Tech Restore

I got my 5s screen repaired and everything seemed to be okay. The people were friendly and helpful and they got it done the same day.
HOWEVER… After updating my phone to the latest OS (9.2) the home button stopped working correctly. I brought it into the apple store and they said that when you update the device automatically verifies parts and there are sometimes conflicts with third party parts. My phone became basically unusable (as the home button is pretty important), and I ended up buying another screen from apple which fixed the issue.
The apple store repair in Walnut Creek was $ 129, the same price as Tech Restore, so in the future I’d recommend going with the real deal.

Had to get a replacement iphone 5S screen and they were very prompt, helpful and friendly.
I would use them again!

Tech restore did a great job with repairing my cracked LCD on my 13 inch mac book pro with Retina display. I would go back to them again in the future.

They replaced the battery on my iPhone within a few hours of dropping it off. Works great, friendly folks.

I would highly recommend TechRestore. I brought my 2009 Macbook Pro in for a hard drive upgrade. Their service is great and efficient. The customer service people were very friendly and patient.
I brought my Macbook in at 1pm and was told I could pick it up at 8am the next day. Although I wish I could’ve picked it up on the same day, it’s way faster than dropping it off at the Apple store and waiting for them to upgrade it. Additionally, it comes with a 1 year warranty. Yes, the parts are obviously cheaper if you order them yourselves, but not everyone has the parts and time on hand to do the upgrade themselves, which is what I think makes TechRestore’s services great.

My daughter’s iPod was having charging problems. We sped down to TechRestore just before closing and the nicest, super-​competent employee showed us how it was our wire that was the problem. Not the battery. He not only diagnosed the trouble, but he sent us home with a spare charger/​wire — at no charge! Yes, you read right. What’s more is that the shop was calm, quiet, tastefully appointed and not crowded (like the Apple store in W.C.). We now have a Go-​To shop for all of our Apple products. I can recommend TechRestore with confidence and a certain amount of joy! Thank you so much, TechRestore!

I recently dropped off my IPad for a glass screen replacement and service was awesome. I opted to have it mailed to me after the repair was completed. I got a phone call about 3 hours later to let me know the repair was completed. I advised them to go ahead and mail it and to my great surprise I received it the very next day! Fantastic service.

I had a MacBook Pro with Retina with a cracked LCD and these folks repaired it in a day! I paid for the shipping label and dropped it off at UPS on Tuesday evening. They did the repair on Wednesday and shipped it out that night. I called and changed the return shipping to have the laptop held at the UPS service center so I was able to pick it up at 9:00am. The price was very reasonable and the turn around was exceptional. And they were very customer service oriented. These folks helped ease the pain of damaging a brand new laptop with their great service.

I brought my Iphone 4 S here in the morning and got it back in the afternoon. Great customer service. I would definitely go back with them again.

Recently broke glass on iPhone. Met with same friendly courteous efficient service. They are definitely my go-​to people for Apple products

This place is Awesome. I brought my Mac in for a new hard drive and it was fixed fast and when I had an issue with an app, I brought it in and Matt fixed it first thing. Easy location, near Costco. Great Job Tech Restore.

Well my room mate suggested this place, so I figured give it a whirl.
I went in on a Friday and was told I would be better to bring it in another day. So I waited until the next week and dropped off my phone at 1:11. I was told I would get an email when my status was updated. I asked if it would be done by the next morning and the person who checked me in said «Who knows, sometimes they shock and awe.»
At a little before 3:00 I was emailed to call about my order status. Turns out my home button on my phone just needed to be re-​aligned and I was just charged a few dollars for that, and my new battery has a 1 year warranty and it was ready to be picked up.
Shock and awe. For a little over 100 bucks I have a phone that is ready to go another 3 years.

I love this place! They under promise and over deliver! They will tell you 24 hours and it is done as soon as they can. They are so efficient and smart and they always have a huge supply of reclaimed parts that have saved me hundreds every time. They also warranty their work for one year! Keep up the good work!

Matt is awesome he fixed my MBA cracked screen no time and looked at my wife’s MBP too.
I want to give him 5 stars for the service, the work, the price, the shipping.
My big complaint is I needed this fast and when I explained I had 2 MacBooks to look at, I was told by the woman who answers the phone that they «may» (no guarantee) be able to have same day turnaround, and that they are open 10am-​4pm on Saturdays. I decided to risk it and go for it and drove all the way out there (45min on e way) the next morning on Saturday to get there at opening time. Once I got there I find out they don’t work on Macs on weekends. The Mac people wont be in until Monday. I was a little pissed that the person on the phone left out this very pertinent piece of information.
She gets no stars !

I am very pleased with the EXCEPTIONAL customer service here. Over the phone and in person were very helpful. My mac had some water damage and would no longer turn on. After about 72 hours of letting it dry upside down it would not turn on. And they totally saved it! I had to have a cleaning, and replace the top part of the keyboard. So far so good, as I am using my now functional computer to type this review.
My only two complaints would be that the technician who worked on it, did not let me know when he was done repairing it, so I waited an entire day, unsure if I could pick it up. Minus 1 star. I had to contact them to ask.
Second minor complaint, is that the technician did not explain the charges fully, and I was very displeased at getting a tad higher bill than what he initially quoted over the phone. I asked about it, and some adjustments were made, but had I not asked about why the receipt total was higher than what the technician told me, I would have been overcharged by at least 50 dollars. The cashier did not even read the NOTES section, which showed a discrepency in the amount I was billed, until I showed him. Minus second star.
Overall, I think this is a solid company that provides excellent customer service and can fix almost any issue with mac computers. Had the above-​mentioned issues been handled differently, I def would not hesitate to give them a 5 star rating!

