7 bucks got me a BIG A$$(carne asada) Burrito. Major bang for the buck. Upfront parking, friendly staff, and clean. Salsa bar too. I learned what a «California Burrito» is. French fries. Haven’t tried one yet… I’ll add it to my local burrito joint rounds…

Best carnitas I have ever had hands down. Wow. My 13 year old loved them too and he usually orders chicken. Service was A+ friendly and very fluent in English for us non Spanish speakers(wish I had paid greater attention in high school Spanish) :). Highly recommend. This is my new go to spot.

This taqueria has excellent food! It is very clean, friendly service, and great menu. The food is very fresh and has an authentic taste to it. Their salsa bar has a lot to chose from, and their chips are fresh. A must try Mexican taqueria.

Authentic mexican restaurant with friendly staff. Food was great and was ready in under 10 minutes, prices under those seen at Chipotle. They give you delicious tortilla chips while you wait. No complaints. Give it a try!

Tried several test dishes for 1st visit and all were successful. Will be back. Chili Relleno was cheesy and not over breaded, crispy shredded chicken taco was crispy and succulent, carnitas is their specialty for good reason and super wet burrito was a good way to eat it. Will ask for extra wet next time. Clean and friendly.

Food was great. The real surprise for me was actually the service. The cashier greeted me, talked me through what he likes, and even modified my order so I could try a few different options. There was definitely a lot of pride in the way the business is run, and I live that. I would definitely come back when I’m in the area.

I can’t think of a reason not to give 5 stars here. We are always searching out true Mexican food, like what we left behind in San Diego. This place ranks right up there. Getting the particulars out of the way, the restaurant is in a strip mall near one of our favorite Deli’s-Parma. Parking is great, the restaurant very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered the shredded chicken«krispy«taco and ceviche tostada. The chicken was excellent, seasoned to perfection. The taco shell was very crisp and held up well to the gobs of chicken, cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and a dollop of sour cream. On advice I ordered the fish ceviche instead of the shrimp. The diced fish was very fresh as was the diced cucumber and just a touch of diced jalapeño. It was topped off with sliced avocado. There was so much ceviche I walked out of there feeling like I sprouted gills. There is a salsa bar with 3 – 4 different salsas and also pico de gallo and sliced, marinated jalapeños and onions. With a large menu that includes every kind of meat, we will be back!

The prices are amazing for catering. We called around and spoke to about 20 different places and they were all trying to charge us over $ 700 for what we needed for a big party. We were able to order a bunch of tacos, beans, rice, salsa and guacamole for less that $ 400 for the same thing! Plus they delivered! They were on time with the delivery and the food was really good! I highly recommend them for catering!

This place is definitely doing something right. I must first say that I love the logo. It’s simple, catchy, and I can see it drawing people in as it did with me. They have homemade chips to munch on as you wait for your food. The salsa bar is small but full of great tasting salsa, pickled carrots and radishes, and pico de gallo. Like the chips everything on the salsa bar is also very obviously homemade. I went on a little feast for dinner. I ordered a steak filled wet burrito, and a shrimp civiche tostada. The burrito was huge(as expected) and the sauce it was drowning in was delicious. It was filled to the brim with grilled steak, rice, and beans. Accompanying the sauce on top was a drizzle of guacamole and sour cream, both of which I’m sure is also homemade. The civiche tostada was very fresh, and it made for a good balancing act with my burrito. Big pieces of shrimp, slices of avocado, not to mention more of their amazing pico de gallo. There was so much food crammed on that tiny tortilla, I’m shocked it didn’t break when I picked it up. Just one more amazing taqueria in the Concord area, and I give two big thumbs up for that.

Located in the same plaza as the great sandwich shop Parma, Taqueria Carnitas Tijuana is cooking up some serious Mexican food y’all. I am a big fan of Tortilleria El Molino but considering selection and quality, Taqueria Carnitas Tijuana might have a slight edge. Enter the shop and you are greeted with a friendly hello. Proceeding to the counter staff do their best to be helpful while you consider your order. I opted for the pollo asada burrito without rice or beans and a carne asada taco. The burrito was full of flavor although could have been better with the addition of more chicken. The taco was as good as I have ever had. Home made tortilla with plenty of steak, onion and cilantro. Lunch for my wife and I + drinks was under $ 20.00. Food and service are excellent as is the clean environment. Taqueria Carnitas Tijuana might very well be the best taco shop in all the East Bay.

I’m always looking for a good burrito place. It’s harder and harder to find a place that will have quality meat, produce, and service. I ask for very specific things in my burrito because that’s how I like to enjoy it. Many places question or get a bit rude. Not here. I was greeted by a friendly woman. The place looked clean and also very straight forward with their menu. So I ordered a carne asade wet burrito with cilantro and extra cheese to go. I then checked out the salsa bar(what makes or breaks a good place). I was surprised to see all the things I wanted including pickled carrots, jalapeños, salsas of all kinds, and it all looked fresh! The real test was when I brought the food home. I opened up the dish and it looked and smelled delicious. The first bite I had proved to me that this might just be my new place! This really surprised me and it’s very close to home! Yum!

