I love Aldi. The prices can’t be beat and in general their brand of food if as good or better than the grocery stores. Especially since the other nearby grocery stores, Rainbow and Cub near Northtown Mall, are really scuzzy. Pros: Great prices, food is overall pretty good! Never seems too crowded and I always get through checkout fast, at least as fast as at the«regular» grocery. Nice rotating specials, too, like fancy cheese or Asian-inspired food, or desserts. Also, there’s been a nice trend towards having more gluten-free products, almond milk, and organic products. Cons: they don’t refrigerate their fruits and veggies so those are often hit or miss. And I have just never bought Aldi fresh meat, although their frozen meats are great. Also, their is one cashier, a tiny woman with dark hair who is a total jerk. She is mean, unhelpful, and once even accused me, in front of the whole store, of trying to steal a 68-cent loaf of bread… while I was in the process of paying for about $ 100 of other groceries.(In fact, she had forgotten to scan it before putting it in the cart).
