History

Established in 1974.

Founded in the garage of his home in 1974 by Gerry Sizer, Industrial Door Co., Inc. grew through hard work and a commitment to providing excellent garage door service and products to customers in the Twin Cities area. In 1981 Gerry purchased «Twin City Spring», renamed it «Industrial Spring», and began the spring manufacturing division of the Company. With Gerry’s guidance, and an expanding customer base, both Companies continued to grow. Gerry «semi-​retired» in the year 2000, with his two children stepping forward. Jeremy Sizer, serving as G.M. of Industrial Door Company and Jodi (Sizer) Boldenow serving as G.M. of Industrial Spring Company. Today, Industrial Spring Company offers a full line of springs for the garage door market.

Gerald Sizer, Industrial Door Company, Inc. has grown to set the standard for quality garage doors in the Upper Midwest. Beginning in his own garage, Gerry grew the Company through hard work and a commitment to providing outstanding garage door systems and service to customers in the Twin Cities area.

In 1981, Gerry purchased Twin City Spring, renaming it Industrial Spring Company, and began the spring manufacturing division of the Company. With Gerry’s guidance, and an expanding customer base, both companies prospered. Gerry semi-​retired in the year 2000, with his two children, Jeremy Sizer and Jodi (Sizer) Boldenow, stepping forward and becoming the second generation owners Industrial Door Company and Industrial Spring Company respectively.

In 2007 Industrial Door Company acquired Holmes manufacturing in Tempe, Arizona expanding the spring manufacturing division to the west coast.
