Discount Tire Store – Conroe, TX

This is the third time the following has happened to me at this same location. Came in to have my tires rotated and balanced. As this has happened to me before here, I number (with a paint pen) my wheels to make sure they correctly rotate tires. Again, they only changed two of the four wheels/​tires. Waited three hours for them to do that. They were dumbfounded when I confronted them about this issue. Told the manager that today was the third time this same Discount Tire did this to me. Consumer beware, as there incompetence will result in premature wearing of tire life.

Very low quality work at this location, guys rush the cars out without checking if work is done correctly. Dropped off my car for a tire replacement, and tech calls me to pick up the car at 5 o clock Saturday. The wife drove the car home and noticed tire monitor light is on, by now the store is already closed and all the employees have rushed out. Being a Saturday I have to bring it back on a week day to fix the leaking valve stem. I hope this is just a one time issue, I doubt i will feel comfortable letting these guys replace tires on my other cars.

Desperately needed my tires rotated/​balanced but since I purchased my tires for an awesome deal through a friend and not a store I didn’t have a package option. I called DiscountTire, spoke with Joey who was awesome and set up an appointment for 10am Saturday morning. I arrived on time only to find out I had shown up at the wrong store *(we have 3 in Conroe). Jeremy assured me that he would get my car done and I could pick it up in an hour or 2. Saturdays are very busy for me so I didn’t make it back up to the store till after closing, 5:10pm. Jeremy met me at the car with my keys and thanked me for choosing discount tires. When asked what I owe he said nothing. Wow! When I called another popular tire store in Conroe I was told it would be $ 12 per tire to balance and rotate… then the salesperson launched into his speal trying to sell me a package, CC, maintenance etc.
I appreciate the genuine friendly staff at Discount Tire, the fact I didn’t have to deal with a sales pitch, their willingness to fit me in though I made a mistake and showed up at the wrong location… all in all I believe I will be returning to Discount Tire and highly recommend their business model.

Awesome service. I went in as a dumb wife that doesn’t usually take care of the car stuff and they were great. I had a tire that was low on air, so they checked it and repaired it. They also checked our records because we bought the tires there a year ago but in a different state and saw I was due for tire rotation and so they did that. Then they’d noticed my low tire light was on and they’d checked the spare and it had no air so they fixed that too! And I was out of there in less than an hour. Lots of hard workers!

Another outstanding transaction– four new tires and in and out in 20 minutes. I enthusiastically recommend this location (some of the others deserve one star).

I had a nail in my tire, they checked it, they got it out and said it was FREE!
So guess where I’m going when I need new tires…
We called ahead and this was the only place that was not fully booked, I did have to drive a ways to get here so thankfully I made it without incident, but they had the tires I needed just in case, and the great thing about it was it was… FREE!
Clean service room with refreshments and lots of places to sit.

Discount Tire is the bomb! They fix flats for free and air up your tire like a 1950’s Gas Station Attendant. When I buy tires, I only shop here… I have a CostCo and Sam’s Club membership and I never would use them as long as I continue to receive the great service that I get at Discount!

No. A million times no. I pulled up to the free air check station and waited. And waited.
Then waited some more. This discount tire sucks, but the other three I’ve been to in Houston have been amazing.
So, just keep driving by this one. You’ll run into a more competent one a few miles down the road.

Normally fast and courteous. Staff is always very helpful. I recommend getting there early in the day, as the end of the day is much busier and will take you longer to get serviced.

Good service, always try to work with your price range. If ordering is needed they typically get it in quickly. Offer cold water and clean restrooms.

I live close by so I come here often, they are always courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. It can get busy but they make sure they acknowledge their customers.

Excellent, fast service. Everyone I encountered seemed to take real pride in their work. I will be back.

Do not go here if you are a woman. Initially I went here because of a flat tire that I needed fixed but ended up buying two used tires for the drivers side since they were the worst. I actually needed three but didn’t have the money so he changed the two really bad ones on the drivers side. Before he changed my tires out I asked him to not rotate because the wheels in the back were bent and it makes the car shake really bad at 60mph and above. When he brought the car to me I noticed they had been switched anyway because the tred on the outside was worn on the front drivers. He then assured me that the wheel he put on the front was not bent so I assumed it was the one from the right front. As I drove on the highway the next day my car started to shake really bad at speeds over 60mph. I took the car back today to get the wheels switched back out and the gentlemen who helped me before was not there so I told the guy at the counter my issue and he agreed to switch the wheels back for me. It was raining outside and I trusted them so I did not check the tires when I left. As I drove down the highway to do errands, the car started shaking again at 60mph. When I got to my next stop I looked at the front tire and the same tire was there, tred and all! Now I have to drive 45min out of my way to get my dad to switch them back out again for me. These people have lost my trust and treated me like a fool, all because they thought they knew better than me! I won’t be back and warn all women not to go there because they will treat you like you don’t know what you are talking about too and do what they want anyway! Epic fail!

I’ve been using DT for years and have always been treated well, till I came to this one. Since this one is on my way home from work I decided to make an appointment to get new tires. When I showed up I went to the counter with the big sign over it that says «Appointments & Pick-​ups». I waited for the only attendant at the counter to finish with the person he was helping and he asked me if I was there to pick up. I said no that I had an appointment. He told me it didn’t matter and that I needed to get in the line that was stretching to the door. 3 new customers had walked in after I did just during the time I waited for him to finish with the customer. I said every DT I’ve ever been to takes their appointment before walk-​ins. He said he didn’t care and I needed to get in line. I said I would just take my business elsewhere and walked out the door.
I drove past my exit to go to my usual DT and they were able to help me in an appropriate amount of time without a long line of customers as they were properly staffed with courteous employees. Both my wife and I have bought full sets of tires at other DT’s for this one experience even though this one would be more convenient. I hope they get new management some day that will focus them on customer service. Till then I recommend you drive just a little further north or south to either of the other two in the area as they are SO much better at what they do.

Yes, I too have to comment on this DT. It may be a tire place, but that makes it even more significant. I have been going here for over 4 years and am always impressed. Management and the people working there are obviously top notch, first class people. Schedule online for service and they are super speedy and quick when I get there. Typically, I bring in the car, give it to them, then walk to Kroger for a coffee, walk back and they are almost finished.
For a basic tire rotation, I can be in and out in about 15 minutes.