Ridiculously fast and good.
I managed to drop my Macbook Pro 13″ on it’s back (screen down, lid closed) from about 4 feet. My wife asked if it was ok, and I said that I’d probably cracked the glass.
Guess what. I absolutely crackled the glass, and found out later that I’d wrecked the SuperDrive also.
I live near Lake Tahoe, and usually go to Reno for repairs. They thought the fix would be about $ 300 and had to be sent out. I found an outfit on the East Coast that was about half that, but by the time I shipped it, I was looking at 10 days to 2 weeks and another $ 75 in shipping costs.
Since I was driving to the Bay Area, I looked around and found TechRestore. I spoke with a human who was both knowledgable and pleasant. She recommended I complete the online invoice, which I did. Dropping off the computer took about 2 minutes — and I asked her to check the SuperDrive. I got a call about an hour later that the SuperDrive was broken, with a quote to replace it. When I returned home that night, I found an email that my repaired computer had been shipped.
I received it today, less than 24 hours after I dropped it off. There was NO shipping charge to return the computer by UPS ground. Even though it was 3 hours away, since TechRestore understood how important it was to get it back to me, they made the effort (without a RUSH charge) to fix it right away.

Recently, my iPhone’s dock Connector hasn’t been working. After diagnosing the problem at home and trying various ways of fixing it, nothing worked. So we figured it needed to be replaced.
As I came in, the people here seem friendly enough. I left my phone here overnight, because they were 1 technician short to do a diagnosis on the phone. She mentioned that it’s usually best to come early in the morning to get a diagnosis by the afternoon. As I was leaving she mentioned they needed to get my access code to be able to get in and test the phone. Feeling highly uncomfortable, I figured it was necessary.
The next day, the technician gave me a call back at 10 AM to talk to me about the phone. He told me he did a diagnosis and the dock connector seems to be charging fine. Then I told him that it doesn’t play music when I plug it in my car like it’s suppose to. Then he mentioned, there was no way of testing that to see if it worked or not. Funny, I thought that’s what a diagnosis was suppose to be?
He told me that I probably don’t have to replace it, but if I do, it would be $ 80. And if their part don’t work, then they can re-​swap it back with my part and give me a refund. So I said, well let’s just do it. Later on the afternoon, I was called to pick it up. When I got there, I said I was going to test it out first. Luckily I did. My home button now was stiff, volume buttons now wasn’t working (no sound coming out from the speaker), and most importantly, the dock connector still doesn’t work.
So I went back inside and talked to the technician. The conclusion came down to that it maybe after installing it also created a problem with the other parts. I asked, did he check all of it to see if worked after fixing it. He told me, «yes, we always check everything before we give it back to customers». Well this wasn’t true, because on the phone, he told me there was no way of testing it.
Honestly, I just didn’t appreciate the inconvenience of driving there to find out it wasn’t properly checked to see if my phone was working now with the new part. All he told me was he’s not sure what happened and that it might be a motherboard issue if the new dock connector isn’t working. It seems like he was just guessing now. There could’ve been numerous things, like installing a defective part or that they did a poor job of installing it, etc.
But he just told me that he will swap my part back on and get it working to the same condition again as I had it. Fine. After a few hours, I was called in to pick it up. I made sure I checked everything before left. And luckily, it was working the same as when I gave it to them. And they gave me a refund.
It just bothers me that you would expect going to experts to fix these things to do a good job & test everything before they return it back to the customers.

My MacBook appeared to be dead. Not the way I wanted to start the evening.
Checked out this business on Unilocal the next morning. Spoke with them and they were very helpful. They said I could bring it by and there was no charge to diagnose the problem. (most places charge $ 50.00 min.)
Dropped it off and they replaced the hard drive by that afternoon!
Best of all they shipped it to me (no charge) the next day. It was great to see there are still people out there who try to make the customer happy.

I dropped my iPhone this morning and shattered its screen. Went online found that TechRestore was highly recommended on Unilocal.I went to their website, ordered the replacement screen and dropped it off at their store. 5 hours later I’m back in action with a new Apple OEM screen and in better working order. If you want to pay an extra $ 20 they will repair your iPhone while you wait. Apple told me it would be $ 200 and a two week wait for the repair. Thank you TechRestore for the great

My kid sat on his MacBook and cracked the screen. The Genius at The Apple Store wanted $ 800 to fix it, or rather, have me buy a new one for $ 999.
It didn’t take this «Genius,» me, to figure out there must be a better way…
TechRestore to the Rescue! Googled up «Mac Screen Repair» and «About 5,460,000 results (0.20 seconds» later, they were at the top of the list. Reading a bit more, they’re in Concord, or is it Clayton!?!
Called up Linda who said TechRestore could replace the screen for $ 229 with free shipping (2 – 5 days snail mail each way) or if I bring it in, $ 250, same day, and done in about 1−½ hours.
I left Berkeley and was in «God’s Country, Clayton and/​or Concord, CA» in about a half hour.
It was kinda hard to find, even with GPS. TechRestore is in an industrial park, right behind Costco. Know that in back of Costco is no help, because Costco is a really «big mother f’n of a store!» Remember, it’s on the corner of a while building with an Oak Tree in front.
Dropped it off, went to lunch at Emil Villa’s Original Hick’ry Pit in Walnut Creek (my good friend owns the store), got a really great car wash at Ebi Car Wash, and just like they promised, it was all fixed and ready when I returned.
They sell refurbished Macs, even the dinosaurious, iBookG4! And of course, those pesky iPhone screens. Nice place, good service, great people.
Still, hard to find. It takes a Genius!
