Service is usually pretty great when we come in! We never rent here (bc their competition has them beat) BUT when we want to buy movies or books we come here! I LOVE the buy two, get one free (?) on the used items. You can get a lot for your buck!

Decent selection and a good atmosphere. I’ve gone here a few times when I’m in the area and i like it there.

I’ve been into this bookstore numerous times since last October and have had only a small problem or two with the place. When I first came in and asked where the NY Times was kept, the cashier gave me a strange look and pointed vaguely to a stand in the corner saying, «I don’t know but if we have it its over there». No biggie.
Recently, I asked where the NY Times crossword books were kept and another cashier ‘paged’ someone to meet me over in ‘that’ section. I found the puzzles on my own as no one showed up.
Then yesterday, my son gets there at 10 in the morning to rent the PS3 game Prototype. Tuesday is when all the new movies and games come out, right? Obviously not here. The clerk told my son that FedEx hadn’t arrived so he went and sat in his car for awhile. nary a FedEx sighting.
He called several times that same day, getting the same answer. Hell, he even had his roommate call. Finally one guy told him the movie didn’t release til today, Wed. My son was a bit peeved.
So he went back this morning and still no Prototype on the shelf. He asked the guy there and I guess there were enough phone calls from gamers because he went to the back and returned with the game.
Not sure if this is an anomaly or if it happens a lot here at Hastings.
