. I had a feeling it was that medicine bc every time I took it my stomach turned. I spent a week in bed with my heating pad, a bucket, water, and chicken broth. I couldn’t spend time with my son on his first birthday, on my second Mother’s Day (my 1^st one was recovering from a c section), or any day in the past couple of weeks. My husband has missed work to take care of me because I could not do a thing. So on this past Tuesday when I stopped taking the Asacol, my husband and I both called the office numerous times and left messages for him to call back. even with that and knowing I went to the ER, and today is Thursday, he still never called. I cancelled my upcoming appointment with him, left a message with the staff saying exactly why, and I’m meeting my new doctor next week. Do not go see this Doctor, no wonder they saw me so quick. I just needed the colonoscopy done ASAP so at least I got that out of the way. He’s cocky and he’s dismissive. He is not by any means personable and with this disease I need that. I need a doctor to work with me not against me, I have a family to take care of. I spent days crying because I couldn’t eat or see my son or do anything. And the pain! Lord have mercy the pain! And it stopped as soon as I stopped taking that Asacol! But would he listen to me? No. Would he call back? NO! Yesterday I enjoyed some grilled chicken again, though I thought I wouldn’t again for along time. In your face…

horrible doctor, performed a gastroendoscopy on me and never even bothered to call me back and share the results or next steps. Also comes across as generally rude and dismissive. Also informed me post-​procedure that I would need to be on prilosec for the rest of my life, which is a completely irresponsible suggestion.

I had a procedure performed by Dr. Keledjian in 2010. He made inappropriate jokes at my expense while I was under anesthesia. He was unaware that the assisting nurse was a close personal friend of mine and she related everything he had said about me. He left before I woke up. I had to schedule a follow up with him to get my results. He diagnosed me with an chronic disease, wrote me a prescription, and sent me on my way. There was no plan for follow up, no advice on how to deal with this incurable disease, no recommendations or support. He even talked down to me and tried to make me feel stupid when I asked him questions about this disease I had never heard of before. He was unkind, uncaring, and unprofessional. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I saw Dr Keledjian about two years ago. I saw him once, he recommend a super invasive and super expensive procedure. I assume he did it, because the last time I ever saw him was right before they knocked me out. Not that he talked to me there though, mind you. As for the procedure, I have no idea what it did or did not accomplish, because he left the hospital before I ever woke up, never talked to my family or to me. Never called me, nothing. I’m still in pain, having the same problem and further in debt thanks to him. I’m more convinced he’s a scam artist rather than a doctor, but then again, there’s really not much difference in those professions.
