I Don’t know why reviews are so bad. My oil change experiences have been pretty good. Prices are decent and oil changes are quick

I’ve been here 4 times for oil changes. They are the typical shop that wants to sell you all the services (fluid changes, brakes, etc). I’ve been happy with the service. Carl is the owner and is great!

If you need a quick oil change, do not bring your car to this guy! I had my oil changed here a couple days ago, and one of the «technicians“forgot to tighten the plug on the oil pan!
About an hour later, I’m on my way to the doctor and the «Check Oil Immediately» light goes on. When I get to my doctor’s office, after the car stalls a couple times gettting there, and I check the oil, I am horrified to find that there is no oil in the engine (that’s because I find out later that the oil is in my driveway). The car would not start and I was left stranded.
The next morning, I had the car towed to Meineke. It took them two hours to get me back on the road. The manager, Carl (owner or manager-​not sure), never apologized or acknowledeged what happened to my car. There was not even a $ 40 refund for the oil change that nearly cost me my engine. When I got home I contacted the dealership and they recommended that I get the engine diagnosed to make sure there was no damage.
Once again, I went back to Meineke the next day to ask Carl if he would at least cover the cost for an engine diagnoses at the dealership (I would never let Meineke do it!), and he simply refused.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Perhaps they don’t care about cutomer service at Meineke Econolube, but I am most certainly going to contact their corporate headquarters. And if there is any serious damage to my engine, Carl and the gang at Meinke will be seeing me in small claims court so that I can get my engine replaced!

Dishonest!
I was early to an appointment so decided to use that time to have my oil changed. After my oil was changed, the manager comes back into the office and says, «You need new brake pads, we can do it now for $ 175.» He continued to explain how the pads are really really thin, like barely anything left, that right now I don’t need new rotors, but if I wait and come back in just a couple weeks the rotors could be damaged and it would cost over $ 300 to fix. I felt uncomfortable at the way he was carrying on so I decided to leave without having the brakes done.
Then I went to my mechanic who I have been with for years. He looked at the brake pads and said they still looked practically new. I suspected that Meineke tried to take me, but just to confirm, got a 3^rd opinion from a highly recommended brake shop. 2 out of 3 mechanics agree, brake pads are in great shape. WTF Meineke?
Oh, and I asked both the other shops their regular price to change the brake pads, just because I knew something was off about how avidly the guy was trying to convince me of his «great deal». Both of the other mechanics quoted less than the «special offer» Meineke made for me, less than half the supposedly regular price these guys charge. Because I need another reason to never go here again…