Very very clean inside, in fact, one employee was sweeping while I was there. Seating inside is just basic picnic tables. Nothing fancy. But like I said, it was very clean. Salsa bar was a good size. Menu is slightly on the small side, posted on two large screens above the grill. The young gentleman who took my order was very pleasant. The men making the food were laughing with each other and having a good time, even though I couldn’t understand what they were talking about. I ordered my food to go: a wet burrito with carne asada and a shrimp ceviche tostada. Took roughly 10 mins or so to come out. I could overhear/make out they were making the ceviche fresh, which is definitely good to hear. Ceviche had great flavor, with lots of citrus flavor in it. Good big chunks of shrimp, as well. I’d have liked more shrimp, but it wasn’t a big deal. There was more ceviche than the tostada could hold, so I ate the rest with chips. Speaking of the chips, if they ask you if you want one bag or two, you may want to ask for two. Each bag is a small serving, meant for one person, like a french fry bag. The chips themselves were just okay… they may need to change the oil in their fryer, though. The salsas were good. Even the mild red salsa had a kick, so I wonder how hot the hot salsa is. The green salsa was pretty mild, but it was listed as «medium.» I was pretty full from the ceviche and only ate two bites of the burrito, but really liked the flavor. I’m looking forward to digging into it tomorrow for lunch :-) Drinks are just in the fridge next to the counter, regular canned and bottled sodas, as well as dispensers for fresh drinks like horchata at the counter. Everything about the visit was 5 stars. I would definitely definitely come back again!

After having eaten there a number of times, I have to up the rating. + Chips are home-style, not store bought kind. And hand salted. + Salsa bar is great. When it comes food, flavor beats size. + Chips are served in a small paper container which keeps me from getting full on chips ‘n salsa instead of the food. Refills available. + Tasty food, especially rice and beans + Portion sizes are slightly smaller than at other places. This is handy if like me, you too are trying to reign in that ever expanding waistline. Order their handmade-tortilla tacos. They are amazing!

Man, I was hoping this place’s carnitas would blow my mind… like BOOM. After living in the South, I came across hog masters that have raised the expectations and basically stomp on anything I could get here in California. So there, I set myself up for failure when visiting this taqueria. Carnitas is in the name, so I must play the game. Don’t get me wrong, their carnitas as well as many other items are done well. No real complaints on quality in general. Place is well kept and the staff is friendly. Even when I had to go vegetarian for 40 Days/Nights, I was able to eat here. Wish I could give 3.5 Stars. Maybe I’m strict, but I’m looking for the BOOM.

TL;DR: Friendly employees, great food, crazy low prices. Stopped in here to meet up with some friends for a quick dinner. Establishment is fairly new, very clean and well kept. Was very pleased walking in the door. The menu is decently varied, with all your favorite Taqueria hits. They also have a very good selection of meat options, everything from carnitas to beef tongue and then some. I scored the three taco plate w/rice and beans for 4.99. My girlfriend selected a few tacos a la carte. I got carnitas across the board, because… well… pork. While we were waiting for our food(which didn’t take long at all) they gave us some chips to nosh on and had a very respectable salsa bar. Additionally the proprietor came out and spoke with us, as did several other employees, asking our names, how we were, etc…, all the pleasantries. Was a nice change of pace. I really like to see that level of engagement with your customers. Helps build a familial atmosphere. The food came out and it was delicious. Was a touch light on seasoning, but then I prefer my food pretty salty so there you are. Very filling portion size for the price; I was quite pleased. The proprietor came out again while we were eating to check on us, and our food, and was adamant about us being honest with our appraisals. If something was wrong, they wanted to know so they could improve it for our next experience/the next customer. Suffices to say, all around it was a great trip. They are super close to our house, and I enjoyed everything about our visit. I will definitely return here!

The key to a successful business: be nice. (Delicious food and cleanliness help too.) But nobody needs to tell that to these guys. This taqueria operates on the principle that you can go anywhere to eat, but the attitude of the staff will bring you back here, and the food speaks for itself. We agree! My husband and I came in for dinner on a monday night and even though only one family was in line ahead of us, we had our food started before we reached the register. I ordered a fish taco and a shrimp taco and my husband had 5 carnitas soft tacos. We snacked on chips while we waited for our meals. I like thin, crispy chips better than the traditional thick ones they serve here, but at least their hot salsa had a kick to it. Their salsas weren’t labeled and the hot one is in the middle — be warned: it’s hot! The food came out quickly and my tacos were beautiful. They had a creamy sauce on top that I’ll probably request them without next time, but the fish was lightly fried and tender, and the shrimp were delightfully seasoned. Fresh lettuce and tomato on top of my crispy taco. Not at all greasy — I felt particularly healthy(minus the creamy sauce). Husband’s carnitas weren’t cooked well-done, like he’d requested. He wanted crispy pieces, but still finished his plate and left saying that he’d found his new favorite Mexican plate. Both our meals with two large bottles of Coke were just under $ 20. Before we left we were offered a sample of a smoky pork dish with a salsa verde marinade. Delicious! We’ll definitely be back.

By far some of the best Mexican food in Concord at unbeatable prices. We were looking for a new place to get some tacos and found Taqueria Carnitas Tijuana. Not only was the food fantastic, the customer service was the best we have had in a long time. We were greeted when we walked in the door and our order was taken in line by the chef. There was a salsa bar with four different salsas, then the usual array of assortments than you would normally find. I ordered five carnitas tacos that were $ 1.39 each and by the fifth one I was full. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. It was dressed with onions and cilantro and and had enough meat to make me happy with each bite. We will definitely be going back, probably sooner then later.

This place is ok. Just recently opened. They have a few restaurants in the East Bay, but i’ve only been to this one. Here’s my rating scale: +1 star — I felt like I got what I paid for, not expensive. They also would be a good deal to cater to a party. +1 star — clean +1 star — friendly service 0 star — difficult to locate the menu, pricing, and contact info for call ahead orders. ½ star(rounded up in the rating to 1) — taste — Not too impressed compared to my other go-to mexican restaurants in the area. But they do have good, fresh chips. I had the el pastor super burrito and my wife had the carnitas burrito bowl(they didn’t have taco salad bowl) We will give them a second chance sometime and hopefully add a star or two.
