Mt. Diablo Unified School District

This district is usually a pleasure to work in. They offer a lot of support, training, and professional development. Don’t just pay attention to the
ratings, but actually visit/​try them out. I’ve worked in some of the Title 1 schools and loved them. Their substitute online system is really easy to use too.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I submitted documents in January to student services that were supposed to be submitted and processed by May. Not only were they four months late processing them but they didn’t even bother contacting me until August. This completely screwed up my daughter’s school arrangements. If that wasn’t bad enough already, the two women that work in that office are horrible. Since I work with grumpy people all day, I aways try to be extra patient with people because they may just be having a bad day if they’re being mean. But I think having a bad day every single time I called or went in to the office is too much of a coincidence to be the case. When you’re a jerk that often it’s because you’re a jerk, it’s not because you’re having a bad day. The blonde lady at the front desk in student services and the lady whose office is directly in front of the Student Services door are completely and totally rude. I tried to be very polite, I smiled, I said please and thank you and they were still awful. I’m so sick of this school district. It is such a joke.

This district is a joke. No one seems to be able to do their jobs at the district office and the superintendent never returns phone calls or emails. They do not send paperwork required to even sign up for classes, even if you’ve registered. A lot of the employees are unfriendly and unhelpful. I need to move to a better district or find a charter school to get away from this horrible district. It’s just too big to be efficient.

Fast, easy fingerprinting to get into the school district. Hurray for paperwork! At least everyone there is extremely nice and having a good day. :)
